our most advanced

Rod-project ever, consists of no less than36 rods. This year we are happy to introduce another three double handed rods for the lighter line sizes. Every rod in its group has been carefully designed and created to match the exact given lineweight and the fishing it is aimed at.

the BlankA complex mixture of different cloths in the same blanks, have made it possible to draw more power and sensitivity out of the rods than ever before. It has also enabled us to influence the action in smaller sections in the blanks and to create actions that are responsive, without power interruptions and that connect the tip sections to the butt in an unparalleled manner. The 2008 generation of these rods have been further improved and reinforced by the manufacturer to ensure even better and dependable performance. This technology will doubtless be the backbone in our way of designing and building rods for several years to come.

the GripThe ergonomic shaped handles have been replaced by common style halfwells and fullwells handles in best possible cork quality. Grips on the double handed rods remain the same.

the reelseatAll rods up to lineweight 5 have been fitted with new “classic-looking” reelseats with beautiful wooden inserts. A new development sees the lightest design imaginable in these beauties. The original great looking and precision made aluminium reelseats, inspired by the award winning INEX reel, ensures a secure hold on all other models of rods including all double handers.

GuidesAll rod-models up to and including lineweight 5, now have snake guides, which in addition to the wooden reelseats, further enhance the classic looks of the rods. All other models are equipped with single leg, elastic and light weight hard chrome guides by REC. They follow every move of the blank, offer very low friction and weigh as little as 1/3 of a traditional snake guide.

Blue waters – Blue skies – Blue rods!

The RS series, primarily is designed to excel in windy open waters, with high line-speeds, larger flies and even bigger fish..These rods are built to last and are equally at home along European coastlines, Caribbean flats as in rivers and lakes with lurking trophy pike. They have a fast, powerful, yet deep curve and are fitted with components that take a real beating and can withstand the brute forces of salty waters. LPXe RS are the sandbags and the casting-machines of modern flyfishing.

rod informationRS has a neat and cool looking Blue Mirror coating over a strong and flexible blank. Each blank has its own unique mixture of different graphite blends. This, in combination with individually designed action curves will load the rod with ease and speed to challenge fast swimming targets at great distances. Each rod is equipped with a strong fighting butt. The reelseats are made of saltwater resistant aluminum with a hard chrome finish and have double locking screws. All stripping guides have a hard, ceramic Hardloy insert. All other guides are strong hard chrome, single leg on the lighter rods and strong snake guides on the heavier models.

CArinG For YoUr SALtY roDS!Your RS rod is built to play it tough. However, all fishing in salt water puts great strain on your gear and demands that you look after your equipment after a day’s fishing. Always rinse in fresh water when you are finished, then wipe dry with a clean, dry cloth. Spray your reel seat and guides with anti-corrosive oil occasionally as well. These few minutes of extra care, will extend the life of your rod many times over, if you are a frequent visitor in salty environ-ments.. The best of components may be totally ruined if the are neglected. Follow this simple advice and your RS rod will bring you many years of joy in the future.

Singlehanded

_By integrating the manufacturing techniques from the LeCie and LPXe rods, we have managed to create performance and balance that is impressive for rods at this price level. AWM rods have gained good popularity all over Europe and we are now happy to introduce three new 9 foot models in the medium heavy range. Be sure to try an AWM next time you get a chance. they won’t leave you disappointed.

sHigh Standard-Low price!

In the AWM series, we use the same manufac-turing process and the same ways of mixing graphite in different parts of the blank, as we do in our more expensive rods. This creates an even curve through the entire blank and the result is an unbeatable contact between the handle and the rod-tip during the cast. The weight and the balance of the rods, reveals a thing or two about the quality of the graphite we use. The blanks have a distinguished, brown/red color and the rods are equipped with our cool looking Guideline reelseat with wooden insert. The cork in the handles is of great quality, quite unusual for rods in this price-point. The stripper guides and the single leg hard-chrome guides are made by Pacific Bay. All AWM rods are 3-piece (except the 8’2” Pike rod) and come with a rod-cloth in a brown Cordura tube.

