THE 2013

LX

The LX gives you virtually everything you could want in a rugged off-road vehicle—without making you feel like you’re actually driving one. The spacious interior surrounds you with the finest amenities, while technologies like Crawl Control,1 Active Height Control (X-AHC) and full-time four-wheel drive help you take on more challenging terrain. Clearly, this is no ordinary vehicle of utility. This is the Lexus LX. Power on.

THIS IS

LEAVEITALLBEHIND

WHILETAKINGITALLWITHYOU.Sometimes you just need to get away. But that doesn’t mean you have to make sacrifices. The LX offers an array of indulgences to help keep you and your passengers comfortable and content. So much so, you might even say the LX is a destination in itself.

NATURAL BEAUTY ISN’TEXCLUSIVE TO THE GREAT OUTDOORS.

The LX is tough enough for rocks, mud and sand, but its interior appointments may lead you to think otherwise. Consider the available semi-aniline perforated leather-trimmed seats, stitched so precisely not a wrinkle shows when the front seat cushions are adjusted. They’re available in either Black or Parchment, each chosen to perfectly complement the exterior colors of the LX. Mahogany wood trim is standard. No, this isn’t roughing it. It’s something much more inviting.

WHEN IT COMES TO THE

PERFECT TEMPERATURE, EVERYONE HAS A DIFFERENT TAKE.

67º

68º74º

71º

To help prevent any heated debates about the interior climate of the LX, we divided the cabin into four individual zones, allowing those in each area to set their desired temperatures. The front seats are also available with individual heating and ventilation systems. And for your passengers, you can opt for heated second-row outboard seats. After all, if there’s anything you should expect from a vehicle’s luxury accommodations, it’s the ability to accommodate.

DECIDEDLY INDECISIVE.With the LX’s versatile seating configu-rations, you’ll be prepared for just about any scenario. The power-slide second-row seat offers a 40/20/40-split fold to accommodate a variety of items. A simple lever tumbles the seat forward and out of the way, providing even more cargo space.2

Additional versatility can be found in the standard power third-row seat. It splits 50/50. And by pressing a button on either side, each respective section can be stowed away, providing ample room for your favorite things.

The available Wide-view Front and Side Monitor system13 uses a grille-mounted camera to help enhance visibility of what’s just around the corner.

The system also includes a camera under the passenger side-mirror for greater visibility in narrow passages and while parking.

When the LX is placed in reverse, the standard backup camera14 mounted above the rear license plate helps provide a view of what’s behind. To help ensure the LX doesn’t get too close to the vehicle traveling ahead, the available Dynamic Radar Cruise Control16 system adjusts the throttle and applies the brakes whenever necessary, helping to maintain a pre-set following distance. Once the lane appears clear, the LX resumes its pre-set cruising speed.

A CRUISE-CONTROL SYSTEM THAT PRACTICES COMMON COURTESY.

At speeds above 6 mph, the Dual-swivel Adaptive Front Lighting System (AFS)15 rotates the headlamps to help illuminate curves ahead. Depending on steering input, the headlamps can swivel up to 9 degrees in a left turn and up to 4 degrees in a right turn. The new LED daytime running lights help make the LX more visible to oncoming motorists. And automatic headlamp washers can be set to deploy when you use the front windshield wipers.

TO SEE HOW WELL THE AUDIO SYSTEM PERFORMS,

CLOSE YOUR EYES.

With 19 speakers and 7.1-channel architecture, the available Mark Levinson® Reference Surround Sound Audio System17 provides such clarity when playing audio DVDs that listeners may actually sense the spatial position of each instrument at play. It’s all thanks to a technology called digital sound imaging, and it’s just part of what makes this audio system so unique. More partial to films than recorded music? This technology also works with the available dual-screen Rear-Seat Entertainment System (RSES),18 creating the kind of surround-sound experience you’d only expect in high-end home theaters.

You might expect the LX to perform exceptionally well over rocks and up steep grades, but it’s also engineered to handle those winding coastline highways. Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS) continually adjusts the shock absorber stiffness to help provide the most appropriate ride comfort and handling precision. At the same time, Variable Gear-Ratio Steering (VGRS) helps ensure more controlled steering response at highway speeds and reduces the steering effort required during parking-lot speeds for easier maneuvering. Finally, the TORSEN® torque-sensing limited-slip center differential22 allows the LX to efficiently distribute engine power between the front and rear axles, helping to ensure proper torque distribution and enhance vehicle control.

