“When we started the business we spoke with many people about what they wanted to see in a business. They told us they were tired of companies that do not show up on time and do not live up to their promises, and salespeople that are pushy,” said Lee Anne Daniels, Owner of Gliding Shelf Solutions, Inc. “We listened and determined that we would not be lumped into any of those categories. All of our dealers are very respectful of our clients’ time and money. We do not up-sell. We look at the clients’ concerns and come up with an affordable solution.”

Supported primarily by clients in the 55-plus age group, Gliding Shelf has focussed its effort on helping seniors downsize.

“Many seniors have purged when packing up the family home, but they still find themselves with too many treasures and not enough space when they unpack in their new condo or bungaloft. We can go into a condo and increase the usable space as well as giving them easy accessibility to everything in the cabinet,” Daniels said.

The highlight of the last 3 years is to see the growth of the company, she said. While many companies are closing their doors and moving elsewhere, Gliding Shelf has shown significant growth in the past three years. This means manufacturing jobs for Canadians, as well as dealer opportunities.

“We are proudly Canadian,” Daniels said.
