Some takeaways…We have a strong, well-educated
labor market and increasingly diverse population.
We are growing and will grow, but much slower than our neighbors
We have a large disparity in wealth with rapid increases in food stamp recipients.
Our people are healthy and trending healthier (other than breast cancer)
Some takeaways…Commercial tax base as a percent of
total tax base is decliningGrowth in retail sales is one of our
greatest economic opportunitiesWhile we have enough water for the
next 50 years and it will continue to increase in price
Housing prices, while modifying remain high compared in other counties in the region
Some takeaways…Our schools continue to out perform
their peersPositive impact of tourism and visitors
continues steady growthAir Quality has been good and we
continue to grow our parks and open space
Unemployment remains the lowest in the state and its decline heralds our recovery
