or sent by post, or completed on-line must be in the Society’s possession at its Administration Office by 5.00 pm on the closing dates listed in the Closing Date of Entries table.

• Postal entry forms and fees will be accepted up to and including entries postmarked on or before the official closing date. It is suggested for exhibitors to use Registered Post for postal entries to confirm arrival at RA&HS.

• A late entry option is offered under the following conditions: Received or postmarked within 7 days of the official closing date and A fee equivalent to three times the standard entry fee per class is to be paid.

• The Late Entry option is not available on-line.

• When sending entry forms and fees by post, the onus is on the the exhibitor to ensure adequate delivery time.

• Entry forms by facsimile will not be accepted.

• If you require formal acknowledgement that your entry has been received, please include a stamped, self-addressed envelope with your entry form.

PRIZE MONEY AND GSTPrize money as stated in the Prize Schedule does not include GST.The prize money which we pay to successful exhibitors depends on information provided to us. If you confirm that you are GST registered and provide your Australian Business Number (ABN), we will pay the appropriate prize money plus 10% GST. We will provide you with a Recipient Created Tax Invoice which you will need to submit to the Australian Taxation Office.In entering the competition, you acknowledge your agreement to the following: • You will not issue a tax invoice to the

RA&HS in respect to prize money received; • You will notify the RA&HS if you cease to be

registered for GST. If you provide your Australian Business Number but are not registered for GST, we will pay the prize money as detailed in the Prize Schedule without reference to the GST.If you confirm you are entering as part of a private recreational pursuit or hobby, we will pay the prize money as detailed in the Prize Schedule without reference to GST.

IMPORTANTIt is important that you either:• Confirm you are entering as part of a private

recreational pursuit or hobby, or • Confirm you are entering as a GST registered

business and supply your ABN Failure to do either of the above will cause the RA&HS to withhold 48.5% of your prize money in accordance with Australian tax legislation. The RA&HS is not a tax consultant and therefore assumes no liability for actions taken as a result of these guidelines. In any instances where an entrant or sponsor is uncertain of the tax implications of their involvement, they should consult their own accountant or tax advisor.

PAYMENT OF PRIZE MONEYEFT is a more efficient form of payment of prize money. Exhibitors are requested to nominate bank account details on the space provided on the entry form to facilitate prompt payment of prize money. Exhibitors who do not nominate a bank account may be paid by cheque by indicating on the entry form. Please note – payment by cheque will be made after EFT payments are processed.Please note that cheques will be made out in the name of the exhibitor. If you do not have an account in the name you have entered under, you will need to be paid via EFT.To assist the Society, would you please ensure cheques are deposited promptly into a bank account. Replacement prize cheques will be issued up to 31 December 2012, however a fee of $10 may be charged. If the cheque to be replaced is not returned then an additional fee will be charged to cover the cost of cancellation. Any concerns regarding prize money must be raised with the Society by 31 December.

SPECIAL AWARDSChampions will be selected from first prize winners, and Reserve Champions from remaining first prize winners and the second prize winner in the class that supplied the Champion.If one sheep of a pair is awarded the Championship, the owner of the second prize winning pair has the right to parade the second prize winning pair for the Reserve Championship award. The judge shall have the right to select a sheep from a placegetting pair, to be eligible for the Championship for all breeds other than Merino.Judges are empowered to withhold prizes in any class without assigning any reason therefore.

SHEEP 3

REGISTRATION OF SHEEPAll sheep shall be registered in a recognised Flock Book and shall conform to the regulations contained therein. Registration is not required for wethers entered in the School Wether Competition.All exhibitors must be a current financial member of their respective Breed Society. Any sheep not complying with the above conditions may forfeit any prize or prizes which may have been awarded.

ARRIVAL OF SHEEPRefer to timetables on inside of front cover and in the Merino, Poll Merino, Prime SAMM section.Exhibitors will be required to remove their vehicles immediately sheep have been unloaded and penned.Exhibitors not removing their vehicles will be subject to a penalty.Exhibitors expecting to arrive before 8 am or after 11.00 am on Wednesday and before 8 am on Thursday are requested to notify the Pastoral Committee in writing 2 weeks prior to the start of the Show.Sheep will be housed in the Sheep Pavilion on the western boundary of the Showground, close to the Leader Street entrance.

