MISSION STATEMENT e University of Puget Sound Little Loggers All-Sports Camp is committed to providing young people an oppor- tunity to experience the joys of athletic participation. We strive to deliver a variety of sport opportunities that focus on fundamentals, enthusiasm and sportsmanship. It is our goal to provide: •Enthusiastic and positive coaching •Foster an appreciation for active and healthy life choices •Provide a safe environment and outstanding facilities •Help develop respect and tolerance for others •Encourage young people to become their own personal best Each camper will receive a camp t-shirt, participation certificate and free game tickets to a Logger sporting event. CAMP CONCEPT e Little Loggers All-Sports Camp begins each day with full group warm-up activities. Campers are then introduced to a different sport every hour. In addition to fundamental instruction, Little Loggers will exhibit their skills in fun drills and game-like activities. e camp will culminate with the Logger Olympics. Little Loggers All-Sports Camp will introduce participants to a college campus environment and provide educational components as well. SPORTS Basketball, soccer, flag football, baseball/soſtball, volleyball, swimming, lacrosse, track & field, tennis and floor hockey. (Equipment lists will be provided in your confirmation packet) TYPICAL DAY 9:00 - 9:20 a.m. Logger Wake Up (Music/Play) 9:30 - 10:30a.m. Sport Session 10:40 - 11:30a.m. Sport Session 11:30 - 12:15p.m. Sport Session 12:15 - 1:15 p.m. Lunch 1:20 - 2:00p.m. Sport Session 2:10 - 3:00p.m. Sport Session 3:10 - 4:00p.m. Pick a sport LUNCH Campers are asked to bring a lunch each day except for ursday. Please make sure to label lunch bags with campers name. Water will be available at each sport site throughout the day and regular breaks will be provided. Energy and encouragement are the cornerstones of coaching for the Little Logger Camp. FACILITIES Puget Sound is the home of beautiful Peyton Field, which in- cludes a first-class track and field facility and playing field for football, soccer and women’s lacrosse. e campus, located in the north end of Tacoma, is also home to Memorial Fieldhouse, Wallace Pool, a six-court indoor tennis facility, baseball and soſtball fields as well as additional practice fields. REGISTRATION A registration form is included on this brochure or you can print a copy of the registration form off our Web site www. ups.edu/athletics. e form can be returned by mail to University of Puget Sound All-Sports Camp, Athletics #1044, 1500 North Warner, Tacoma, Washington 98416-1044. Please include payment with registration. Be sure to register early! Enrollment in our All-Sports Camp is limited. MEDICAL RELEASE FOR LOGGER SUMMER CAMPSI, the undersigned parent/guardian of _____________________, a minor, do hereby authorize the directors, staff and medical staff of the Logger Camp or their designee to act for me according to their best judgment in any emergency requiring medical atten-tion, and to select hospital facilities and/or a physician of their choice and authorize treatment of the above named camper on an emergency basis in the event that such treatment becomes neces-sary as a result of participation in the Logger Camp. I will be responsible for any medical or other charges in connection with her/his participation at camp. I understand the above named camper will be involved in strenuous physical activity. I hereby grant permission for the above named camper to participate in all camp activities. I have no knowledge of any physical impairment that would be affected by the above named camperʼs participation in the camp program. I understand participation can result in injury, includ-ing, but not limited to catastrophic injury, death, paralysis, injury to virtually all bones, joints, ligaments, muscles, and tendons and serious injury or impairment to other aspects of the body. I hereby assume all risks associated with participation and agree to unconditionally release the University of Puget Sound, its coaches, staff, athletic trainers, and their employees from any and all liability. If a serious injury or medical condition should occur in conjunction with participation in a Logger Summer Camp, the medical and/or coaching staffs will attempt to contact a parent or guardian. In the event immediate contact cannot be established, the following statements are provided for your authorization/per-mission. If you do not wish to provide this authorization, please attach a separate piece of paper explaining what exact procedure you wish to be followed. I/We authorize the camp staff at the University of Puget Sound to render any first aide or preventative, rehabilitative or emergency treatment deemed reasonably necessary to the health and well-being of the above named camper. I/We additionally grant permission for hospitalization treatment at an accredited facility, when it is necessary to protect the health and well-being of the above named camper, in the judgment of the camp staff.
