2011 THUNDERGRAM Parent Newsletter Fall Thunderbird High School Each year, students frequent the Counseling and Career Centers to review their educaonal plans, both for their tenure at THS and aſterward, as well as receive resources to help them achieve their goals. Counselors and the Career Center Specialist, Mrs. Blosser, make it a point to have face me with each student at least once a year to ensure they are informed and comfortable with their me at THS. Parents, please feel free to contact your student’s counselor or Mrs. Blosser anyme with quesons or concerns. Freshmen parents, please contact your student’s counselor to schedule a 4-year plan where together you can lay out your student’s classes throughout high school; the counselors are Ms. Ausn, Mrs. Colombo, Mrs. Irwin, Mr. Riney, and Ms. Rollins. Encourage your students to make appointments with Mrs. Blosser and their counselors to discuss their plans for the future. See you at the tournament next year! 8th annual Chief Parent Assoc. golf tournament a success The 8th Annual Thunderbird Golf Tournament, sponsored by the Chief Parent Associaon was once again a huge success! We had one hundred parcipang golfers enjoy a beauful day of golf which included several games such as Closest to the Pin, Longest Drive, Hole-in-One, and Sink the Pu. The boys’ golf team had a great me earning money from parcipang golfers who “pped” them to hit the drive off hole #11. Over 140 addional people bought ckets to parcipate in the evening happy hour, dinner buffet, and silent aucon at the Moon Valley Country Club. It was wonderful to see so many parents, residents of Moon Valley, and community members come out and support Thunderbird High School. The CPA would like to clarify that all proceeds made from the annual golf tournament go toward supporng student and staff needs THROUGHOUT THE ENTIRE SCHOOL. The following are examples of items the CPA has purchased over the past several years: -Picnic Tables and Sunshades, Smart Boards, Lawnmower, Laminator, Microscopes, Voice Recorders, Ice Machine for the Athlec Department,

The Social Studies Departmentat Thunderbird High School providesinstruction in World History andGeography, U.S. History, AmericanGovernment, and Economics.Sophomores can take World Historyand Geography from Mr. Crable, Mr.Melton, or Ms. Jones. Operationsandresourcesupdatedinformation Welcome to another busy year at ThunderbirdHighSchool.Fallsports,studentorganizationsandclubsare in full swing.
