Standard check valves will chatter and be noisy when a VFgoes to low flow causing eventual failure. The unique Model 80DI-VFD unit is designed minimize flow losses and hydraulic shocks in the pumping system. It features a standardepoxy coated (NSF approved powder) ductile iron body to support deep set pumps. Thisnew, exclusive poppet system insures that the valve smoothly and automatically adjusts flow and is noiseless at even very low flows.

New Federal Lead Free LegislationThe Congress has now passed the first lead free bill S.3874, the Reductionof Lead in Drinking Water Act, a bill that would reduce from 8 per-cent to 0.25 percent the amount of the lead allowed in "lead free"plumbing fixtures that touch drinking water. This is similar to thecurrent laws in the state of California and Vermont. Flomatic hasbeen committed to providing products that exceed the requirementsof lead content for many years.

Most products in this catalog have been tested and certified by IAPMO, an ANSIaccredited third party to comply with the laws. Flomatic introduced the industries firstunleaded bronze check valves, in 1996, which have been recognized as an acceptablematerial for lead free*.

* The wetted surface of this product contacted by consumable water contains less than one quarter of one percent (0.25%) oflead by weight.