ENTRY GATETuesday 4 September– entry at any time via Leader Street Gate.Wednesday 5 September and Thursday 6 September– sheep will only be admitted between 8.00 am and 11.00 am. Entry will be via the Leader Street Gate.Merino, Poll Merino, Prime SAMM.Sheep will enter through the Leader Street Gate

DEPARTURE OF SHEEPRefer to timetables on inside of front cover and in the Merino, Poll Merino, Prime SAMM section.Applications for permits to remove sheep must be lodged with the Sheep Supervisor as follows;Breeds other than Merino – after completion of Elite Sale on Sunday 9 September and 8 am to 2 pm on Monday 10 September .Merino and Poll Merino – after the Sheep Sale on Friday 14 September and 2.00 pm to 4.00 pm on Saturday, 15 September.Animals must not have been exposed to any communicable/notifiable disease/s within 14 days prior to the show.

INSPECTIONSObjective measurement figures must be displayed on pen cards before inspections and all sheep must be placed in the correct pens. Sheep found to be in the wrong pen at time of inspection will be disqualified.

STOCK TRUCK PARKINGAn area at Morphettville Racecourse is available for the parking of stock trucks during the Royal Adelaide Show. For further information, please contact Tara Weygood on (08) 8210 5213.

INTERSTATE EXHIBITORSA National Sheep Health Statement must accompany all interstate sheep to the Show, and be produced before unloading, to Society official at the Showground. Failure to do so shall exclude the stock from the Show.

NLIS TAGSAll sheep must be NLIS compliant. This means all animals must be tagged with an approved NLIS eartag (including lambs at foot), and accompanied by a completed National Vendor Declaration (NVD) or approved alternative movement document available at pir.sa.gov.au The RA&HS of SA will notify the database of all movements onto the Showground on behalf of exhibitors.

PEN ALLOCATIONPlease advise total number of sheep excluding lambs at foot on the entry form. Any exhibitor wishing to move their sheep must notify the office and obtain the Supervisor’s permission.

RESTRICTIONS ON ENTRIESAll exhibitors, except for Group Classes drawn from general classes, will be permitted to make only two entries in any one class.There shall be no restrictions on the number of entries in any one class in the Merino Section.Owners of two or more registered studs may show sheep on behalf of each stud.Sheep may not compete in more than one class, except where otherwise specified.Lambs at foot are eligible to compete in Lamb classes.There is no restriction on the number of entries for objective measurement classes.Should the number of entries exceed the accommodation available, the Society reserves the right to further restrict the number of entries.

EXHIBITSAll sheep when penned, shall be under the control of the Society’s officials for the purpose of being placed before the Judge for decision, and shall not be removed or withdrawn from competition by the exhibitor.Ineligible sheep may be removed at the discretion of the committee.All exhibits must be the bona fide property of the exhibitor on the day of entry.

4 SHEEP

LAMBPLAN LAMB PRODUCTION CLASSESAll exhibits must display performance figures during judging. Any exhibits not adhering to this regulation will be disqualified.

TECHNICAL REFERENCE COMMITTEEA Technical Reference Committee appointed by the Society shall –1. Determine ages of sheep.2. Discard those not shorn in accordance with

shearing regulations.3. Discard those not complying with tattooing

regulations.4. Discard Other Than Merino sheep whose

teeth have been tampered with.5. Discard any sheep which are not in a

satisfactory show condition.6. Discard Other Than Merino sheep whose

testicles do not meet acceptable standard.The decisions of the Committee shall be conclusive and binding.The Committee shall be so directed, that in determining exhibits’ ages other than Poll Dorset and White Suffolk sheep in the under 1½ year classes shall not be showing more than two permanent teeth up through the gums. Any sheep disqualified because of not complying with this regulation will be permitted to transfer to another class.Both rams and ewes may be accepted for over 1½ year and under 2½ year classes even if they are showing up to six teeth, except for Merino and Poll Merino March Shorn classes, where sheep may show no more than four teeth up or through the gums, if in the Committee’s opinion they are otherwise eligible. The age of Poll Dorset and White Suffolk exhibits shall be determined by the exhibit’s birth date. Merino sheep showing more than two permanent teeth up or through the gums, and entered in the under 1½ year classes, will not be transferred to another class, unless shorn and tagged in accordance with the shearing regulations.The age of sheep shall be taken as at 1 September of the current year.