With a 5.7-liter V8 engine mated to a six-speed sequential-shift transmission, the LX churns out an impressive 403 lb-ft of torque20—90% of which is available at a low 2,200 RPM. It all adds up to incredible power, so you can comfortably haul all kinds of things, from a 26-foot sportboat to a two-horse trailer. Through the use of sensors, Trailer Sway Control25 detects and helps suppress any sway triggered by wind, bumpy roads or steering operation when towing a trailer.

UNSURE HOW TO ADJUST THE VEHICLE’S HEIGHT TO THE TERRAIN?

HAVE THE LX DO IT FOR YOU.

When you’re faced with the seemingly impassable, the only thing better than a vehicle that can make it over obstacles is one that can make it easy. Case in point, systems like Active Height Control (X-AHC) and Adaptive Variable Suspension (AVS). By increasing wheel articulation off-road and adjusting the vehicle’s height to the current driving conditions, the two systems work together to help provide better ground clearance and a more secure foundation, whether you’re on or off the road.

Optional equipment shown. See disclaimers on page 63.

1

When the 4WD shifts into low range, the vehicle is raised 2.0 inches in front and 2.4 inches in the rear for increased ground clearance.26

To help improve aerodynamics at higher speeds, the LX can reduce its height by 0.8 inches in front and 0.6 inches in back.26

When you’ve reached the end of your drive, the LX can adjust to its lowest position for easier entering and exiting.26

bumpy, slippery roads and steep uphills. The Multi-terrain Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) monitors things like engine output and acceleration rate and is designed to help determine the surface the LX is driving on—be it snow, ice, gravel or sand. It then selects the most suitable brake application for the current driving situation, helping to achieve shorter stopping distances on a variety of road surfaces. Likewise the four-wheel Traction Control system helps optimize off-road ground covering performance.

The LX is as capable off-road as it is on. A TORSEN® torque-sensing limited-slip center differential22 allows the LX to efficiently distribute engine power between the front and rear axles. Together, the full-time 4WD and Active Traction Control (A-TRAC) help reduce tire spin. Power is distributed to the wheels with traction, helping you drive in slick and off-road conditions. The new Multi-Terrain Select allows for selections from five different road conditions and controls wheel spin to ensure optimal ground covering performance on

WARRANTYFour-year/50,000-mile Lexus Limited Warranty. Six-year/70,000-mile Powertrain Warranty. Six-year/unlimited-mileage Corrosion Perforation Warranty. All warranties with zero deductible. See the LX Warranty and Services Guide at your Lexus dealer for details.

