As soloist, violinist Kevin Jang has made concerto appearances at the Aspen Music Festival and the Cascade Festival of Music in Bend, Oregon, with the Catholic University Symphony and the Peabody Conductor’s Orchestra. Kevin has collaborated as soloist with such conductors as Murry Sidlin, Elizabeth Schultze and Metropolitan Opera assistant conductor Kazem Abdullah. Also has worked closely with members of the Cleveland, Curtis, Brentano, Muir, Miro and Mendelssohn Quartets, in the Aspen Music Festival, Kent/Blossom Music, where he was awarded the prestigious Joseph Gingold Award for outstanding performance of chamber music, the Emerging Quartet Program with the Muir Quartet and the ENCORE School for Strings. Violist Kate Zahradnik has recently performed with the Harrisburg, Delaware, Amarillo, and Chesapeake Orchestras and the Amadeus Concerts as well as the Maryland Lyric Opera. Past studies include Bachelor of Music and Graduate Performance degrees from the Peabody Conservatory with Stephen Wyrczynski. Pianist Li-Ly Chang has performed in Asia, Europe and US as a soloist & chamber musician. Her compositions have recently been premiered at Kennedy Center Millennium Stage & US State Department. Atlantic Guitar Quartet, founded in 2010, is a contemporary music ensemble dedicated to promoting the music of living composers. In this concert, they will also include some traditional Quartet music by Brouwer, Satie, Josquin Des Prez, Arvo Part, Fred Frith, and holiday favorites. AGQ has been proactive in expanding the repertoire of the classical guitar quartet by commissioning new works with major institutional support by the Presser Foundation and the Peabody Conservatory. Through virtuosic performances, innovative programing and collaborations with other visual and performing artists, AGQ , Mark Edwards, Kevin Shannon, Zoe Johnstone Stewart, Jonathan Zwi, has broadened the repertoire for – and the definition of – the classical guitar quartet. Their debut album which includes music by D.Smooke, C. Gainey , O. Bensa and R. A rare opportunity to hear two highly regarded musicians-violist, Kathryn Murdock, oboist, Mark Hill perform together with pianist, Li-Ly Chang in masterworks of the Trio/Duo repertoire for viola, oboe & piano. Violist Kathryn Murdock is recognized as a soloist, chamber musician and teacher. She has performed throughout the world with such groups as the Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, the New York Philharmonic, the Boston Chamber Music Society, and the Mendelssohn String Quartet, of which she was a member for seven years. As a participant in the Marlboro Festival, she has toured with “Music From Marlboro” and performed on their fortieth anniversary concert. Mark Hill has earned a wide reputation as an oboe and English horn soloist, chamber musician, orchestral player, recording artist and teacher. In the symphonic world he has been invited to perform with the New York Philharmonic, the National Symphony, the Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra, the San Diego Symphony, the Orchestra of the Academy of St.-Martins-in-the-Fields, Orpheus, the Mostly Mozart Orchestra, and the Orchestra of St. Luke’s. He was for many years a member of the New York Chamber Symphony and is currently principal oboe of the National Philharmonic. This husband and wife team are both professors at the University of Maryland. Pianist Li-Ly Chang has cultivated a versatile career as soloist, chamber musician & composer. Castle In The Mist Saturday September 25th, 2010 at 8pm Flutist Jennifer Rundlett earned her Masters degree from Peabody Conservatory under Tim Day and studied at the Royal Northern College of Music in England with the famous flute pedagogist Trevor Wye. She is on the faculty of the Frederick Community College and Mount St. Mary’s University. She will play music by Amy Beach, Cecil Chaminade and “Castle in the Mist” by Phyllis Avida Louke, using the C flute, the alto flute and the piccolo. Her flute is a Powell gold flute with a platinum riser. Pianist Li-Ly Chang is Director of the International Young Artist Piano Competition and commissioned composer in 2011 of the Maryland State Music Teachers Association. was hailed by the New York Times as “an artist to watch with a fine blend of technical skill and interpretive insight.” She was silver medalist at Villa Lobos International Competition in 1976 and taught at the University of Illinois. She will play “The Suite Populaire Espanole” by Manuel de Falla, then Martinu’s “Trio” and Li-Ly Chang’s “Fantasia” both for flute, cello and piano.

Trio Music Pilgrim Sunday December 5, 2010 at 3pm Celebrate the holiday season with Trio Music Pilgrim: Vladimir Fridman, Japan and released solo albums. Seth Kibel, Polish clarinetist, flutist and saxophonist, is one of the Mid-Atlantics’s premier woodwind specialists and winner of 17 “Wammies” (Washington Area Music Awards). Bob Abbott, German/Scottish bassist, has been an anchor in the Bay Jazz Project, a Wammie nominated jazz group. They have earned renown for playing diverse musical styles including classical, Latin American (music by Piazzolla, Tangos, Milongas, Bossa-Novas), Klezmer music (Bulgars, Freilakhs, Yiddish songs), and holiday music as well as original compositions.

Atlantic Reed Consort strives to bring chamber music to a broad audience in an unexpected format. A quintet comprised of all reed instruments, the Atlantic Reed Consort’s cutting edge sound and style embraces the experimental, as well as adding a new twist to the likes of Bach, Vivaldi and Debussy. The Atlantic Reed Consort - Kevin Darrow, Oboe, Brooke Emery, Clarinet, John Romano, Bass Clarinet, Jeremy Koch, Saxophone and Eddie Sanders , Bassoon, lend a fresh new sound to the quintet medium. They promote chamber music through educational clinics and recitals for children, teens and collegiate level musicians, as well as public outreach concerts for audiences of all ages.