Merino and Poll MerinoThe opinion of the Technical Reference Committee will determine the number if permanent teeth up or through the gums for each exhibit.

DISPLAY AND SALE CARDSDisplay and Sale Cards shall be A4 size only.

EXHIBIT CARDSExhibitors are requested not to remove withdrawn animal’s exhibit cards from pens before judging.

STUD NAMES/PREFIXESStud names/prefixes shall not be permitted on sheep handler/holders in the judging ring.

EXHIBITORS PLEASE NOTEThe use of personal electric jugs is not permitted in the Sheep Pavilion.

KED, LICESheep infested with ked, lice or any notifiable disease are ineligible for competition, and exhibitors, on notification of infestations, must immediately remove such animals from the Showground or they will be removed at the exhibitor’s expense. Exhibitors please note: long wool lice treatment is not acceptable for sheep entered in the Royal Adelaide Show.

PEN CLEANINGExhibitors shall, to the satisfaction of the Sheep Supervisor:1. Keep each pen allotted to them, and their

sheep, in a clean and proper condition throughout the Show.

2. Clean out their pens not later than 8 am each day.

3. Refrain from sweeping into gangways after 8 am each day.

PENALTY FOR NON-EXHIBITION OF ANIMALSEvery animal entered must be exhibited unless a certificate signed by the exhibitor is lodged with the Society at least 14 days before the opening day of the Show, stating that the animal is unable to compete for one of the following reasons:1. the animal has died,2. the animal is unfit for exhibition due to

injury or disease,3. the animal has become ineligible for the

class entered,4. some other cause which the Society

considers reasonable.

HORMONESAs stipulated in the Society General Regulations - Prohibited Drugs,

sheep which have been treated with hormones are NOT ELIGIBLE for entry or for exhibition at the Royal Adelaide Show. The RA&HS reserves the right to test

any animal that is entered for the Show.

SHEEP 5

Any later scratching's must also be notified either by a statutory declaration signed by the exhibitor or a certificate signed by the exhibitor, together with an explanatory certificate of a veterinary surgeon.Exhibitors who do not comply with this rule will be fined $20 for each animal not exhibited (a margin of 10% is allowed).

WASHING OF LEGSWashing the legs of sheep on RA&HS premises will not be permitted.

FRAUDULENT OR DISCREDITABLE CONDUCTAny person who is proved to have been guilty of any fraudulent or discreditable conduct in connection with any entry or exhibit, may, in addition to forfeiting all prize money awarded, be debarred from competing or winning a prize at any Show held by this Society for such period as the Council may decide.No member of the Inspection Committee shall sign an Inspection Certificate until he has seen one member of the Committee actually measure the length of the wool staple on each of the sheep mentioned in the Inspection Certificate and is satisfied that the wool is of the requisite length.Neither the Association nor any member of the Committee shall be responsible for any damage done to, or injuries sustained by any sheep in the course of an inspection, whether as a direct or indirect result of the punching of the ear of any sheep, and/or the affixing of the ear tag or otherwise. Every owner of sheep submitted for inspection shall sign an agreement whereby he shall exonerate the Association and the members of the Inspection Committee from any such liability. The Association shall not be liable to pay to any member of the said Inspection Committee any fee or other consideration for services rendered as an Inspector, nor shall the Association be liable to pay any expenses incurred by the exhibitor and/ or the members of the Inspection Committee in connection with the making of any inspection.

INTERSTATE SHEARING INSPECTIONSInspections of shearing in other States will be accepted by the Society and must be included with entry form.

CLEAN TAGSTo facilitate identification and inspection, all ears and ear tags must be clean before sheep are penned.

