INDEXOUR SCENTS:classic: Our signature scent for the whole family - exactly what clean laundry should smell like. We designed the collection to work from start to finish from detergent to starch all in one scent, classic. A sweet musk with citrus, ylang ylang and sandalwood undertones.

lady: Designed for our delicate wash which is for washing silk and synthetics. Rich amber with crisp citrus complemented by a balance of green herbal notes. A blend that both men and women will enjoy.

baby: This scent is formulated for babies, however we love it for the entire family. Pure, soft and warm with vanilla musk, bergamot and lavender undertones.

cedar: We love our cedar scent exclusively used in our Wool and Cashmere Shampoo and Fabric Fresh for its natural bug and moth repellent properties - not your typical cedar. Natural freshness from the earth, combining fresh cedarwood oil, frankincense, spices and citrus zest.

sport: Designed for our Sport Detergent and Sport Spray this scent is fresh and crisp with a blend of leafy greens, orange, rose, jasmine and musk undertones. This scent is for all athletes and all equipment.

Our home cleaning scent was inspired by our office at 247 West 30th Street. No247 is a crisp and clean scent with a blend of bergamot, lavender, musk and ylang ylang essential oils.

LE LABO ROSE 31: Our exclusive partnership with Le Labo, a premium perfumery; we combined our Signature Detergent with their most famous perfume. Rose 31 is a perfume combining 31 ingredients designed to be both feminine and masculine. The scent is a chorus of warm, spicy, woodsy notes such as cumin, olbanum, and cedar, touched by a hint of amber, surrounding centifolia rose scent.

LE LABO SANTAL 33: Our second fragrance partnership with Le Labo. Thirty-three ingredients were blended together to create an unisex, woody and delicate scent with notes of cardamom, iris, violet, ambrox, sandalwood, papyrus, cedar and leather.

OUR INGREDIENTS:Surfactant - an organic chemical that changes properties of water by lowering the surface tension, enabling the cleaning solution to loosen and remove soil, emulsify oil and keep them dispersed and suspended from the surface. The Laundress uses plant-based surfactants which are derived from coconut. Not only is it natural, but one of the best cleaning agents. Most grocery brands use petroleum-derived surfactants which are harsh on people and the environment. Enzyme - proteins that are classified by the type of soil they break down into simpler forms to be removed by detergent. The Laundress uses high percentages of enzymes; amylase for starch soils, lipase for fatty and oily soils, protease for protein soils and cellulase for reducing pilling and graying of fabrics which helps remove particulate soils and microfibrils.

Essential Oil - volatile oil, usually having the characteristic odor or flavor of the plant from which it is obtained, used to make perfumes and flavorings. The Laundress uses cedarwood oil, ylang ylang oil, orange oil, sandalwood oil, clove oil, patchouli oil, lemon oil, lavandin oil, bergamot oil and geranium oil (not inclusive of).

Bleach Alternative - whitens and brightens fabrics and removes stubborn stains. They convert soils into colorless, soluble particles that can be removed by detergents and carried away in the wash water. Liquid chlorine bleach (usually in a sodium hypochlorite solution) can also disinfect and deodorize fabrics. Oxygen (color-safe) bleach, while deodorizing and disinfecting, is gentler and works safely on almost all surfaces and washable fabrics. The Laundress Natural Bleach Alternative is an oxygen system made with sodium percarbonate. Safe for colors, most fabrics and surfaces.

Booster - enhances the soil and stain removal, brightening, buffering and water softening performance of detergents. The Laundress uses Borax which is a natural mineral with disinfectant and preservative properties.

Color Guard - incorporates a blend of ingredients into a tridimensional polymeric structure, which provides a protective guard, blends and increases soil release during washing to make the cleaning process more effective and efficient - so clothes stay brighter for longer. The Laundress uses this in our detergents.

Fabric Softener - added to the final rinse or dryer to make fabrics softer and fluffier, decreases static cling, wrinkling, eases ironing and reduces drying time. The Laundress Fabric Conditioner is made from a natural Canola Oil as opposed to tallow (animal fat) which is most commonly used in grocery brands. The Laundress Dryer Sheets have similar properties and are made of biodegradable paper.

Starch, Fabric Finish and Sizing - are used after drying - giving body to fabrics, making them more soil resistant and easier to iron. The Laundress uses natural cornstarch in Stiffen-Up.

Signature DetergentWe developed this product for those who take caring for their clothes and linens seriously. Darks DetergentWe were tired of our favorites fading, so we created our own solution. The Laundress Darks Detergent isformulated in our classic scent with color guard and stain fighting enzymes to keep colors true. Our formula works to remove the micro fibrils (lint) and pet hair in the washing cycle as dark fabrics are cleaned, while at the same time retaining the vibrancy in the color. MEET THE FOUNDERS

Lindsey Boyd and Gwen Whiting, co-founders of The Laundress®, created this eco-friendly line of laundry detergent, fabric and home care to take the chore out of clean-ing and laundry. Frustrated with dingy white t-shirts, items ruined by dry cleaning and chemically treated cashmere, they researched and developed their own solutions to simplify and master the fine art of laundry. “We knew approximately 90% of our items labeled “Dry Clean Only” were washable” says Boyd. “We knew we could eliminate expensive dry cleaning with toxic chemicals; we just needed the products” says Whiting. We value the importance of properly cared for clothing and home linens, so we formu-lated the most effective ingredients for each specific fabric need with our favorite

scents to create a green and easy to use collection. 8 years later, our laundry in good hands, we experienced similar frustrations cleaning our homes and offices. “We were tired of purchasing inferior natural cleaning products and toxic cleaners that were simply not effective” says Wieber Boyd. “Similar to the development of our deter-gents and fabric care, we set out to create products that are tough on dirt yet safe for you, your home and the environment.” says Whiting. Lindsey and Gwen were both educated in Fiber Science, Textile and Apparel Management and Design at Cornell University. Their extensive professional experi-ence in retail management and product development in the luxury-brand business, merged with their educational backgrounds, has created a unique knowledge and passion for fine fabrics, garment and home care. Lindsey was the Manager of U.S. Sales for CHANEL Ready-to-Wear. She managed the CHANEL boutique accounts and other large accounts such as Bergdorf Good-man and Neiman Marcus. Lindsey also worked for Brooks Brothers in Men’s and Women’s Product Development, prior to her tenure at CHANEL. Gwen was a Senior Designer of the Ralph Lauren Home Collection for five years. Prior to her tenure in Home Collection, she worked in Polo Store Development and Women’s Wear Design. Lindsey and Gwen have been “cleaning one person at a time” since 2004.
