Discipleship Training Begins Today at 4:30 p.m. Step By Step through the Old Testament Surveys the message and important events, people, places, and themes of the Old Testament. In this course you will: 1) build a frame- work for understanding and interpreting the Old Testament, 2) gain an understanding of the biblical background needed for a lifetime of meaningful study of God’s Word, and 3) respond to God as He speaks to you through His Word. Facilitator: Steve Horn Room: Assembly 2 Experiencing God God is inviting you to experience Him in an intimate love relationship through which He reveals to you His will, His ways, and His work. Through the biblical principles in this course, God can teach you how to: 1) know when He is speaking to you, 2) recognize His activity around you, 3) adjust your life to Him and His ways, 4) identify what He wants to do through you, and 5) respond to His activity in your life. Facilitators: Gary Rufϔin and Julie Fossier Room: Assembly 3 Gideon: Your Weakness. God’s Strength When we hear the name Gideon, most of us think about 300 soldiers, or the fleece laid out under the evening sky, but Gideon's story is bigger than that. It’s a story about God and His people, His love for them, as well as His strength in spite of their weakness. Gideon's story is about us - our lives, our doubts, our struggles, and our possibilities as believers. Facilitator: Lee Ann Iles Room: E205 1 and 2 Timothy Paul writes to Timothy, his “true son in the faith,” with instructions so that he “may strongly engage in battle, having faith, and a good conscience.” In these two letters, Paul deals with the qualifications of church leaders, in- structions for ministry, false doctrine, and the difficulties and struggles of the Christian life. This course practices Homiletics in the study of 1 and 2 Timothy. Bring your Bible, a pen, and notepad. Facilitator: Kay Davidson Room: E203 Life’s Healing Choices In addition to practical, encouraging biblical teaching, each session includes two real-life stories of men and women whose lives have been transformed by living out the eight choices presented in the course. Through making each of these choices, you too will ϐind God's pathway to wholeness, growth, spiritual maturity, happiness, and healing. You'll ϐind real answers, real hope, and a real future - one healing choice at a time. Facilitator: Bob Rayburn Room: Assembly 1 New Support Group Begins at 4:30 p.m. Today In this 13 week, Christ-centered group, adult survivors of child- hood sexual abuse are assured that there is a way out of the rage, fear, and confusion. It also offers their spouses, families, friends, and counselors specific ways to help the healing process. Meets at 917 S.