MOST SUCCESSFUL EXHIBITOR AWARDSThe following formula will be used to calculate the Most Successful Exhibitor awards at this year’s Royal Adelaide Show.In classes with 1 to 6 exhibits; 3 points for first, 2 points for second and 1 point for third.In classes with 7 to 10 exhibits; 4,3,2,1 points.In classes with 11 to 15 exhibits; 5,4,3,2,1.In classes with 16 exhibits or over; 6,5,4,3,2,1.In any class if, (e.g.), two seconds are awarded, the points allocated for 2nd and 3rd will be totalled and divided equally between the two second place winners. If a tie exists a count back approved by the Society will be made to determine the winner.

JOHNE’S DISEASEPlease note the following requirements for exhibitors of sheep in relation to Johne’s Disease at the Royal Adelaide Show:• Exhibitors in the MAP must have a minimum

score of 4 assessment points.• Exhibitors NOT in the MAP must have a

minimum score of 4 assessment points with proof of approved vaccinations.

Points and proof of vaccination must be provided at the time of entry.

REGULATIONS FOR ALL BREEDS OF SHEEP(Including Lambplan Lamb production classes)2012 Brucellosis RequirementsSheep entered at the 2012 Royal Adelaide Show must be from an ovine Brucellosis free accredited flockNOTE: Entries will not be processed unless the ovine Brucellosis free accredited flock number is stated on the entry form.All interstate breeders must supply a copy of an Accreditation Free Document from their State Health Department.

Teeth The following applies to all sheep:1. Teeth should meet the pad evenly.2. There should be no gap between the teeth

and pad.3. The jaw must not extend beyond the pad.

The Royal Agricultural & Horticultural Society of SA makes every attempt to ensure that all information contained within this schedule is correct at the time of printing, however the RA&HS

retains the right to change such details as may be required.

6 PRIME LAMB AND MATERIAL BREEDS

Corriedale Sheep Shown in Wool Exhibitors must state the number of days of growth of wool of each exhibit. Unless otherwise stated Drysdale exhibits must have been shorn between 1 March and 31 March in the current year. Suffolk exhibits shown in wool must have been shorn between 1 February and 31 March in the current year.

Dorset Horn It is optional for all Dorset Horn entries to have their horns cut at eye level.

FODDERThe Royal Adelaide Show Fodder Store is run by Keelan Grain and Fodder. Orders can be placed with them on site or by phone on (08) 8362 4178. Please note that no deliveries by vehicle can be made after 8.30 am. daily, so ordering the day before is preferred. Supplies must be hand trucked at other times.Exhibitors may bring and store in the stock pavilions their basic fodder requirements.

Any exhibitor who, in the opinion of the committee, has more fodder than is considered necessary will be required to remove the excess from the Showground.Exhibitors must not solicit orders for fodder on the Showground.

STRAW TICKETSAll Sheep exhibitors will receive straw tickets included with the Notice to Exhibitors prior to the Show.Tickets will be issued at the rate of (1) one bale per (2) two sheep and can be redeemed at times to be specified.Any additional straw requirements will be the responsibility of the exhibitor.

3. Sheep may be entered in any class of the exhibitors choice, provided that a sheep entered in the; Fine shall carry not more than 19.4 microns Medium shall carry not more than 21.5 microns Strong no limits As indicated by the mid-side sample tested (refer 1 & 2 above)

5. Master sheets of test results in stud order to be made available to the Technical Reference Committee prior to inspection.

6. a. Cards indicating regulation eartag number, micron, SD, C/V and C/F are to be produced. b. Cards are to be placed in the pen adjacent to the exhibit pen card, prior to inspection by the Technical Reference Committee. Cards are to be placed on the back of the head card prior to judging.

7. Judge can refer to the test figures as displayed on each exhibit if he wishes.

Wool Quality Wool quality of all sheep exhibited will be determined by the wool test results not their visual counts.

