Leslie Fitzwater brings this legendary French artist to life.

Overcoming an impoverished childhood and successfully fighting a murder charge that threatened to end her budding career, she rose to be the highest paid female performer in the world. This dramatic newly expanded musical revue has songs sung in French and English, including La Vie En Rose and Non Je Regrette Rien.

Hailed as a masterpiece of American Opera, with one of the greatest scores ever including Summertime, I Got Plenty O’Nuttin’ and It Ain’t Necessarily So. Based on the DuBose Heyward, and set in Charleston’s fabled Catfish Row, beautiful Bess struggles from her scandalous past with the help of the handicapped beggar, Porgy. Their relationship evolves into a romance that triumphs as one of theatre’s most exhilarating love stories.