Singlehanded

n AWM 8603 | 8’6” | #3 | 3-pieceA great rod for lightweight fishing. The length makes it very exact and it is a dream to fish a dry fly and small nymphs with this rod. This is proof that a “fine-art” rod doesn’t have to cost an arm and a leg to have top quality.

n AWM 8904 | 8’9” | #4 | 3-pieceA slightly longer and more powerful alternative to the rod above. This one delivers longer casts and more control in larger waters, with bigger flies or in more wind. This could easily be the first choice rod for a lot of applications in fishing today.

n AWM 9005 | 9’ | #5 | 3-pieceJust as good as you expect a 5-weight rod to be, in order to handle most varied conditions in your fishing. A great rod for medium to large lakes and rivers. The most popular length/line weight in Scandinavia for grayling, trout and rainbows.

n AWM 9006 | 9’ | #6 | 3-pieceThe big brother of the rod above. Handles all the things of the 5-weight and a little more, it can also be used for seatrout on calm days on the coast.

n AWM 9006 | 9’ | #7 | 3-pieceFrom the beginning his rod was developed for Pike, but it will be a hit for seatrout, sea bass rainbows and other strong fighters along lakes, coasts and medium sized rivers.

n AWM 9006 | 9’ | #8 | 3-pieceAn economic alternative if you are about to try your luck with bonefish or other saltwater torpe-does in the small to medium size. Powerful rod that works well for seatrout in rivers as well.

n AWM 9006 | 9’ | #9 | 3-pieceA great match with our new PIKE Series flylines. This is the best line size if you want to be in control of your cast, your fly and a monster pike in the end of you gear.

n AWM 9307 | 9’3” | #7 | 3-pieceA very popular rod for reservoirs and lakes, as well as for the coast. Handles larger flies and a great deal of wind with ease.

n AWM 1007 | 10’ | #7 | 3-pieceThis is an awesome ten-footer. Actually, it proba-bly belongs to the best we have ever developed! You just have to test and cast it!. A fantastic rod for reservoirs, but also for seatrout and smaller summer salmon in rivers or on the coast.

n AWM 1008 | 10’ | #8 | 3-pieceA powerful and long-casting rod for seatrout and salmon. This one develops high linespeed, which generates long casts with little effort. Here, you have backbone enough to fight large, strong fish. The balance of the rod makes it ok to handle during long fishing days.

n AWM 8210 | 8’2” | #10 | 2-pieceA specialist rod, developed to fish for Pike ”Jerk-Style” with a fly..Brutal power in a short rod makes casting, fishing, hooking and landing fish easy when fishing from a boat. Can be used for tropical fishing as well.

Doublehanded

n AWM 13089 | 13’ | #8/9 | 3-pieceInspired by the LPXe 13 footer, but a little more forgiving, which makes it the perfect choice for those who are about to start fishing with double handed rods for salmon & seatrout. Perfectly sui-ted for small to medium size rivers. Matches well with our new Ready-To-Go heads in 8/9 weight.

n AWM 140910 | 14’ | #9/10 | 3-pieceAn ideal all rounder. For some reason a length that has been “forgotten” during the last years. What a pity! This is probably the optimum length for the widest variety of fishing if you want to invest in only one rod. Try it with a Ready-To-Go, Distance head in 9/10 weight!

n AWM 1491011 | 14’9” | #10/11 | 3-piece A rod that almost equals the rod that stood model for it; LPXe 15’! This is a steal for the money. Loads of great, fishy feeling, plus tons of casting power for REAL distance. Rig it with a Power Taper Ready-To-Go, Distance 10/11 line and you have a super kit!

QUADRA has evolved from hours of thinking, sketching and testing of various solutions on important details. The end result is a flyreel that we hope will stand its ground for years to come. It combines timeless, esthetic looks with modern Large Arbor ideas in a cool mix. These reels are manufactured in T-6061 titanium anodized aluminum. Finish and workmanship are as good as it gets. This shows in nice rounded edges with beautiful radius, smooth retrieve and a drag system that works smoothly over the full setting. We have used cork- and Carbontex brake discs, safely protected in a cylinder in the centre shaft. The dimensions, featuring rather large outer diameters and a medium wide spool, assist the smooth run of the reel and ensures drag pressures remain consistent throughout a long run from strong fish. The drag can be set in 25 different positions and is easily adjusted with the drag knob positioned on the housing side of the reel. There is a moderate drag sound in the outgoing direction, but the reel is silent when you retrieve line. The two largest sizes are fitted with a threaded locking system for the spool, whilst the three smaller sizes feature a pop-out release.