Shearing Each sheep (other than those entered in March Shorn Classes) may be shorn before, on, or after the fifteenth day of August of the year preceding the Royal Adelaide Show at which it is to be exhibited, but at the time of inspection of such sheep, it shall carry only such wool as having regard to natural growth, and shall not exceed in length the equivalent of 12.5 mm as at 15 August.An Inspection Committee, as is hereinafter mentioned, shall inspect all sheep to be exhibited in all classes other than under 1½ years old. This inspection shall be made by 23 September preceding such Royal Adelaide Show. The intending exhibitor shall be responsible for arranging the inspection and seeing that it is carried out.If any sheep is inspected after 15 August of the year preceding the show, the Inspection Committee shall allow a growth at the rate of one millimetre per three days with a 30 day cut off date for wool length being 15 September, with a maximum allowable length of 22.5 mm as at 15 September preceding such Show. Sheep inspected after 15 September may be late tagged to the maximum allowable length of 22.5 mm.No sheep being 18 months or over at the commencement of the said Royal Adelaide Show shall be eligible for exhibition at that Show unless it bears the Association’s inspection tag corresponding with the Certificate of Inspection.Any sheep under 18 months shall not be eligible for Championship or Grand Championship awards unless shorn and tagged in accordance with the shearing regulations.

Shearing – March Shorn Classes The conditions for March Shorn classes are exactly the same as above with the exception that sheep may be shorn before, on or after 1 March of the current year, but at the time of inspection of such sheep it shall carry such wool as having regard to natural growth and shall not exceed in length the equivalent of 12.5 mm as at 1 March.If any sheep is inspected after 1 March of the current year, the Inspection Committee shall allow a growth at the rate of one millimetre per three days, with a 30 day cut off date for wool length being 1 April, with a maximum allowable length of 22.5 mm as at 1 April of the current year. Inspection of Sheep All sheep must be inspected by a Committee comprising two Inspectors, both of whom shall be Members of the South Australian Stud Merino Sheepbreeders’ Association contained in a Panel of Member inspectors filed by the Association with the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia. No such Committee Member shall bear any relationship to the owner or have any financial interest in any flock submitted for inspection.No members of the Inspection Committee shall sign an Inspection Certificate until he has seen one member of the Committee actually measure the length of the wool of each of the sheep mentioned in the Inspection Certificate, with an approved measuring device and is satisfied that the wool is of the requisite length.After each such inspection the Committee must affix an ear tag in the unregistered ear of the sheep inspected. With the permission of the Committee the owner may affix the tag. To enable the ear tags to be affixed, the Committee may authorise the owner or one of their number to punch the ear of the sheep.Any ear tag affixed by or with the permission of the Inspection Committee shall be made of approved material and shall bear approved lettering on one side - together with the year of inspection and on the other side shall be branded with an identification number and letter.

Interstate Exhibitors A Sheep Health Statement must accompany all interstate sheep to the show and be produced before unloading to an inspector of stock at the showground. Failure to do so shall exclude the stock from the show.

Interstate Shearing Inspections Inspections of shearing in other States will be accepted by the Society and must be included with entry form.

2012 Brucellosis Requirements Sheep entered at the 2012 Royal Adelaide Show must be from an ovine Brucellosis free accredited flock.

NOTE: Entries will not be processed unless the ovine Brucellosis free accredited flock number is stated on the entry form.All interstate Breeders must supply a copy of an Accreditation Free Document from their State Health Department.

NLIS TAGSAll sheep must be NLIS compliant. This means all animals must be tagged with an approved NLIS eartag (including lambs at foot), and accompanied by a completed National Vendor Declaration (NVD) or approved alternative movement document available at pir.sa.gov.au

Certificate of Inspection After inspection the Committee shall issue an Inspection Certificate covering all sheep inspected by them. This Certificate shall be in the form prescribed by the Association and shall be signed in triplicate by each member of the Inspection Committee; one copy (yellow) of this Inspection Certificate shall be handed to the owner of the sheep inspected, the other two copies shall be forwarded to the Executive Officer of the Association who will hand one copy to the Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society by 15 November and 30 June respectively.A copy of the shearing certificate of inspection must accompany interstate tagged entries.Every such Inspection Certificate shall contain particulars of the following:1. Date of inspection.2. Date of shearing as certified by owner.3. Age of each sheep.4. The registered ear mark of each sheep.5. Any brands, ear marks or tattoo marks.6. The letters and numbers of the Association’s

official ear tags.7. Horn brands or other distinguishing marks.8. Details of ear tags destroyed by Inspection

