Andr Adams, our founder, started repairing brass instruments in 1970. He gained experience as an instrument maker with various well-known firms throughout Europe. Music was his hobby, engineering his passion. It was a combination that was one day to lead to the emergence of one of the worlds largest manufacturer of percussion instruments. As a result of the partnership with professional and amateur musicians, many musical improvements have been introduced over the years. On a scientific front, cooperation with several universities has given rise to many innovations. This scientific knowledge has played a significant role in maintaining

continuity in instrument production. After all, musical instruments are made up of various parts, all of which play an important part in the instruments final sound. For instance, the frame of a timpani is just as important as the kettle itself. Coordination between the two - and the resulting sound reproduction - must be perfect. The Adams Artist Marimbas are made from the best materials and is the first choice for any marimba player. After many years of research, Adams Instruments proudly present new marimba bars. While nothing visually has changed, the sound and ease of playing from these bars has been drastically improved. In the 1990s, Adams began to purchase a higher quality rosewood than was previously ever available. Mr. Andr Adams and Mr. Frans Swinkels visited the Honduran forests several times to select the best possible wood for the production of their marimba bars. Adams stores rosewood in a special climate-controlled room for 8 years to insure precise aging. The result is a phenomenal -sounding faster, clearer, tone and pitch. Our Artist Series uses the finest hand selected Honduran Rosewood subjected to an 8 year climate controlled aging process to ensure complete tuning consistency. Each bar is meticulously finished and sealed with Adams proprietary sound enhancing lacquer. The resonator rails attach to our Voyager frame via a soft rubber mount. This mounting system allow the resonators to float for unhindered resonance and sustain. Resonators are fully welded to prevent mechanical noise then powder coated for extreme durability. Adams offers Xylophones in a wide variety of sizes and bar materials to accommodate

every player and venue. Our Concert Series Xylophone offers the ultimate in both sound

and quality. Its carefully selected Honduras Rosewood bars are manufactured in a graduated

wide bar format for optimum sound quality and supreme projection. Soloist Series instruments

have a uniform bar width configuration in both 3.5 and 4.0 octave ranges. As with all Adams

instruments, each Xylophone bar is hand-adjusted to the sixth overtone and precisely

Adams vibraphone motor and drive belts are completely enclosed within the beautifully finished wooden upper end cap of the instrument, providing both easy access to its top mounted controls, excellent protection from the elements, and nearly silent operation. The clean and dependable top mounted, backlit controls allow the player to choose whether the fans stop in either the open or closed position. The open rail system of the Adams Artist glockenspiel not only allows for the possibility of the foot operated damper system, but also eliminates case noise that is normally produced by bells that are mounted in a box. The Patent-pending reversible damper system allows the player to operate the pedal like a vibraphone (normal on / pedal down to release) or in a reverse position (pedal off / pedal down to dampen) depending on the musical necessity. Unique to this damper system is also the feature that the accidentals are still mounted in a normal stacked configuration, making the Adams glockenspiel the most playable and practical instrument available.

Every Philharmonic Light bowl is made of the highest quality select copper, from one single piece without seams or soldering. The bowls are even and matched tone from drum to drum. Every detail of these superior bowls, from the shape of the lip, to the taper and depth, has been developed through years of research in conjunction with top professional timpanists from all over the world. The result is a drum that has the most beautiful, long-ringing, fundamental pitch-core you will ever hear. From whisper soft, to the loudest end of the dynamic spectrum, these bowls project beautifully and are virtually impossible to overplay. SCHNELLAR SERIES TIMPANI

Adams proudly introduces the Schnellar Series timpani, the infamous sound of the Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra in Amsterdam a sound now available to the rest of the

world for the first time. Adams new Schnellar Series timpani were developed over several years with Marinus Komst

and Nick Woud, the timpani players of the Concertgebouw, and delivered to the orchestra in April of 2009. While painstakingly developing this new model based on the original Schnellar timpani the orchestra used for many

decades, Adams has made new innovations that offer the ideal sound both musicians were looking for.Now you can experience the power and complexity formerly only heard from The Netherlands. A unique base with only three legs

was developed to enhance the tonal character of this unique tuning system in which the tension rods and head stay

stationary, and the bowl itself moves vertically to change pitch. In order to fully capture the tonal characteristics of

this system, materials were carefully selected and reduced to the absolute minimum. The bowl shape and production

techniques were completely changed to accommodate the pedal function while maximizing the response and projection.

While these drums are based on an older design, the tone, functionality, and musicality is modern and contemporary. These drums utilize calf heads with a claw tension system,

Adams Professional series Timpani offer an unbelievably affordable price for an instrument of this quality. They feature both a wide range of bowl configurations, plus a perfect combination of exclusive features unmatched by the competition. The Professional series pedal mechanism is a balanced action system, designed to balance the head tension against the spring mechanism located in the base of the timpani. The entire tension mechanism is located outside the kettle, allowing maximum unobstructed tone quality. Adams has taken the balanced action design to the next level, eliminating a number of the original design flaws that are so common with systems designed by other manufactures. All Professional series Timpani provide two wheels, each designed with a braking mechanism that prevents the wheel from not only turning but also from rotating.

Patented Wide Range / Fine Tuner allows the player reach over 1 octave per timpani with the pedal base attached. The Range Tuner

The Adams Baroque Timpani is designed in the tradition of the 18th century, a perfect balance between traditional perfection and 21st century technology. A combination of

the finest Kalfo heads and a timpani bowl that is developed and produced by Adams, special to match the sound of the old character needed for baroque timpani. These timpani

have a very clear and bright sound in their whole range. This clear tone enables a precise articulation. Because of the fine thread of the tuning screws, the instrument

The Adams accessory bar is completely square, providing a slip free mounting surface that will not creep or rotate, even under extremely heavy loads.
