Headmaster’s Convocation

What is a Convocation?

It is a group of people assembled for a special

purpose.

The purpose of the Convocation

is to welcome all students and staff and to introduce the spiritual theme

for the school year.

During the Convocation there

will be performances by various groups.

All students are to practice

Attentive Listening and show Appropriate Appreciation.

Speakers will share their manaÿo

There will be a relay. The torch

of knowledge will be passed between classes.

Students are to cheer

for their Class.

Classes of 2016 & 2017, cheer for you classmates as they run.

Show your class and school pride.

At the end of the program,

we will sing Sons of Hawaiÿi and pule.

Special Schedule A-Day• Your teachers will review the

special schedule for the day.• Report to Advisory and leave

your belongings in that room.• There will be assigned seating in

Kekühaupiÿo.• There will be one combined

lunch period.• Grade 7 Service in Keawe Dining

Hall• Grade 8 Service on Keawe länai.

Being that all 8th grade students are eating in their A5, core and exploratory teachers, please come and grab your lunch immediately after you excuse the students. Admin and elective teachers will assist with supervision in the line. 8th grade students are to be in their A5 during the duration of lunch.

(8:15AM – 9:00AM) August 19, 2011 – A Day Special Schedule

7:35 AM Advisory – Take roll; Leave belongings in Advisory room.

7:40 AM Advisories in P7, P14, P13, P12, P8, P11, P10, P9 proceed to Kekühaupiÿo

7:45 AM Advisories in P 17, P15, Keküäiwa, Kaÿiluani proceed to Kekühaupiÿo

7:55 AM Advisories in Maude Post East, Alice Knapp West, P1 to P6 and Keawe to proceed to Kekühaupiÿo

All Middle School students are to walk along the outside makai side of Kekühaupiÿo and are to enter and exit the gym from the Diamond Head doors. Grade 7 is to use the first

set of doors and Grade 8 to use the second set of doors. 8:10 AM All Middle School students seated in

assigned Sections N,O (Grade 7) and G, H (Grade 8); Teachers to sit with advisory.

8:15 AM – 9:00 AM Convocation Program Wait until dismissal is given for

middle school. Middle school will exit using the Diamond Head doors. Teachers walk with advisories back to campus.

9:15 AM – 9:25 AM Snack Service at Keawe ($.75)

Bell Schedule – A Day 9:30 AM – 10:00 AM Period 1 (Sec 1) (30 min.) 10:06 AM – 10:36 AM Period 2 (Sec 2) (30 min.) 10:42 AM – 11:12 AM Period 3 (Sec 3) (30 min.) 11:18 AM – 11:48 AM Period 4 (Sec 4) (30 min.) 11:54 AM – 12:39 PM 7th/8th Lunch (45 min.)
