IntroductionSituated in Perth’s northern corridor, the City of Joondalup is one of the largest local governments in Western Australia with over 164,000 people currently living within the City’s boundaries. The Joondalup City Centre is located just 25 minutes north of central Perth and is renowned for its stunning 17km of coastline, natural bushland and wetlands.

The City organises a range of summer events for the enjoyment of local residents and visitors to the region. Many of the events offered are FREE to the community and attract a high level of public attention and participation. Concerts are held in beautiful suburban parks where residents and visitors can picnic and relax under the stars. Its flagship events – Valentine’s Concert and the Joondalup Festival – are renowned for their high quality as much as their diversity and are stand out events in the City’s crowded cultural calendar.

The Joondalup Festival sees the City Centre and Central Park turn into a vibrant hub of free entertainment and cultural experiences. It offers non-stop entertainment celebrating the arts, food, fashion and music, and always delivers an outstanding range of exciting and engaging cultural experiences and entertainment for the local and regional community.

The Valentine’s Concert has become an iconic event for the City and its residents. Over the past seven years it has grown to become one of the most popular events in the northern suburbs that engages and entertains 8,000 residents with a selection of world-class entertainment.

The City’s larger events are open to corporate sponsorship. Little Feet Festival 2013Sunday 10 November 2013 ECU Joondalup

Each year the City hosts Little Feet Festival, one of Perth’s most highly anticipated and popular children’s events, with activities and entertainment for children under twelve and their families. Little Feet Festival is one of the biggest children’s festivals in the north with over 5,000 people enjoying an afternoon of free entertainment and activities in the beautiful Pines Picture Gardens at Edith Cowan University, Joondalup.

Children have the opportunity to experience art and culture from around the globe without leaving Joondalup.

The Festival has been a proven, popular and significant, free community event for families in the northern suburbs for the past 21 years. The festival promotes the idea of healthy and active minds and bodies; encouraging children to think, play, move, learn and imagine.

The theme for 2013 is “Traditions and Celebrations” and children will be engaged with interactive and multicultural workshops, performance and activities educating them on the different celebrations, traditions and festivals that take place around the world.

The City works in partnership with many of its key stakeholders in the region and is seeking support from industry leaders by way of a Premier Partnership, Key Partnership or Media Partnership, as outlined in this proposal.

Music in the Park Concert Series provides a fantastic opportunity for local residents to enjoy outstanding musicians performing in local parks across the City of Joondalup. Attendances of over 10,000 people across the concert series highlight the popularity of the performances within the local community.

Music in the Park series brings blues and roots music and family-friendly entertainment to the City for three free concerts.

In 2013-2014 the City of Joondalup will host a variety of talented bands and musicians to perform at their summer concerts. The concerts offer a relaxed family-friendly atmosphere, with patrons encouraged to enjoy a leisurely picnic and the free children’s activities on offer.

The Summer Concert Series is supported by an extensive promotional campaign, guaranteed to not only draw crowds to each event, but also reinforce awareness among the wider community.

The sponsorship packages have been designed to suit your individual marketing requirements and budget. As a Premier Partner, you are a major sponsor of the entire Concert Series, with associated benefits for each event. As a Key Partner you have the choice to sponsor one concert in the series.

Valentine’s Concert 2014Thursday 13 February 2014 Joondalup Resort and Country Club

The City of Joondalup Valentine’s Concert has become an iconic event for the City and its residents over the past seven years. It has grown to become one of the most popular events in the northern suburbs that engages and entertains the local community.

The Valentine’s Concert receives a strong response from the community, with a capacity crowd of 8,000 patrons attending each year and provides an opportunity for local residents to witness world-class entertainment in Joondalup.

Held in the picture-perfect setting of Joondalup Resort on one of the golf courses championship holes, the concert typically features the cream of Australia’s musical talents and international performers with previous concerts featuring: Dan Sultan, The Whitlams and the Western Australian Youth Orchestra, David Campbell, Damien Leith, Marcia Hines, Frank Bennett, Grace Knight, the West Australian Symphony Orchestra and last year the Perth Symphony Orchestra.

The 2014 Valentine’s Concert headline act will be announced in late 2013.

• Acknowledgement as Premier Partner in all media releases promoting the Valentine’s Concert.

• Recognition as Premier Partner on social media networking sites promoting the Valentine’s Concert.

Concert Evening• Premier Partner’s brand recognition on the stage screen multimedia presentation prior to the performance.

• Premier Partner has the opportunity to present a 2 minute video presentation on a rotational basis, prior to the performance (presentation to be provided by sponsor). This will be displayed a minimum of 4 times between 5.00pm and 6.30pm as patrons enter the venue.

• Acknowledgement of Premier Partner by the Mayor at the opening of the Valentine’s Concert and at the Valentine’s Concert VIP Function.

• 2 x MC promotions.

• 6 x complimentary double passes to the VIP Valentine’s Concert event on the night, including free pre-concert drinks and cocktail food, reserved seating, reserved parking and a cheese and wine hamper.

Joondalup Festival 2014Saturday 29 and Sunday 30 March 2014 Joondalup City Centre

A new-look program for the 2013 Joondalup Festival delivered a fantastic range of cultural activities designed to bring the whole community together to participate in two days of non-stop free family-friendly fun in the Joondalup City Centre. The City will continue to deliver an outstanding range of exciting and engaging cultural experiences and entertainment for the local community at the 2014 Joondalup Festival.

The two day Festival treats festival-goers to a program of world class entertainment in the form of live performances by national and international performers, live music, workshop activities and visual delights. A key focus for the festival in 2014 is to create spaces that engage the community and encourage them to soak up the festival atmosphere for the day in the Festival Hub, Festival Gardens, Performance Lake and Alfresco Dining. 2014 presents a contemporary program influenced by the 1950s, migration and travel.

The Festival program is growing each year, presenting greater entertainment opportunities through new program components, presented by major regional partners. After 16 years the Joondalup Festival is still the largest “free” event in the northern metropolitan area and now one of the most significant annual cultural events for community participation in WA.

The City is proud of its cultural program and sees this as an opportune time to share and celebrate the benefits of its success with an external party through corporate sponsorship of the 2014 Joondalup Festival. Combination Sponsorship AGREE NOW to sponsor one of the summer events for the next three years and you will receive a 10% discount off the 2013/2014 price for the following two years, for a package of equal or greater value (payable annually).

If you AGREE to sponsor more than one event or program with the City of Joondalup in 2013/2014, then a 10% discount will be offered for each subsequent sponsorship agreement which is of lesser value.

Other SuggestionsThe sky is the limit and this is your chance to be creative with your marketing strategy. Signage*A note on signage:

Each of the sponsorship packages offers signage opportunities to sponsors willing to supply signage suitable for outdoor use. Suitable signage is:

• 5 metre tear-drop banners with a weighted base no less than 5kg.

• Vinyl or mesh banner no larger than 1500mmW x 1000mmH.

Please note – retractable pull up banners are not suitable for outdoor use. The City can provide further information on suitable signage if required.

All signage is required to be delivered and collected from the City two weeks prior to each event at the sponsor’s expense.