PRIZE and WAL HENNESSY MEMORIAL TROPHY Objective Measurement Class for Merino and Poll Merino Rams For rams showing four or more teeth (over two years). Bred by the exhibitor. Regulation August/September shorn. Results will not be included in The Most Successful Exhibitor awards. To be judged and objectively measured for both wool and body on Friday. Wool objectively measured from a mid-side sample officially taken by The SA Stud Merino Sheepbreeders' Association collection team prior to the Show. Interstate entrants sample collected as per their state regulations. Tested by AWTA Laserscan. Measurements are F/D, CV, SD, CF, yield and staple strength. Exhibitor to pay the cost of the sample testing and shearing. Sheep to be shorn and judged after shearing at the Show. Fleece will be commercially valued, using the twelve month average for micron and yield, as supplied by AWI, per sample test results and the actual greasy fleece weight of the shorn fleece. The Technical Reference Committee reserves the right to disqualify any sheep that does not meet breed standards. Scanogram tests will be conducted after shearing at the Show. Animal Exhibitors Public Liability Insurance (Explanation) WHEREAS The Royal Agricultural and Horticultural Society of South Australia has agreed to effect a Public Liability insurance for certain Animal Exhibitors at the 2012 Adelaide Show, the following applies:-

Description of Cover Insurance in respect of the Insured Party’s liability to pay costs and compensation in respect of loss of or damage to third party property and death of or injury to third party persons or for advertising liability caused by and arising out of the Insured activities, all subject to the RAHSSA‟s policy terms, conditions, exclusions and warranties, etc.

Important Conditions Non-Disclosure If you fail to comply with your duty of disclosure, the insurer may be entitled to reduce his liability under the contract in respect of a claim or may cancel the contract.

If your non-disclosure is fraudulent, the insurer may also have the option of avoiding the contract from its beginning.

Average Provision The insurer will pay legal expenses in addition to the sum insured, if however, the total amount of the loss (less legal expenses) ultimately paid to the claimant(s) exceeds the sum insured then insurers will only pay (in addition to the sum insured) that proportion of the legal expenses as the sum insured bears to the loss.

Third Party Interests This policy will only provide cover for your interest and does not cover the interests of any third party (e.g. financiers, lessors, etc) unless the interests of the third party are noted in the policy.

Waiver of Insurer's Rights You must not enter into any agreement without the written authority of the insurer whereby any of their rights to which they become entitled as your insurer after settling or agreeing to settle a claim are prejudiced or limited in any way otherwise all benefit under the policy will be forfeited.

COMPETITIVE EXHIBITORSConditions of Entry

HAZARD REPORTINGCompetitors must notify the Area/Pavilion Supervisor or the Venue Management Office immediately of any hazards detected. Hazards are any situation which has the potential to cause:1. Injury, illness or death to people or animals

either immediately or in the future2. Damage or destruction to property

INCIDENT REPORTINGCompetitors must notify the Area/Pavilion Supervisor or the Venue Management Office immediately an incident occurs which has resulted in:1. The injury, illness or death of any person or

animal 2. The damage, destruction or loss of property3. A near miss incident that could have resulted

in the consequences listed in 1 and 2

WASTE DISPOSALAll waste including liquids must be disposed of responsibly. Storm drains must not be used for the disposal of any waste.

HAZARD MINIMISATIONAll areas must be kept in a clean and tidy order with clearly defined and available access and exit routes at all times. Build up of combustible waste must be avoided.Care must be taken to minimise trip hazards and obstacles that people may walk into. Avoid laying unprotected cables or pipes on or above paths, walkways or roads.

HAZARDOUS MATERIALSThe RA&HS are to be advised of all hazardous materials that are to be brought onto the Showground. Appropriate warning signs and Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) will need to be provided before allowing these materials on site.

MEDIA COMMENTSAny public comment on emergencies, incidents or other venue matters should only come from the RA&HS. The key media spokesperson for the RA&HS is the Marketing Manager.

DUTY OF CAREAll competitors have a “Duty of Care” to avoid exposing themselves or other people to situations which could lead to injury. This “Duty of Care” extends to the prevention of damage to property.

