C O N T E N T S

What is X-Engine?An LED system conver ts electrons into photons through a

semiconductor. Compared to traditional lighting, LEDs require more

precise current and heat management which drive the expected

lifetime of a unit as well as the speed of light output degradation.

X-Engine = Xicato LED module + Optical Solution + Thermal management (+Driver selection)

US Patent 7942556 addresses some of the fundamental aspects of

Corrected Cold Phosphor Technology™ used in Xicato’s LE D module

products. Patent 7942540 addresses ways of changing the spectral

distribution of the light coming out of a module by manipulating the

relative position of at least one re�ector and at least one wavelength

converting area within a mixing cavity thus enabling the color point of

the module to be “tuned”.

No Color Bin - Absolutely no ‘binning’

• Each color temperatures is targeted exactly on the Black Body Locus

for perfectly natural white light.•

• Each has a very tight color point conformity with a 1 x 2 SDCM.

• LED binning becomes a thing of the past.

• Phosphor degradation due to heat is primary cause of color -shift over time.
