External Communications & Social Networking in the 21st CenturyWondering how to use social media to help your organization? Curious if these tools actually work to raise money or steward donors? E ective Prospect Management in a New Health Care EnvironmentWhether the topic of the moment is the bad economy or health care reform, a fl exible yet structured prospect management process is still the best way to get a major gift. This presentation is geared towards demonstrating best practices, prospect evaluation concepts and reporting that can help an individual or organization succeed in cultivating the right prospect for right gift at the right time.

PresenterCristian HamiltonDevelopment O cer, Major GiftsGood Samaritan HospitalLos Angeles, CA

Using Predictive Modeling to Accelerate Major Gift E ortsPredictive modeling and philanthropic analytics are powerful tools in major gift fundraising. Unfortunately, fundraisers often let this information drive us straight into “analysis paralysis.” In fact, data is only helpful when it gets us out of our o ces and in front of prospects with the interest and capacity to impact our organizations. This session will highlight strategies regarding how to use data to refi ne portfolios, sharpen participation, focus volunteer involvement and ultimately close major gifts.

Grateful Patients Fuel the Pipeline of Major DonorsWhy is it that we often focus on donors with resources and no relationship to our hospital, yet thousands of grateful patients we rarely meet or discuss seek our care each day? Best practice with grateful patients includes engagement, outreach, assessment, feedback, personal visits and follow up. Weaving these actions into annual giving sets the stage for development of a robust pipeline of ready, willing and able major donors. In this session you will learn how to develop and implement a plan for cultivating grateful patients.
