MISSION STATEMENT

QUICK FACTS

PREPNI

Dedicated to transforming young men into moral and ethical leaders for today’s world, Iona Preparatory offers a distinctive college preparatory experience. Our first strength is our heritage. Established as a Catholic school in 1916 by the Christian Brothers, Iona firmly bases its educational edifice on Catholic values.

The Brothers chose football to be our school’s first interscolastic sport. Upon this foundation, Iona provides an innovative, rigorous, relevant, academic education- grounded in the Essential Elements of an Edmund Rice Christian Brothers Education. At Iona Prep, we nurture the spirit, the mind, and the body in a community that values both active faith and principled action. The Iona experience prepares graduates for successful college experiences and lives of meaning and purpose. Iona Prep has a strong college placement record.

One hundred percent Iona Prep graduates are attending four-year colleges and universities. Well prepared for the challenges of higher education, Iona Prep alumni are found at some of the nation’s top schools; as close as New Rochelle, as far away as Stanford in California, and University of Bocconi in Milan, Italy.

Each year, Iona’s young men are honored with national merit distinction, AP Scholar recognition, National Honor Society enrollment, and Con-Edison Scholar-Athlete awards. In recent years, our graduating classes have consistently been offered an average of $8 million dollars in college academic scholarships.

At Iona Prep, we offer 15 Advanced Placement (AP) college courses in addition to our rigorous base curriculum.

Dear Fans of Iona Prep Lacrosse,The game you are watching is the culmination of countless hours of hard work on the part of our players and their coaches. The final score is not yet known, but the high level of dedication and outstanding work ethic of everyone in our program is a cer-tainty. Our lacrosse teams, like every team at Iona Prep, sub-scribe to the Essential Elements of an Edmund Rice Christian Brother Education. Our student-athletes pursue excellence in all their endeavors: in the classroom, on the field, and in the community. They make their families and their school very proud. Thank you for supporting them. Go Gaels!

BROTHER JAMES A. LIGUORI President

When Coach Trizano began coaching here he said he looked forward to taking the lacrosse program to the next level. After a few years of hard work on the part of the players and coaches as well as a new league alignment, we welcome you to the next level.Being involved in Iona lacrosse, you can expect the best. Our lacrosse teams are a part of our education based ath-letic program. As participants you can expect to receive opportunities to learn, grow and develop just as you would in the classroom. Those opportunities include learning to win humbly as well as losing with dignity, teamwork, fair play, placing team success ahead of personal gain, devel-oping perseverance as well as developing a strong work ethic that emphasizes preparation and effort.Hope you find the experience an enjoyable and rewarding one. I wish the best of luck to our team members and their coaches.
