Certified Building Energy Professional (BEP)The BEP program awards special recognition to those

Certified Building Commissioning Professional (CBCP®)The CBCP® program was developed with the dual pur-

pose of recognizing the most highly qualified professionalsin this most rapidly expanding area within the industry,while raising overall professional standards in the buildingcommissioning field.

Certified Carbon Reduction Manager (CRM)The CRM program is designed to recognize those

professionals who have distinguished themselves as leadersin the growing field of carbon reduction. The designationCRM identifies individuals who have demonstrated highlevels of technical expertise in energy management andenvironmental practices.

Certified Energy Auditor (CEA)CERTIFIED ENERGY AUDITOR IN TRAINING (CEAIT)

This certification was developed and added to theimpressive portfolio of certifications offered by the AEE.Rising energy costs and inefficiency in plants and buildingsis continually driving the need for trained and experiencedenergy auditors. HALL OF FAME.The Energy Managers Hall of Fame

SCHOLARSHIP AWARDS. The Foundation of the Association

Certified Sustainable Development Professional (CSDP)The Certified Sustainable Development Professional

(CSDP) program is designed to provide recognition forprofessionals who have distinguished themselves asleaders in the sustainable development field. The designa-tion CSDP identifies individuals who have demonstratedhigh levels of technical expertise in energy managementand environmental practices.

Distributed Generation Certified Professional (DGCP®)AEE’s DGCP® program identifies individuals who have

demonstrated high levels of expertise, competence, profi-ciency, and ethical fitness, bringing to their professionalactivities the full scope of knowledge essential to the effec-

tive development and management of today’s distributedgeneration projects.

Certified Renewable Energy Professional (REP)The REP certification is designed to recognize the exper-

tise and experience of professionals involved in the specifi-cation and application of renewable and alternative energytechnologies, assessment of renewable energy projects, anddevelopment of achievable low-carbon and sustainabilitygoals for organizations.

Certified Existing Building CommissioningProfessional (EBCP)

AEE’s EBCP certification provides recognition for quali-fied professionals with expertise in the area of retrofittingexisting buildings into more sustainable, efficient facilitieswhile meeting existing building commissioning criteria.

Certified Building Energy SimulationAnalyst (BESA)

AEE;s BESA certification is designed to recognize indi-viduals with special expertise and experience in the area ofutilizing building energy simulation software to assess afacility’s energy performance.

Certified Residential Energy Auditor (REA)Rising energy costs and inefficiencies in homes and res-

idential structures are increasingly driving the need for aqualified residential energy auditors. In response to thisdemand, AEE now offers the REA certification program, whichrecognizes professionals with energy auditing expertise andexperience specific to assessing residential energy use.

CHAPTERS.The Association of Energy Engineers

chapter network includes 71 chapters, com-prising 46 in the United States and 25international chapters. Members have theopportunity to meet with professionals intheir area, hear guest experts speak onissues of regional importance, participatein plant tours and other chapter functions,including newsletters.

COUNCILS.Councils provide a forum for the

exchange of information in specializedareas of member interests.

Energy ManagementProfessionals Council (EMPC).The primary purpose of this council is

to administer the “AEE Energy Managers’Hall of Fame” award, which gives recogni-tion to an individual for his or her lifetimeachievement in energy.

Council on Women in Energy& Environmental Leadership(CWEEL).The Council on Women in Energy &

Environmental Leadership was organized todevelop a prominent voice for women in theindustry. Its goals are to provide represen-tation of women in industry-related policyissues, such as the National Energy Policy,addressing the high cost of energy, ourpresent and future sources of energy, andthe impact of energy on the environment;to secure a future in energy-related techni-cal fields for women by supporting train-ing, education, and mentoring of younggirls and women; and to contribute to theadvancement of women in leadershippositions throughout the industry.

Energy ServicesMarketing Society (ESMS).ESMS, formerly known as the Demand-

Side Management Society, meets thegrowing needs of professionals involvedin the energy services, demand-sidemanagement, and power marketingindustry. ESMS members also receive asubscription to the ESMS electronicnewsletter in addition to the roster ofpublications that AEE members receive.

The Facility ManagersInstitute (FMI).The role of today’s facility manager

spans a cross-section of job responsibili-ties including: energy procurement, secu-rity, building performance, maintenancescheduling, equipment upgrades, multi-site portfolio management, budget plan-ning, energy efficiency, communicationstechnology, environmental compliance, andemployee productivity. The FMI division ofAEE is dedicated to providing its membersindustry information, conference andseminar programs, reference books, andmarketplace surveys to enhance theirknowledge base and job effectiveness.FMI membership includes a subscriptionto Facility Management News.

The Environmental Engineers& Managers Institute (EEMI).This division focuses on issues such

as underground storage tank leaks,indoor air quality, CFCs and ozone deple-tion, energy policy and the greenhouseeffect, hazardous material, and waterpollution. The Environmental Engineers &Managers Institute publishes the quarterlyonline newsletter Environmental News. Thedivision also sponsors AEE’s environ-mental conferences and shows.

The Cogeneration & DistributedGeneration Institute (CI).The Cogeneration Institute is com-

posed of professionals representing allsegments of the cogeneration and distrib-uted generation industry. Interest areas in-clude independent power production, exemptwholesale generators, and power industrydevelopments. Division members receiveall AEE publications plus the Cogeneration& Distributed Generation Journal andCogeneration and On-site Power Productionmagazine.
