TThroughout our 50-year history we have been blessed with an extraordinary caliber of men on our Board of Trustees.
At a time of simcha, we reflect on those beloved Board Members who are no longer with us. Their many acts of kindness and good deeds live on in the hearts and minds
of all who knew them and those who benefited from their kindness.

IN EVERLASTING TRIBUTE
TO THE REBBE
2012 is turning out to be an auspicious year, not only for me but also for my whole family. In 1964, my family and I were privileged to meet the world-renowned religious leader, the Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson.
Looking back, it seems that the reason for my existence was to begin a process of reincarnation. For thirty years, a large part of my life, I was blessed with knowing one of the most beloved and respected Rabbis. His influence on my existence grows with each passing year, which is why 2012 has been another year of enrich-ment. The Rebbe, who assumed the leadership of the Lubavitch movement and led this movement until 1994, greatly expanded its worldwide activities and founded a worldwide network of institutions to spread Judaism among the Jewish people through education. For the past 48 years, I was a part of this movement and the great Lubavitch tradition.
I was also very lucky to meet Dr. Rabbi Moshe Herson, the Dean of our college, whose friendship, commit-ment and determination created one of the World’s greatest educational institutions, the Rabbinical College of America.
Along with Rabbi Herson, I have been privileged for almost half a century, to deal with a group of dedicated and committed men – namely the trustees of our institution. It is known and well recognized that every successful company or business is the direct result of the people who lead such enterprises. It is no different in our case, where the Dean, faculty and Rabbis have succeeded in bringing excellence and worldwide appreciation from students who attended and graduated our fine college.
You, my dear friends, the men and women who compose the friends of the Rabbinical College of America - who have attended tonight as you have done throughout almost the past half a century alongside Dean Herson - brought the institution to the highest scholastic achievement by working day and night to assure its success.
This achievement was directly attributed to your commitment and generosity which, in turn, has resulted in thousands of graduated students who have gained knowledge, meaning and awareness because they attended and graduated the Rabbinical College of America.
With your permission, I would like to acknowledge that without your help and financial support, the transfor-mation that took place of a one room, 13-student school located on Graumann Avenue, New Jersey would not have been possible. It became a great educational facility, recognized and admired throughout the World.
I need you to join me this evening in reiterating our on-going desire to make sure that the future of our college in Morristown, New Jersey will be secure and that no child will be left behind who cannot afford to pay tuition.
This evening I’d like to take this opportunity to wish Mazel Tov to our distinguished honorees along with you and your families for a happy, healthy, prosperous and peaceful New Year. May the Almighty bless you and your families and continue to bless all of us with abundance of good health and wisdom. May we all continue to be worthy of it. May God bless our great Country, America, and may it continue to have the wisdom and ability to lead and be the counsel of other nations.
A Message from the
We have come together this evening to honor and pay tribute to long-time friends and supporters. Tonight’s honorees, Samuel A. Stern and John F.X. Graham are an inspiration for all of us to con-tinue educating and inspiring our students and graduates to become community and spiritual leaders, thereby enhancing the Rabbinical College of America’s stature as “A Global Treasure” in the world of education and service to humanity.
So much of what we have accomplished is in great part due to the devotion, dedication and vision ofour Chairman of the Board, David Chase, a man of unusual talents and character. David is unableto be with us – we shall miss him.
Thank you so much, to you our friends, supporters and indeed loyal “partners” whose care and concern is responsible for all our accomplishments. Your commitment makes our vital educational and outreach work possible.
I am particularly grateful to our General Chairmen Phiilip Sellinger, Alfred DeCottiis, Jonathan Goldstein, Arnold Chait & Larry Reich.
A lot has been done by the 48 Chabad Centers throughout NJ and the thousands of graduates/shluchim serving around the globe for which we are very proud, but clearly there is more to do.The Rebbe’s words and teachings are our inspiration and marching order to “go from strength tostrength.” (Psalms)
We thank Al-Mighty G-d for all His blessings and pray that you and your loved ones be blessed witheverything good, both spiritually and materially, now and in the future.
At this time, may I wish each and everyone a most joyous, bright, safe and inspiring Chanukah Festival.

In his role of Executive Vice President with Reynolds SBI Inc—an international
construction/ engineering company, Samuel A. Stern has made great impacts
via his role in creating a much needed infrastructure for countries like Uganda.
A true citizen of the world, Mr. Stern was born in Argentina then after spend-
ing his formative years in Israel moved to America . Today he and his family
reside in New Jersey.
Despite the demands of managing a multinational company as compelling as
Reynolds SBI, Mr Stern still makes time for his philanthropic passions and
hence is recognized both in the US & Israel. Blessed with a warm demeanor,
Mr Stern’s ability to see and evaluate all sides of a project makes him invalu-
able both in the professional world—and the philanthropic one. Mr Stern is
a close personal friend of our dedicated long time chairman of the board of
trustees, Mr. David T. Chase.
In appreciation of my colleagues and fellow staff members who have worked tirelessly for the advancement of this institution and its goals

Our students come from all over the world, from diverse cultural backgrounds. Their parents deliver their children to the College with the expectation that they will be provided with a complete and comprehensive program and that their personalities will be developed in a full and well-rounded manner. Our teachers are very special people. They fully understand and embrace their responsibil-ity to their students. They are “on the job” twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week. They meet with students during their “off” time to provide counseling and encouragement. They have their students’ needs in mind and meditate on what each one needs to fully develop his potential. For teachers at the Rabbinical College, their very lives serve as examples to the students as to how to live as a Jew, a husband, a father.

