SCHOLARSHIPS
The Office of Admission will review all applicants records for scholarship consideration. No special application is required ,
only a completed admission application. Students interested in The University of Tulsa Performing Arts Scholarshipsor
Athletic Scholarships should contact those departments or coaches directly for requirements (such as auditions, etc.) for
award consideration. When the Student Financial Services Office is notified of a students selection for these awards, a notice
will be sent. Scholarships are awarded for eight semesters, as long as the student maintains the requirements for renewal of
the award. Details of these requirements can be found athttp://www.utulsa.edu/admission-and-financial-aid.aspx.
NEED-BASED AID APPLICATION PROCEDURETo apply for the University Need-Based Grant, federal funding or state funding, the following form is needed to complete
your application (additional forms or data may be required as determined by the Office of Student Financial Services):
The 2012/2013 Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). The TU School Code is 003185.
To complete your application for financial aid, the government must process your FAFSA. Students may complete their
application by using FAFSA on the Web, available atwww.fafsa.ed.gov.You can find this link, as well as other important
financial aid information, in the Financial Aid section of The University of Tulsa homepage. http://www.utulsa.edu To
complete or make corrections to the FASFA, you will need a Personal Identification Number or PIN from the Department of
Education. Both the student and one parent need a PIN in order to sign and complete the FAFSA. You can request a PIN
from the Department of Education at www.pin.ed.gov. Oklahoma students applying for the Oklahoma Tuition Aid Grant
(OTAG) must have a FAFSA processed before March 1, 2012, as OTAG funding is limited.
VERIFICATION
Applicants selected for verification who retrieve and transfer their income tax return information using the IRS Data
Retrieval Process will be considered to have verified the FAFSA IRS information. These applicants will still need tocomplete a 2012-13 Verification Worksheet and submit it to TU. However if changes on the FAFSA were made to the
transferred tax information, or if the applicant did not utilize the IRS Data Retrieval Process, the applicant must provide to
TU an IRS Tax Return Transcript for the 2011 tax year for both the student and the parents. Additional documentation may
be required.
Students eligible for Federal Work Study, Perkins loans or Direct Stafford loans must complete verification priorto the last
day of enrollment for 2012-2013. In addition, a valid FAFSA (processed and accepted) must be received by TU beforethe
last day of enrollment. Direct Stafford loan applications must be certified by the Office of Student Financial Services before
the last day of enrollment to receive loan funds.
TU does not disburse awards for students who are selected for verification until the process is complete. Failing to complete
verification by the deadlines will result in loss of any eligibility for federal aid funds. If you completely withdraw prior to
submitting the documents for verification, federal aid will not be considered.
If you are selected for verification and are federal Pell eligible, you must complete verification within 60 days from the lastday of enrollment or August 31, 2013, whichever is earlier. A valid Expected Family Contribution (EFC), meaning the
FAFSA is processed and accepted, must be received within this time limit.
Credit based parent and private student loansare available. If interested, contact the Office of Student Financial Services.
Remember! You are responsible for the timely submission of all required application materials and documentation.
Should you have any questions or concerns, contact the Office of Student Financial Services for consultation with a
