What Are We Doing Well?Recurring themes:

Networking

Lunch & Learns

Investment, Hospitality, Apartment programs

Chapter emails

Networking Investment and apartment programs are informative and

good networking opportunities as well. NA Network events We need to provide the membership with more casual

meetings and network events without charge I don't know as I am not really involved in CCIM locally SD Chapter does well with lunch & learn series and

some of the networking. Investment Forums and Hospitality Breakfasts are

outstanding! Frequent informal educational events; keeping current

with 'green' and social media presence. The event at the Estancia was top notch as regards

speakers. Communicate with members Core courses, L&L, Inv Outlook, Hosp, Apart events Love our new Admin! I appreciate the chapter emails and networking

opportunities. I also like the Lunch and Learn presentations.

This survey is a good starting point !! Maintaining contact with members via email

announcements of events.

What Can We Do Better?Lunch & Learns – more

Networking events

Communications and Web site

More lunch and learn events. These are a good chance to keep up to date. They are frequently convenient to most of the major firm offices in UTC. They don't require a big commitment in time or cost. It is a good formula!

NA Use a charge card system other than Acteva

without surcharges We should have an annual membership awards

luncheon for the membership I don't have any specific comments because I

really know nothing about the local CCIM chapter More varied topics at lunch & learn and don't

invite presenters that turn it into self-promotion for their business, classes, books, etc.

Also, the networking social events need better promotion and more planning to increase participation and encourage return attendees.

Member communications could be a lot better. Current info on website would make chapter vastly more useful.

What Can We Do Better?Speaker presentations tie in with topic

Attendance at courses and events

Candidate Guidance

Better control on choice of speakers when jointly doing events (Apt. Perspective flop).

Maybe the 3 part lunch and learns this summer could have had more tying together so that the 'take home message' would be more clearly summarized by the moderator.

The institute and chapter could do a lot more to be ahead of the curve on sustainability subjects (seems very important and almost absent at all levels).

Seminar information that relates to real day to day issues brokers face, RE driven or political issues driven.

Core course attendance, STDB/REIWise More lunch programs Candidate support. Perhaps some kind of

mentoring program for portfolio submission More interaction with brokers.

Suggestions?More Lunch & Learns

Topics: technology, social media, changes in laws and finance, title, liens, etc.

Just remain abreast of the twists and turns in the markets, and changes in finance and law, and use the Lunch & Learn format to help us remain up-to-date.

You do a good job with the big forecast programs, but I would suggest using the 60-90 minute, casual lunch & learn format for future programs on an ad-hoc, as needed basis.

NA Let's continue to do our programs WELL- quality

not quantity, more programs on computer and social media

Use Short subject lunch & learns free to chapter members. ie; Tenant Improvements. Have a speaker who specializes in this area speak on the subject and sponsor the sessions providing sandwiches. 45 minutes to an hour. There are many subjects that could be covered. Title Insurance, liens, property insurance, Environmental, etc.

Not able to give any meaningful advice since I don't know enough about the local CCIM chapter

Suggestions?Charity Golf Tournament

Programs with outside speakers: Mike Cypert, Gene Trowbridge, WinAir

Social media

Networking events with specialty focus

Hold/sponsor a charity golf tournament 1 x year in San Diego. CCIM members would donate time to organize and promote. Corp. sponsors would help with prizes, food, etc. Portion of all proceeds would go to the charity. This provides good press and a potentially larger format each year. CCIM "Make A Wish Foundation" Golf Tournament or CCIM "Children's Hospital" GT to name a few.

I'd love more so cal educational events (like Mark Cypert's mining markets, and Gene Trowbridge's syndication.

Seminar on commercial leasing such as team up with the WinAir to hold classes in SD

Social media influence in commercial real estate; for an owner, asset manager, investor, broker, lender, etc. leasing, marketing

Speakers with ideas on future trends in commercial real estate

More networking events with specialty product focus, i.e. apartment or retail marketing sessions.
