Goals Types of Graduate Scholarships Available The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) announces the availability of scholarships for Master’s and Doctorate degrees in priority S&T areas through the implementation of the Accelerated Science and Technology Human Resource Development Program. To help improve the country’s global competitiveness and capability to innovate through Science and Technology (S&T). To accelerate the production of high-level human resources needed for Research & Development (R&D) in S&T I. M/MA/MS/PhD Program II. Thesis/Dissertation Grant Support for DOST R&D priority areas Deadline of Submission of Application Priority Fields of Study Study Placement Criteria for Eligibility Agriculture, Forestry and Natural Resources Biological Sciences Biotechnology Chemical Sciences Earth, Atmospheric and Space Sciences Environmental Sciences Fisheries and Marine Science Health and Pharmaceutical Sciences Information and Communication Technology Materials Science and Nanotechnology Pure and Applied Mathematics Pure and Applied Physics National Science Consortium (NSC) Member-Universities: ADMU, CLSU, DLSU, MSU-IIT, UP Diliman, UP Los Baños, UP Manila, UP Visayas, UST, VSU An applicant must: be a Filipino citizen; not be more than 45 years old at the time of application; be in good health condition; pass the admission requirements for graduate studies at any of the NSC member-universities ; and pass the interview and other screening procedures. Documentary Requirements ASTHRDP-NSC Information Sheet/ Application Form can be downloaded at www.sei.dost.gov.ph or thru the websites of the NSC Member Universities. Birth Certificate (Photocopy) Certified True Copy of the Official Transcript of Records Endorsement from two former professors in college or from two former professors in the Master’s program for applicants pursuing PhD program If employed, must be recommended by the head of agency and secure permission to take a leave of absence while on scholarship Medical Certificate as to health status from a licensed physician indicating PRC License No. Valid NBI Clearance Letter of Admission which should include the evaluation sheet and program of study. Completed application and other documentary requirements may be submitted personally or by mail at the office of the ASTHRDP Project Leader of the desired NSC member-universities on or before the following dates: First Semester AY 2013-2014 April 19, 2013 Second Semester AY 2013-2014 September 6, 2013

    Documents to any of the Following NSC Member Universities:

    The remaining stipends shall be given to a scholar who completes his/her degree earlier than the prescribed period of study.

    1. The scholarship award shall be for full-time graduate studies for the completion of a Masters/PhD degree in any of the DOST identified priority fields.

    2. The scholar must not be employed or practicing his/her profession while on scholarship; he/she must secure approval for official leave of absence, if employed.

    3. The awardee shall execute a Scholarship Agreement with DOST.

    4. Evaluation of the academic performance of the scholar based on established policies shall be done to determine the scholarship status every semester or term.

    5. A service obligation to be rendered in the Philippines shall be required of the scholar after finishing the MS/PhD degree, i.e. one year for every year of scholarship.

    6. Refund of scholarship grant with interest shall be required of the scholar for non-completion of his/her graduate program and failure to comply with the service obligation.