1. The vehicle is designed to meet most off-road driving requirements, but off-roading is inherently dangerous. Abusive use may result in bodily harm or vehicle damage. Lexus encourages responsible operation to protect you, your vehicle and the environment. Seatbelts should be worn at all times. 2. Cargo and load capacity limited by weight and distribution. 3. Lexus Enform® and Safety Connect® are available. Contact with the Lexus Enform and/or Safety Connect response center is dependent upon the telematics device being in operative condition, cellular connection availability, navigation map data and GPS satellite signal reception, which can limit the ability to reach the response center or receive emergency support. Enrollment and Telematics Subscription Service Agreement required. One-year trial subscription available only with new vehicle purchase of Lexus Enform– and Safety Connect–equipped vehicles. Additional subscription terms available; charges vary by subscription term selected. 4. Lexus Enform® premium services Destination Assist and eDestination will function in the contiguous United States. These services may also function in Hawaii and limited areas of Alaska for vehicles that contain map data for those states. They will not function in Canada or in other countries outside the United States. 5. The Safety Connect® services Automatic Collision Notification, Emergency Assistance and Stolen Vehicle Location will function in the United States, including Hawaii and Alaska, and in Canada. Enhanced Roadside Assistance will function in the United States (except for Hawaii) and in Canada. No Safety Connect services will function outside of the United States in countries other than Canada. 6. Always be sure to obey traffic regulations, maintain awareness of your surroundings and all road and traffic conditions. Select Enform apps use a large amount of data and you are responsible for all data charges. Apps and services vary by phone and carrier. Not all apps and data services are available initially. Apps identified by ™ or ® are trademarks or registered trademarks of their respective companies and cannot be used without permission. See lexus.com/enform for the latest information regarding apps and service. The Bluetooth® word mark is a registered trademark of the Bluetooth SIG. Features and capabilities vary by phone. 7. Be sure to obey traffic regulations and maintain awareness of road and traffic and conditions at all times. 8. Availability and accuracy of the information provided by the Navigation System or any siriusxm services mentioned (if installed) are dependent upon many factors. Use common sense when relying on information provided. Services not available in every city or roadway. Periodic Navigation updates available at additional cost. See your Navigation System Owner’s Manual or contact SiriusXM for details. 9. Coverage only available in the continental U.S and Canada. Please see your Lexus dealer for details. 10. All the airbag (AB) systems are Supplemental Restraint Systems. All ABs (if installed) are designed to inflate only under certain conditions and in certain types of severe collisions: frontal and knee ABs typically inflate in frontal collisions; side and side curtain ABs in side collisions; Roll-Sensing Curtain ABs at a severe tilt degree, roll or lateral G-force. In all other accidents, the ABs will not inflate. To decrease the risk of injury from an inflating AB, always wear seatbelts, sit upright in the middle of the seat as far back as possible and do not lean against the door. Do not put objects in front of an AB or around the seatback. Do not use a rearward-facing child seat in any front passenger seat. The force of an inflating AB may cause serious injury or death. Please see your Owner’s Manual for further information/warnings. 11. Bluetooth® technology phones listed on lexus.com have been tested for compatibility with Lexus vehicles. Performance will vary based on phone software version, coverage and your wireless carrier. Phones are warranted by their manufacturer, not Lexus. 12. SiriusXM services require a subscription after trial period. Subscriptions governed by SiriusXM Customer Agreement available at siriusxm.com. If you decide to continue your SiriusXM service at the end of your complimentary trial, the plan you choose will automatically renew and bill at then-current rates unless you call 1-800-967-2346 to cancel. Fees and programming subject to change. Available only to those at least 18 years of age in the 48 contiguous United States and D.C. 13. The Wide-view Front and Side Monitor does not provide a comprehensive view of the front and side areas of the vehicle. You should also look around outside your vehicle, and use your mirrors to confirm clearance. Cold weather will limit effectiveness and view may become cloudy. 14. The backup camera does not provide a comprehensive view of the rear area of the vehicle. You should also look around outside your vehicle and use your mirrors to confirm rearward clearance. Cold weather will limit effectiveness and view may become cloudy. 15. The Adaptive Front Lighting System can help improve vision at night. However, conditions such as dirty windshield, rapidly changing light conditions or hilly terrain will limit effectiveness so the driver may need to manually change the high beams from on to off. See your Owner’s Manual for details. 16. Dynamic Radar Cruise Control is designed to assist the driver and is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving practices. Please see your Owner’s Manual for important instructions and cautions. 17. Mark Levinson is a registered trademark of Harman International Industries, Inc. 18. A single-disc DVD player is standard on vehicles equipped with the dual-screen Rear-Seat Entertainment System. A separate DVD player or game system utilizing the center console’s video/audio inputs is required in order to use the split-screen function. 19. Headphones are for passenger use only. Do not use while operating vehicle. 20. Ratings achieved using the required premium unleaded gasoline with an octane rating of 91 or higher. If premium fuel is not used, performance will decrease. 21. Performance figures are for comparison only and were obtained with prototype vehicles by professional drivers using special safety equipment and procedures. Do not attempt. 