Te Minnesota Senatehonors our promises to Minnesotans and invests in

shared priorities or a stronger uture.

DELIVER ON OUR PROMISESWe came into this session with a

commitment to stabilize Minnesotas budgethonestly and to fnally end the decade-longroller coaster o nearly constant defcitsandthats what weve delivered.

    BALANCE OUR BUDGET DEFICIT

    WITHOUT GIMMICKS

Our budget does what Minnesotansexpectsolves our budget defcit airly andresponsibly, without accounting gimmicksand with a combination o reorms, cuts, andnew revenues.

Our reorms to the states tax system will put

a stop the endless cycle o budget defcits andpromote long-term economic growth acrossMinnesota.

    PAY BACK OUR SCHOOLS

Te previous legislature borrowed $2.4billion rom our schools. We acknowledgethe bill we owe our schools is past due andour budget will pay back our schools on tine.We made that promise to Minnesotans and

    we intend to keep it.

    INVEST IN ALL LEARNERS

Our budget makes a historic $735million investment in education or alllearnersrom early education and all-daykindergarten, to reduced class sizes andrestored equity in our K-12 system, to lowertuition and debt reduction or our collegestudents and their amilies.

    CREATE JOBS

Our plan makes $89 million in newinvestments to spur middle-class jobcreation, calling or more job training, workorce development and small businessstrategies that are proven job-creating

engines to strengthen our economy andworkorce.

For Minnesota to stay competitive in todaysglobal economy, we must train our workorceor the in-demand careers o tomorrow.

    FAIRER TAXES FOR MIDDLE CLASS

    MINNESOTANS

Over the past decade, the state has passed

its budget problems onto working amilies, squeezing the middle class. Our budgetreverses that trend, providing $441 million inproperty tax relie or Minnesota amilies.

We pay or our stable budget by asking thehighest 2% o earners to pay the income taxrates most Minnesotans have paid or years.

REJECT THE STATUS QUO OF THE

PAST AND INVEST IN OUR STATES

FUTURE For too long hard-working Minnesotans have

paid the price or irresponsible budgetingthat hasnt solved our defcits.

Our responsible budget plan turns the pageon the past and looks to a stronger, moreprosperous uture or Minnesota that investsin better education, jobs and a growingmiddle class.
