On behalf of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association, it is my great pleasure to welcome you to Vaughn and the 2010 belairdirect OCAA Men’s and Women’s Soccer Championships. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate all of the players and coaches in the OCAA for their hard work and commitment to excellence this past season. Soccer is one of the premier sports within the OCAA and your dedication to continue in athletics while pursuing a post-secondary education is a testament for all young soccer players in the

province of Ontario to look up to. A sincere thank you to John Faragher and Marlene Ford, for their continued work as OCAA soccer convenors. Their dedication to OCAA soccer has ensured that the sport has continued to run smoothly once again. Good luck to all of the participants over the next couple of days and also to those who will go on to represent Ontario at the CCAA national championships in Edmonton next month.

Blair WebsterOCAA Executive Director and Tournament Chair

Introduction

For the past two months, student-athletes and coaches have been preparing themselves for these upcoming two days of intense competition. Skill, determination and the desire to pursue athletic and academic excellence are the foundations of your achievements to date. Enjoy these two days of excellent competition. Win or lose, the OCAA wishes that student-athletes can look back on their collegiate years with fond memories. Success will not be measured on how your

team performs over the next days, but on how you learn and develop as an individual from these experiences. I wish the players, coaches and the many people involved in hosting this event the best of luck. Your hard work and dedication is what makes this occasion very special.

John FaragherMen’s Soccer Senior Convenor

Page 5: 2010 OCAA Soccer Championship Program

Congratulations to all participants for qualifying for the 2010 belairdirect OCAA Soccer Championships. All competing teams have worked extremely hard for the past two months preparing themselves for these upcoming two days of competition.

You are all outstanding representatives of your respective Colleges, as well as fine examples of the value of combining academic pursuits with athletic achievements. Take as many memories from this tournament as you can, as they are games you will remember for your entire lifetime. Remember what

College means to you as a student-athlete and strive to be the best on and off the field.

I would like to wish the players and coaches good luck and thank the OCAA Central Office for hosting this event.

Sincerely,

Marlene FordWomen’s Soccer Senior Convenor

On behalf of The Ontario Soccer Association, I wish to extend a warm welcome to the players, coaches, officials and supporters of the teams participating in the 2010 OCAA Soccer Championships at the Ontario Soccer Centre in Vaughan. Today, soccer is Ontario and Canada’s major participation sport, and the phenomenal growth experienced in recent years is due in large measure to the tireless efforts of many dedicated players, parents, coaches, officials, administrators and executives who follow their vision and help realize the potential of “The Beautiful Game”.

College student-athletes in the Province of Ontario are enriched by the enhanced quality of life enjoyed by soccer participants at all levels -- from recreation house league to highly competitive teams -- for whom your organization provides opportunities for personal growth, development and achievement through teamwork. The Ontario Soccer Association recognizes the hard work and commends the splendid achievements of your Association in developing and promoting soccer in Ontario’s colleges. I assure you that The Ontario Soccer Association is committed to continue providing and improving support for the OCAA, and we look forward to pursuing with you our shared vision to develop the game to its full potential. Please accept my best wishes for a most enjoyable, memorable and successful Championships.