22. TORSEN® is a registered trademark of Zexel Torsen, Inc. 23. Before towing, confirm your vehicle and trailer are compatible, hooked up properly and you have any necessary additional equipment. If gross trailer weight is above 5,000 lb (2,268 kg), it is necessary to use a weight-distributing hitch with sufficient capacity. Do not exceed any Weight Ratings and follow all instructions and cautions from your trailer-hitch manufacturer and vehicle Owner’s Manual. The maximum amount you can tow depends on the total weight of any cargo, occupants and available equipment. 24. Please consult your Lexus dealer or Owner’s Manual for towing and load specifications. 25. Trailer Sway Control (TSC) is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether TSC will be effective in preventing a loss of control. Please see your Owner’s Manual for further details. 26. Measurement of vehicle in Active Height Control (X-AHC) Normal setting. 27. 2013 LX vs. Competitive Large Luxury SUVs. 28. The Pre-Collision System is designed to help reduce the crash speed and damage in certain frontal collisions only. It is not a collision-avoidance system and is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving. System effectiveness depends on many factors, such as speed, driver input and road conditions. Please see your Owner’s Manual for further information. 29. Brake Assist is designed to help the driver take full advantage of the benefits of ABS. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Braking effectiveness also depends on proper brake-system maintenance and tire and road conditions. 30. 20-in or 22-in performance tires are expected to experience greater tire wear than conventional tires. Tire life may be substantially less than 20,000 (20-in) or 15,000 (22-in) miles, depending upon driving conditions. 31. 2013 EPA-estimated ratings. Actual mileage will vary. 32. Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) is an electronic system designed to help the driver maintain vehicle control under adverse conditions. It is not a substitute for safe driving practices. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver steering input can all affect whether VSC will be effective in preventing a loss of control. Please see your Owner’s Manual for further details. 33. Smart Stop Technology operates only in the event of certain simultaneous brake and gas pedal applications. When engaged, the system will reduce engine power to help the brakes bring the vehicle to a stop. Factors including speed, road conditions and driver input can all impact stopping distance. Smart Stop Technology is not a substitute for safe and attentive driving and does not guarantee instant stopping. Please see your Owner’s Manual for further details. 34. The SmartAccess system may interfere with some pacemakers or cardiac defibrillators. If you have one of these medical devices, please talk to your doctor to see if you should deactivate this system. 35. The engine immobilizer is a state-of-the-art anti-theft system. When you insert your key into the ignition switch or bring a SmartAccess fob into the vehicle, the key transmits an electronic code to the vehicle. The engine will only start if the code in the transponder chip inside the key or SmartAccess fob matches the code in the vehicle’s immobilizer. Because the transponder chip is embedded in the key or SmartAccess fob, it can be costly to replace. If you lose a key or SmartAccess fob, your Lexus dealer can help. Alternatively, you can find a qualified independent locksmith to perform high-security key services by consulting your local Yellow Pages or by contacting www.aloa.org. 36. For vehicles without available Navigation System, the Lexus Personalized Settings (LPS) Program is a one-time, complimentary offer for new vehicles for the first 12 months from the date the vehicle is sold. Vehicles with Navigation System allow the driver to change settings. Please see your Lexus dealer for more information. 37. Accessory roof rack with rails not recommended for luggage. 38. Roof rack capacity is 130 lb. Please see your Owner’s Manual for details. 39. Daily use of Pandora or iHeartRadio may have an impact on your cellar data plan. It is estimated that one hour of streaming Pandora or iHeartRadio consumes roughly 14 to 27MB of cellular data. The other third-party applications, Bing™, MovieTickets.com and OpenTable® are expected to consume a negligible amount of data. You can take a look at the data caculators provided on your cellular carrier’s website or speak with your carrier to understand what data plans would fit you the best. PANDORA,® the PANDORA® logo, and the Pandora trade dress are trademarks or registered trademarks of Pandora Media, Inc., used with permission. 40. HD Radio™ Technology manufactured under license from iBiquity Digital Corporation U.S. and Foreign Patents. HD Radio™ and the HD, HD Radio, and “Arc” logos are proprietary trademarks of iBiquity Digital Corp. 41. iPod® and iPhone® are registered trademarks of Apple Inc. All rights reserved. 42. Bluetooth® audio device must be enabled with A2DP and AVRCP. 43. HAC is designed to help minimize backward rolling on steep ascents. It is not a substitute for safe driving judgment and practices. Factors including grade, surface conditions and driver input can all affect whether HAC will be effective in preventing a loss of control. Please see your Owner’s Manual for further details. 44. The Tire Pressure Monitor System alerts the driver when tire pressure is critically low. For optimal tire wear and performance, tire pressure should be checked regularly with a gauge; do not rely solely on the monitor system. Please see your Owner’s Manual for details. 45. Active headrests can help reduce the extent of whiplash in certain types of rear-end collisions. 46. To avoid potential interference with pedal operation, do not install a floor mat on top of an existing floor mat, and each mat must be secured with retention hooks (clips). This floor mat was designed specifically for use in this model and model year vehicle and SHOULD NOT be used in any other vehicle. 47. Currently only available pre-installed on select vehicles. Ask your Dealer Sales Consultant for vehicle application. 48. Continuous average power, all channels driven, at less than 0.1% THD; 20–20,000 Hz.
