STABILITRAK ELECTRONIC STABILITY CONTROL SYSTEM

StabiliTrak applies brake pressure at the appropriate wheel or wheels to address the causes of understeer or oversteer. It responds in thousandths of a second when a lateral skid is detected, helping you maintain control and remain headed in your intended direction.

ECOTEC ENGINES

The 155 hp 2.2L, 172 hp 2.4L and 260 hp 2.0L turbocharged ECOTEC 4-cylinder engines all employ a dual overhead camshaft confi guration and Variable Valve Timing (VVT) to help maximize output. The aluminum engine block in all three ECOTEC engines reduces weight without sacrifi cing strength. The FlexFuel 2.2L and 2.4L engines are capable of running on E85 ethanol.

FUEL EFFICIENCY

HHR is the most fuel-effi cient in its class, 6.1 L/100 km highway and 9.2 L/100 km city ratings** with the standard ECOTEC 2.2L engine and 5-speed manual transmission.

PASSENGER SENSING SYSTEM

The Passenger Sensing System detects the weight of the passenger in the front seat and automatically suppresses air bag deployment when appropriate, standard on SS and SS Panel.†

SIDE-IMPACT AIR BAGSDual-stage frontal air bags† and, new for 2010, head curtain side-impact air bags for both front and rear passengers are standard on all HHR models.

BRAKING CONTROL

All HHR models feature a standard 4-wheel anti-lock braking system (ABS).

SPEED-SENSITIVE ELECTRIC POWER STEERING

Speed-sensitive, variable-effort electric power steering eliminates the hydraulics of a conventional power steering system, reducing weight and improving fuel effi ciency. It uses electronic sensors to react within thousandths of a second for precision control and responsiveness.

BUILT-IN QUALITY

HHR’s rigid body structure reduces noise and vibration, and makes it possible to tune suspension components more precisely. Exceptionally tight tolerances between exterior body panels provide a level of quality you might expect from a much more expensive vehicle.

ENVIRONMENTAL FEATURES

A series of HHR features help reduce the impact on the environment. They include: removing lead from the steel protection process, eliminating hydraulic fl uid in the electric power steering system, reducing oil consumption thanks to the GM Oil Life Monitoring System, and using onboard refuelling vapour recovery to reduce emissions.