Despite the low weight, these reels are solid and dependable in every way. QUADRA reels can be adjusted from right to left hand retrieve. The reels come in sizes; 24, 46, 68, 810 and 1012. All sizes have a full frame for extra strength against torsion as well as protection against thin shooting lines finding their way in between the spool and the housing. QUADRA reels are expected to be in stock during the later part of April.Color: anodized Gun metal with matte Guide-Finish details. protective neoprene case in cool grey/orange color is included with delivery.

The REELMASTER reels have been regarded as being among the best in their class and price range for several years now. We have used them for trout, bonefish, salmon and even tarpon, both the drag and the balance of the spool are simply put, great. REELMASTER features a large arbor design that reduces line-coiling problems and improves the retrieve speed considerably. The reliable and easily adjusted Lock Drag system will work regardless if the reel is wet or dry. REELMASTER offers both reliability and great looks at a favorable price. To ensure a good start in flyfishing, REELMASTER reels are also included in our popular Fly Starter Kits. Available in 4 sizes from Light Trout up to Salmon.

information

REELMASTER reels are manufactured in strong, lightweight 906/2 aluminium, a material combining strength and low weight in a great way. Through a unique process, utilizing both turning and forging, a reel with outstanding finish at a low price is achieved. The large, easily accessible drag knob in the back makes the drag easy to adjust and it has proven itself very dependable and even. The main shaft is tempered to make it even stronger and withstand high temperatures from drag-friction when large fish run long distances. The needle bearing in the centre is stainless, to battle the toughest conditions also in the salt. This bearing is simply turned around, to shift the reel from right to left hand wind. rEELmaSTEr has a matte grey finish and comes in a nice, protective neoprene case.

These reels have gained good scores in various tests and reviews in magazines around Europe in the last couple of years. Price and performance are perfectly in sync here. IGMA reels are designed and constructed to cope with the most varied and tough fishing conditions you are ever likely to encounter. These are solid work-horses turned from the best bar stock aluminum. In other words; No plastic junk.

information

IGMA is a modern Large Arbor fly reel turned from T-6064 bar stock aluminium. This makes the reels light weight and strong. IGMA has a brake system that has been through several development and testing stages, before the final production. Comparing price, quality and performance, we strongly believe we have a very good product with this reel. The reels come in a nice, grey tough titanium finish and are delivered in a neoprene case. IGma is available in four different sizes; 35, 57, 79 and 10/11.

_Flylines have always been one of our most important product groups in the range. throughout the years, several lines that have received appreciation and high status, have come and gone. this year’s line-up, as usual, contains a good mix of old proven names and some new exciting newcomers. We continue our commitment to the fast growing Pike fishing with the fly, by presenting two new lines, as well as a brand new development for Scandinavian “flats-fishing” targeting, seatrout and other shallow water feeders. of course, we keep our bestselling lines in the range as well. A piece of advice.. the rS line is definitely one of the best casting lines we have made. Awesome performance, but not yet discovered by the crowds.

Presentation the Dry High Water

PRESENTATION is a trout line, designed to perform in tight, overgrown waters, where room for casting is limited. The short belly offers a better chance to perform various presentation casts and speed-changes, even with the lightest of rods. As the total head length doesn’t exceed 8,5 meters, the line is ideally suited for short range fishing or when wading deep. You could be misled into thinking that this line doesn’t offer the control needed for presentation fishing, but don’t worry; it sure does perform.

THE DRY is a Long Belly WF line with a 17 meter head that casts absolutely superb. It saw the light of day after a summer-long chal-lenge of some BIG Norwegian Brown Trout, almost unreachable in a larger river. After countless hours of cutting, gluing and testing, this line finally evolved from the hands of Kai Finnbraaten. A good caster will control 20-22 meters of line outside the rod tip, with parallel loops without any “sag”. On shorter casts, THE DRY presents the fly like a whisper. And the long distance casts? Simply amazing!

HIGH WATER is one of the nicest lines we have ever developed. It is dedicated to pre-sentation fishing at medium to long range. It is built with a smooth 12 meter long head, which sets controlled, parallel loops from mid-distance to the full line length. The slightly drawn out back taper gives the line good flexibility in the handling of line out-side the rod tip. HIGH WATER is produced in ACT (Advanced Coating Technology), maybe the most advanced coating quality available today.

