Wow! Time flies doesn’t it? It’s September already and KOSBE is now

accepting applications for this year’s Annual KOSBE Awards! If you are

a small business owner, I personally encourage you to apply. The benefits

are invaluable regional press, incredible insight into your business, net-

working opportunities, and some healthy competitive fun. Also, it’s excit-

ing to me to see the KOSBE program as a whole growing in many new

directions. If you will give us a chance to work with you, we can help you

pursue and win federal contracts. We can also help you explore potential

markets for exporting, if that floats your boat. Or, maybe you just need

help understanding the business benefits of using social media. We’re here

to help. Let us be your number one business resource.

Congratulations to our KOSBE Volunteer Council Chair-Elect, Darren

Eskind. Darren is the Manager of Operations at Jacobs Field Services

North America, Inc. He will be your 2013 KOSBE Awards Chairman

and emcee at this year’s Annual KOSBE Awards. I, on the other hand,

will have the pleasure of sitting back and enjoying the festivities with all

of you this year.

Kim Dykes, President and Owner of Dykes Trucking, was just presented with the prominent 2013 SBA Entrepreneurial Suc-cess Award, at her place of business last week. Dykes was greeted and personally recognized by Walter Perry, District Direc-tor of the SBA Tennessee District Office in Nashville, Tennessee.

Dykes Trucking Receives Tennessee 2013 SBA Entrepreneurial Success Award

According to Perry, “This is not an award that is earned just by happenstance. This is a statewide recognition including 95 counties that is documented with proven hard work building a company and ensuring that the economic growth and job creation come right here to Fall Branch, Tennessee. This is a team effort, not just one person.”

SPONSOR THE ANNUAL KOSBE AWARDS!

THANK YOU for your interest as an event partner/sponsor of our Annual KOSBE Awards. Last year we had more sponsors, entries, IMPACT nominees, winners and attendees than ever before. We could not have accomplished this without external help and support-financially and from the heart. If you have not already done so, check out the videos at http://youtu.be/Clh3J6VAno and http://youtu.be/cHHrr65sswJ.

Especially today, small businesses are so important to our economy. The Annual KOSBE Awards has become a long-standing tradition that ties all of us together and creates a sense of community. Each year we continue to build upon our celebration of small business. This year we added a new e-maga-zine which will be issued twice a year starting with 2013. Read the current issue at http://ow.ly/eoeon. The e-magazine will feature our past winners (dating all the way back to 1994), keeping everyone up-to-

date with what is new while reminding us of the breadth and depth of the competition. We have also recently added a facebook page and an Annu-al Breakfast of Champions recognizing our winners.

Your support of the Annual KOSBE Awards would be greatly appreciated, and enable us to maintain the highest level of quality and integrity. What’s in it for you, as a sponsor? A lot of exposure for your business, and a lot of media coverage. This translates to trust, respect and credibility, which ultimately translates to more customers walking in your door and doing business.

If you would like to sponsor the Annual KOSBE Awards now, just email me at [email protected]. There are opportunities for one-year, two-year and three-year sponsorship, and flexible payment arrangements are available upon request.
