Reasons to Celebrate!

Pastor’s Corner

By the time you read this, the Mission Team

will already be on the ground in Jimini,

Dominican Republic. Please uphold this team

in your prayers as they seek to serve and

sweat for Christ to the Chadasha Haitian

orphans.

Since the summer brings a rapid change of

pace to schedules and activities, don’t forget

to join in on the fun! PCH takes a collective

deep breath over the summer as we evaluate

the previous year and plan for the coming

one. If you get a chance, be sure to thank

your ministry leaders and/or small group and

Sunday School teachers. Take them to lunch

or send them a card for all the work, planning,

and preparation they have made throughout

the year without any compensation; these are

individuals that simply felt called to serve. Let

us not take them for granted, but join our

hearts to show our appreciation for our

teachers and leaders. Words of appreciation

and encouragement cannot be used enough.

Let us praise God for the 20% who do 80% of

the work. Well done!

Meet Andy & Shannon Orrell and their kids, Madison & Nate. They joined by letter of transfer from Hope Presbyterian Church in Clearwater. They have been attending PCH for about two months and felt hooked from their very first visit!

Next, there is Ryan & Lisa Moore, with their kids, Mason & Kendal. The Moore family joins by letter of transfer from St. John Newman. Lisa has been volunteering for the PCH youth programs for nearly two years

now and Ryan is lending his talents in assisting with prop construction for this year’s Lego Vacation Bible School!

We welcome both of these great families to PCH! If you haven’t done so yet, introduce yourself next time you see them around.

Adult

Ministries Swing into

Summer Fun!

The Adult Ministries Team is excited about the kick-off of our summer activities here at PCH! There is truly something for everyone, whether you are actively participating or cheering from the sidelines. This summer will bring a break from the ordinary as we build up our friendships, relax, and have some fun. This is a great opportunity to invite a friend, neighbor, or co-worker to experience our PCH family. Mark your calendars and we will see you there!

All Sunday School Classes, Circles, and Small Groups are on Summer Break! This means our teachers and group leaders/facilitators get to enjoy a much deserved rest, too! A big THANK YOU goes out to our teachers and group leaders for all that you do for the discipleship programs at PCH! The Friday morning Women’s Circle will resume on September 20th, with the Horizon’s Bible study on Exodus & Deuteronomy. The cost for the study will be only $5. This Circle will also host a salad luncheon on Saturday, September 14th, for the PW Gathering. The program speaker will be Robin Powell; she will be sharing her experiences on the PW mission trip this summer to the Appalachians. Other small group & Sunday school topics will be confirmed over the summer, so share your ideas with your group leaders today! Feel free to contact me with any ideas or suggestions as well: [email protected] or 559-7372.

After considering the wishes and

needs of a number of our faithful

members, The Worship Arts

Team and Session decided to

return to the previous worship

schedule that we enjoyed prior to

the start of our Contemporary

Worship Service (September

2012).

Therefore, please note that

starting on JUNE 2nd, our

Sunday morning worship

schedule will return to 10:30 am

and last for one full hour. This

time schedule will provide

additional time to study and

worship our Lord and Savior.

Following our relaxing summer

b r e a k , t h e t i m e f o r

the worship service will remain

the same (10:30am). Sunday

School classes for adults and

children do not meet during the

summer months to allow our

teachers to enjoy a summer

break. Sunday School classes will

resume in the fall. Children's

Church will still be available each

and every Sunday morning after

the Children's Message during the

worship service.

WORSHIP &

SUNDAY

SCHOOL

CHANGES

We are going to “Build a Better Life” with this

month’s mission that is focused on Vacation

Bible School! Early registration has already

proved to be a great turn out and we are

projecting up to 100 kids this year...so we need YOUR help! Our VBS

theme this year is “LEGO”. Here are some items we could use for

GIVE AWAYS: LEGO stickers, LEGO pencils, LEGO erasers, &

LEGO men/women. For CRAFTS, we need: LEGO blocks, fishing

string, permanent markers, paint, & scissors. MONETARY

DONATIONS will be used to purchase the obstacle course style bounce

house ($425) and also LEGO construction sets ($9.99 - $500).