TRICAST WF is our top selling weight for-ward line ever. It is no coincidence. TRICAST is so easy to cast and so allround for use, that most people like it instantly.

n TrICaST WF FLOaTOur top selling WF line. A two-colored, floating line, with head and running line in dif-ferent colors to aid your control when casting. n TrI CaST hOVEr/INTErmEDIaTEThis line features an extremely slow sinking belly with a transparent coating that is connec-ted to a thin floating running line in yellow color. n TrICaST CLEar INTErmEDIaTE TIpThis is a monocore Sink-Tip line, with 10´clear intermediate fast sinking tip. Excel-lent for rainbows and seatrout.

Maybe one of the most over-looked lines in the GUIDELINE range. A favorite among the Power Team and staff. Designed for heavier single-handed fishing, this line is similar to High Water both in taper and quality, but it has a slightly more powerful front, to combat wind and bulkier flies even better. The buildup of the taper enables high linespeed, tight loops and long casts, when necessary. A very useful flyline that performs particularly well with overhead casts. RS is made with ACT coating, which offers the most advanced chemical solution for low friction that is available on the market today.

One of the most exciting news 2008! COASTAL is aimed at flyfishers targeting Seatrout, Sea Bass and other species requiring a stealthy approach and long, accurate casts with a flyline that leaves no wake on the surface. The low-profile head has a length of 10,5 meters and transfers into a floating runningline that makes up the rest of the 32 meter long WF line. Built on a core with only 5% stretch, it will detect the tiniest pulls from a shy fish, increasing hook-up rate and statistics of fish landed dramatically. The sink rate is 1,25 cm/sec. making it ideal for fishing just under the surface, even at a relatively slow retrieve. Color: Pale Blue Head/Bone runningline.

A flyline that is virtually unaffected by wind and larger flies. Shoots like a rocket! BUL-LET features a great balance and doesn’t collapse, despite the short, head. This, of course because of the way the taper is designed, dampening any disturbance in the loop and sending the line flying with a minimum of blind casts. Just lift and shoot; you’ll be amazed at the result!

BULLET Nymph This line is based on the same tapers and has the same features as the floating version, but it has an intermediate front. This gives a good turnover and very exact casts. It is also a very effective fishing line... We just felt we had to make this one.

A full floating line for Tarpon, Jacks and other strong fighters in tropical waters This line is based on the taper of the Bonefish line, but has a longer head and a more powerful front taper to carry larger flies with ease. Use this line when the fish are cruising close to the surface or when fishing shallow flats or mangrove areas. Saltwater coating makes sure the line performs well in hot weather.

A line that masters large flies, strong winds and BIG fish. The short weight-concen-trated head, loads the rod quickly, giving you the chance to react fast when a fish suddenly shows up. This is a lift-and-shoot line, for fast saltwater torpedoes. The front 3,5 meters (11`) of the line are transparent/intermediate. This line is built on an extra strong monocore.

FORCE is a well-balanced, all-round line for those who seek a combination of smooth presentations and distance when needed. FORCE sets lovely, tight loops and handles directional- and speed changes with ease. Every individual line-weight has a different profile and taper, to maximize the perfor-mance for the type of fishing each line size is suited for. FORCE performs well in windy conditions, offers good line control and is a very easy line to master, also for the intermediate caster.

FOrCE CamO FORCE is also available in a discreet CAMO Olive/Green color for spooky fish. FORCE Camo is available in line-sizes #2 up to #6. A fantastic line to fish and cast, pure joy.

A favorite with many lake-, river- and coast-anglers. POUNCH PRO will cast your fly during any kind of windy conditions and at the same time; turn over your leader in deli-cate presentations. The combined features of a traditional and a triangular body is the key to the performance and it sets needle-sharp loops with no effort. POUNCH PRO has earned a great reputation among the coastal flyfishers along the German, Swedish and Danish coasts during the last couple of years. It is a very versatile taper that will work great in the rainbow lake as well. The length of the belly makes it easy to handle and it sets a tight loop with spey-casts also.

This line is built to perform at its best, when chasing spooky bonefish and having to fire quick, accurate mid-range casts, when the shots appear. The front taper is rather long, but still with power enough to carry a lead-eyed Crazy Charlie with great precision even in a nasty side-wind. A line that has raised many eye-brows among guides and professionals in a wide variety of destinations.

