Be Beautiful Be Yourself Model Auditions Q&A:

• How should the model auditioning dress? o We suggest they wear nice clothes - something like they would wear

in the real fashion show

• Do they get to practice before the auditions - so they will know what to do? o Yes, we will do a short, optional practice prior to the judging

• By auditioning, does that mean they will be in the fashion show? o Unfortunately no – we only have a limited number of spots, so not

everyone will get to be in the show

• If they don’t get selected, can they audition again for a future fashion show? o Absolutely! We encourage everyone to audition again

• Do models that have been in a previous Be Beautiful Be Yourself Fashion Show need to audition for this year?

o Yes, everyone needs to audition again (if they are unable to attend the auditions - we may consider them on a case by case basis)

• If we can’t attend the audition, will there be another audition date? o No, at this time we only have one date scheduled for auditions

• We have friends who would love to come and support our model for the auditions - can anyone come and watch?

o YES! Everyone is welcome to come and cheer any of the models on for the auditions, but we are restricting the number of guests to 6 per model. The registration form asks for the number of people attending (we need this for food & beverage totals)

• When will we find out if they are selected as one of the models? o We hope to let everyone know within three weeks of the auditions

(however, it could be later)

• If our model is selected, does the entire family get to attend the Be Beautiful Be Yourself Gala in May?

o Each model gets one ticket for themselves and one for a parent or guardian.

o Family members are welcome to purchase a ticket.

• How much does an additional ticket cost for family members to attend the event? o For immediate family members only (parent/siblings), we offer a

special price of $250.00 (the normal ticket price is $500.00)

• If my model is shy, will that hurt their chances of getting selected? o No, we select models with different personalities

• How are the models selected from the auditions? o We have a panel of wonderful judges who will give us their

recommendations

• Are only individuals with Down syndrome invited to audition? o No, individuals with other disabilities can audition

• If I know of someone who has Down syndrome can I send them the audition form?

o Yes, please do!

• What else do I need to know for my model? o To come and have fun o Be themselves o Listen to directions o Smile

Each auditioning model will have his or her photo taken on March 15th at the auditions, and the headshots of those selected as models will be used in the event program and other materials. The Be Beautiful Be Yourself Gala will be held on Wednesday, May 8th, 2013, in Washington, DC.
