Overview WhatcanLenoir-RhyneUniversitydofor an encore? The Bears are coming off one of their bestseasonsinschoolhistory, finishingwith a 9-3 overall record and capturing their second straight South Atlantic Con-ference Championship. Inaddition,Lenoir-Rhyneearneditsfirstplayoff berthsince1962andwonitsfirstpostseason contest in 50 years with a 21-6 triumph over Fort Valley State. Naturally, itwillbedifficulttoduplicatethat kind of success but a deeper look at the team reveals a program on the brink of long-term winning. Lenoir-Rhynehasimproveditsrecordforfivestraightseasonsdatingbackto2008 and now stockpiles a roster with tal-ented upperclassmen, many of whom are third-,fourth-andfifth-yearplayerswhobenefitedfromredshirting.