BEAUTIFUL CAMPUS SETTINGThe campus of the Rabbinical College of America is
located in Morris Township, about one mile from the
heart of Morristown. It is nestled in the same hills
where George Washington headquartered some 200
years ago during the Revolutionary War. The College
is situated on a beautiful 82-acre site. Students enjoy
the relaxed atmosphere which enhances concentra-
tion and promotes intellectual growth.
Three imposing buildings on the campus house class-
rooms, lecture halls, dormitories, administrative of-
fices, library, dining hall, auditorium and facilities
for worship. Basketball courts, an outdoor pool and
athletic field, and an indoor gymnasium provide op-
portunities for sports and exercise.
EDUCATIONAL GOALSThe Rabbinical College of America seeks to develop
scholars who are thoroughly trained in all aspects of
advanced Jewish scholarship. It is concerned, as well,
with transmitting the ethical, philosophical, and spiri-
tual teachings and values of Judaism, particularly the
unique philosophy of Chabad-Lubavitch Chassidism.
The primary purpose of the Rabbinical College is to
offer its students the opportunity to achieve excellence
both in depth and breadth of Talmudic scholarship.

HISTORICAL BACKGROUNDIn 1897 the 5th Lubavitcher Rebbe, Rabbi Sholom B.
Schneersohn, founded the first Tomchei Tmimim Ye-
shivah in Lubavitch, Russia. Early in the 20th century
it was decided that Torah students would flourish in
a rural, small town environment - away from distrac-
tions. Yeshivos were started in a number of Russian
towns, such as Haraditsch, Zhebin and Dokszyci.
The Rabbinical College of America was established in
1956 in a one-family house in Newark, New Jersey,
with a student body of 10. In 1971, keeping with the
decision made in the early part of the century, and
with the support and blessing of the Lubavitcher Reb-
be and the Board of Trustees, we moved to our pres-
ent suburban location. In 1983 we acquired a 66-acre
tract across the street from the main campus.
NEw PROGRAMSWith the passage of time, our original student body
of ten Tomchei Tmimim students has grown in cali-
ber and size. In 1972, recognizing the vital contribu-
tion we could offer the “Baal Teshuva” movement,
we inaugurated our Tiferes Bachurim program which
has enabled thousands of young men to increase their
knowledge and practice of Judaism.
Aware that the summer months are a fertile area for
more than just play, in 1972 we opened Gan Israel
Summer Programs for pre-Bar/Bas Mitzvah children.
Here, learning is combined with sports, trips, and
other fun summer activities.
A meaningful summer program for thirteen-
and fourteen-year-old “Masmidim” boys, our Yeshi-
va Summer Program, began in 1981. It has received
nation-wide acclaim throughout the Lubavitch move-
ment and has a waiting list for the 200 openings.

MARRIED STUDENTS
The HARRY WILF RESIDENCES, located on the 66
acres, was completed in March of 1996 with the addi-
tion of six faculty townhouses and eight garden apart-
ments for married students, bringing the total living
units to 36. Driven by the needs of the students in our
Tiferes Bachurim Program, a Kolel, started in 1987 for
married Baalei Teshuva students, has grown each year.

July■ Completion of 3-story Hebrew school building in White Meadow Lake, NJ. Recently, 100 people celebrated the first culmination of
a 2 year advanced study program at the Yeshivas Tiferes Bachurim of the Rabbinical College of America in Mor-ristown, New Jersey.
The all new “Rabbincal Leadership Program” conceived by Rabbi Yakov Wagner promotes a unique approach in contrast to other contemporary Rabbinical courses.
“Leadership is less about making room in your mind to accumulate knowledge, as it is about making room in your heart to accumulate people.” claims Wagner. “The objectives set out by Tiferes Ba-churim is to shape leaders that will be the pride of our people.”
“It is our goal to empower our students with the knowledge of contemporary is-sues. Focusing on practical elements in Jewish education,” says Rabbi Zalman Dubinsky, Rosh Yeshiva.
While each graduate is certified to be-come a community leader, many will continue onto professional careers. The assembled were addressed by and Yehoshua (Jason) Bedrick, a former member of the New Hampshire state legislature.
The Rabbinical College of America’s Yeshiva Tiferes Bachurim offers advanced education focusing on preserv-ing ancient Jewish Law and philosophy for young men who grew up with little or no formal religious education.
The weekend the first of its type in over ten years, attracted over forty partici-pants from as far as Florida and Califor-nia. For some the workshops and issues addressed was the highlight while for others it was the inviting atmosphere. www.tiferesonline.com