LIABILITY AND INDEMNITY1. Release Entry to and remaining on the Showground

is entirely at the risk of the Exhibitor and to the maximum extent permitted by law, the Exhibitor releases the Society (which term includes in this clause the Society’s officers, employees, members and agents), from all claims and demands of every kind resulting from any accident, damage or injury occurring at the Showground, and without limitation, the Exhibitor acknowledges:

(a) the Society has no responsibility or liability for any loss, damage or injury to or caused by any Exhibit;

(b) the Society has no responsibility or liability for any loss, damage or injury to or caused by any Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees and Agents;

(c) the Society has no responsibility or liability for any loss, damage or injury to a Motor Vehicle or any of its contents whilst it is located on the Showground; and

(d) without limiting Regulations 1 (a) and 1 (b) above, the Society has no responsibility or liability for any loss, damage or injury resulting from the sale, treatment, failure to treat, destruction, disposal or other dealing with any Exhibit, or for loss, damage or injury to any personal belongings, equipment or property brought onto the Showground.

2 Indemnity To the maximum extent permitted by law,

the Exhibitor must indemnify and keep indemnified the Society and its officers, employees, members and agents from and against all actions, claims, demands, losses, damages, costs, expenses and liabilities including without limitation, consequential loss and loss of profits for which the Society is or may be or become liable in respect of or arising from:

(a) loss, damage or injury to any person in connection with the Exhibit or the relevant Event;

(b) without limiting Regulation 2(a), loss, damage or injury to any other Exhibit or Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees, Agents, or to the property of the Society, or its members, or to the general public, caused or contributed to or by any act or omission of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor or by the Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees or Agents; and

(c) without limiting Regulation 2(a), loss, damage or injury to the Exhibit, or the Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees, or Agents caused or contributed by an act or omission of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor or by the transportation, feeding or housing of an Exhibit of the Exhibitor.

3 Removal from Showground Without prejudice to any other provision

in these Regulations, where the Society, its officers, employees, members or agents removes an Exhibit, or causes an Exhibit to be removed from the Showground, the Exhibit is removed or caused to be removed entirely at the risk of the Exhibitor. The person or persons removing the Exhibit will be deemed to be the agent of the Exhibitor, and his or her acts and omissions will be deemed to be the acts and omissions of the Exhibitor.

4. Insurance The Society will arrange Compulsory Owner’s

Liability insurance cover for all Exhibitors of Exhibits being animals. The Exhibitor is bound by the terms and conditions of this insurance and by Statutory Duties as defined under the Insurance Contracts Act (1984). Details of the Compulsory Owner’s Liability insurance are set out in the Relevant Schedule

5. Personal effects The Society has no responsibility or liability

for any loss or damage caused to personal belongings, equipment or property which is brought onto the Showground by an Exhibitor, his or her family, invitees or Agents.

EMERGENCY INFORMATIONEmergency information and Emergency Assembly Points for the various animal pavilions and stables will be included with Exhibitor Entry Detail Returns and Notice to Exhibitor mail outs. Competitors should be familiar with these plans.

FIRST AIDDuring the Royal Adelaide Show, St John Ambulance provides First Aid Services but it is suggested that competitors have a basic First Aid kit if minor injuries are a possibility.

RA&HS EMERGENCY FACILITIESFire fighting and other emergency equipment must not be removed or used for any other purpose. Missing or unserviceable equipment should be reported to the Venue Management Office immediately.

SMOKINGThe RA&HS Smoking Code does not permit smoking inside buildings, within 10 metres of a building entrance, around combustibles, during public performances or while handling hazardous materials.

TRAFFIC CONTROLThe RA&HS Traffic Control Code imposes speed restrictions within the Showground. For the duration of the Royal Adelaide Show the speed limit is 10 kph.The use of vehicles inside the Showground is closely managed during the Royal Adelaide Show. Conditions of entry will be provided with the issue of Vehicle Entry Permits.

ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT1. All extension cords and electrical appliances

must be tested and tagged in accordance with current legislation as per Australian Standards 3760.

2. Power boards with overload protection can only be used at the discretion of the Venue Manager.

3. The use of double adaptors is strictly prohibited.

4. Appliances and power cables must not be used or laid through any area that may become wet.

5. Power cables must not be laid across walkways, paths, roads or any area where damage could occur to the cable.

6. Bar (resistance) heaters are strictly prohibited.7. Light sockets must not be used for any other

purpose