IMPROVEMENTS AND RENOVATIONS
Our physical plant is constantly being improved. We
installed a new water main with increased water pres-
sure capacity to service the entire campus. A new reg-
ulation-compliant state-of-the-art fire safety system
was installed throughout the complex. In the process,
a great deal of asbestos was removed, in compliance
with State and Federal regulations. New fire doors
have been installed. Dormitory lavatory facilities have
been upgraded. A new climate-controlled dormitory
building was completed in February, 2004.
THINK GLOBAL — ACT LOCAL
Our alumni are now located on six continents, serv-
ing as rabbis, teachers and community leaders. In the
words of Senator Joseph Lieberman (D. CT), “Mor-
ristown has become the West Point of the Chabad-
Lubavitch movement.” By establishing regional edu-
cational offices throughout the state, we can bring the
College to local communities. There are currently 45
regional institutions in New Jersey. We bring Torah
to the communities and, in return, we receive student
referrals and increased local financial support.

The Rabbinical College remains the center and guiding light from which all New Jersey Chabad Houses emanate.
The College’s widespread involvement in communal
affairs gives students opportunities to develop skills
in the areas of leadership and public relations. Fur-
ther, they gain first-hand experience in the practical
application of Torah concepts to real life.
Due to the students’ efforts, mitzvah observance and
awareness in schools, clubs, hospitals, summer camps,
and business offices has increased profoundly. The
fundamental mitzvos of Tefillin, Mezuzah, Kashruth
and the celebration of Jewish holidays have all be-
come a vital aspect in the lives of many previously
uninformed and unaffiliated Jews.

Pinchus Taylor, a recent graduate of the Rabbinical College of America in Morristown, NJ and Berel Brafman, a current Yeshivah student and grandson of Rabbi Moshe Herson, Dean of the Rabbinical College, had the amazing opportunity to spend the recent Pesach holiday in Greece at the request of the local Shliach, Rabbi Mendel Hendel, who heard about them from their past experiences and worked it out that they could go.

Spreading Yiddishkeit and Chassidishe warmth at every stop, these two young men have spent previous holidays in Sitka, Alaska, S. Cruz and Florida, always documenting their time on videos and posting them online. A result of this was their being contacted by Rabbi Hendel to come to Greece and assist him with Pesach and providing them with, in their own words, an amazing experience!
There are about 3,000 Jews in Athens and many scat-tered throughout the rest of the mainland and islands. During their time in Greece, “they met many Jews, gave out lots of shmurah matzoh and put on tefilin with many members of the community.”
In addition to extensive Seder preparations that took a lot of time, kashering utensils, etc. a few of their activities included making a “kids day” where there was a matzoh bakery and lots of games with a Pesach theme. They went to the Israeli Embassy to meet with the Jews there.
Possibly the most special event was printing Tanyas for the very first time in a city called Chalkida, on one of the Greek Islands.
Berel and Pinchus spent the first Seder with about 200 people, a mix of natives and tourists, at the Novotel Hotel in Athens. The 2nd Seder was spent at Rabbi Hendel’s home with approximately 30 guests.
Both of the young men agreed that they enjoyed the nine days they were in Greece very much and are looking forward to the next exciting opportunity to continue their amazing activities.
The Rabbinical College is indeed very proud of the fine work being done by our stu-dents and alumni as they reach out to be of service in all areas of the world; becoming beacons of hope for the future to all those they come in contact with, spreading the light and love of Lubavitch for everyone to see and feel.

NEW DIRECTION/TIFERES BACHURIM PROGRAM
The aim of the New Direction Program is the achieve-
ment of two simultaneous, complementary goals.
These goals are, firstly, the acquiring of a significant
amount of broad-ranging knowledge and, secondly,
the acquisition of an array of analytical tools and
skills. Thus, the graduating student is equipped with
the background and skills necessary to pursue a life-
time of Talmudic study. A key to the success of this
program over the past 31 years has been the successful
integration of both goals through a carefully selected
sequence of courses combined with ever-increasing
demands on the intellectual ability and developing
skills of the beginning student
ADVANCED TALMUD PROGRAM/ TOMCHEI TMIMIM
The Advanced Talmud Program is designed for young
men with a secondary education in Jewish studies.
Such students arrive at the institution with a strong
background in Hebrew Language and Grammar, Ara-
maic, Jewish Codes, Liturgy, Bible and Scriptures, Phi-
losophy and Ethics and, of course, Talmud. For them
the course of study offered at Morristown is basically
that of any Rabbinical or Talmudical academy, except
that in addition to Talmudic studies, considerable time
is devoted to the study of Chabad Philosophy.
The core of the academic program lies in the area of
Talmudic studies. A preponderant portion of the cur-
riculum consists of the analysis of selected tractates of
the Talmud which are studied for both in-depth com-
prehension and broad-ranging scholarship.
RABBINIC ORDINATION PROGRAM
Students who have completed the five-year Advanced
Talmud Program, which usually includes at least one
year of shelichus, are eligible to enter the Rabbinical
Ordination Program. However, due to limited capac-
ity, the College can only accept a portion of those who
qualify. This necessitates a selection process, which
results in a highly motivated group of young scholars.
Rabbinical College of America
Understandably, we are quite proud of the many programs offered by the Rabbinical College.