This line is based on the IMPACT floater, including a running line of “Ridge” type and our DC low stretch core that has a maximum stretch of 5%. The head is 62’or 18,9 meters including the 13,5’ or 4,5 meter exchangeable tip section. We have chosen three very useful tips that come in a practical shooting head wallet together with the line. It’s a Float, a Hover/Intermediate and a Sink1/Sink2. Total length of the line is 37 meters. The color is sky blue with an orange running line. BILL DRURY MULTI TIP LINE is available in line weight 8/9, 9/10 and 10/11.

Optimum length for most anglers, who do some wading during the fishing, who fish medium to long distances and also for those who find it a little difficult to control a very long head on the water. The light blue head and the orange runningline contrast well and make it easier to determine correct casting length. The black casting-mark indicates correct line length if you keep it next to yourupper casting hand. The line is 36meters long. IMPACT SPEY LINE 62’is available in line weight 8/9, 9/10and 10/11. Manufactured in floating and S1/S2 in line weight 9/10 and 10/11. Head weight: 43 g in 8/9, 45 gr in 9/10 and 49 g in 10/11.

The 74´version is design especially for the skilled Speycaster and those who demand extremely long distance casts in their fishing. This line has a total length of 45 yards. A unique taper helps create tighter and more controlled loops than a traditional Speyline is capable of. The integrated ideas of Power Taper shooting head technology into a full length line, is the reason for that. IMPACT lines are two-colored giving the caster good control over correct line-length when setting up the D-loop. BILL DRURY IMPACT SPEY LINE is available in line weight 9/10 and 10/11. Head weight: 51gr in 9/10 and 56g in 10/11.

the Bill Drury impact Spey line combines a modern, complex taper, with the very latest in flyline technology. A ridged running-line, offers higher floating properties and at the same time less friction and “stick” in the guides, because of its unique profile, it leaves only a fraction of the surface to touch the guides through the cast. Each impact line is built on an extreme low (6%) stretch Power core braid, which offers superior contact with the fly throughout the fishing. this also creates maxi-mum control over the line through the pick-up and the release of the cast. these lines come in two different versions; 62´and a 74´head lengths.

Flyfishing for Pike is a fast growing part of modern flyfishing. new techniques and innovative fly patterns for both surface and sinking line fishing are increasing the demand for the right lines as well. the Pike Series from Guideline offers the angler the option of two different lines that cover several of the situations that you encounter during fishing. there is a full WF Floater with a custom taper and a MD (Multi Density) sinking line for fish that hold on the drop offs. Both lines are built on our popular DC (Direct Contact) Low Stretch Core, ensuring a drastically increased hook-up rate.

A revolutionary new taper and the use ofmultiple densities have resulted in a uniqueline for those occasions where the big fishare hanging outside the shallows in depthsof 2-5 meters. This line was designed byFinnish Pike fishing expert, Markus Männistö, who has a vast experience in fishingfor Pike with the fly. An aggressive taperand the increasing density towards the tip, make this line stay at the desired depthduring a longer part of the retrieve. Thetaper also helps when loading the rod fora new cast, with only very little line outsidethe rod tip. The running line balances verywell against the 10,6 meter long head.

This line was developed entirely based on the needs and the fishing-principles of Pike Flyfishing. The new type of taper used, will make casting large, bushy flies significantly easier than with standard WF lines. The unique distribution of the weight towards the front, has great impact on turnover and presentation of these difficult flies. A well balanced dimension on the runningline aids turnover even under dif-ficult head wind conditions or when fishing from a boat. The length of the belly is 10,6 meters and the total length of the line is 28 meters. Color Sky Blue. Available in Lineweight #7-10.

1. Measure the total length of your shooting Head out of the box.

2. Mark your desired length according to the chart, with a marker pen. Add one meter just to be on the safe side.

3. Always cut from the back end. (the thickest part)

4. Tie the shooting head directly to your shooting line. Test it on water, it has to feel easy to cast both at distance and at angled spey casts. It is pretty easy to determine if it feels right or not.

5. The part of the shooting head that has to be pulled inside the tip guide, is too long and should be cut.

6. Don’t cut too much at once. It is better to shorten it by 15-30 cm at the time until you hit it perfect.

7. When rod and line balance well and you feel comfortable casting the rig, you have found the correct length.

8. Important! When you cast and customize your head, remember to have between a half and one meter of the shooting line outside the rod tip when casting. This is called “overhang” and is the key to creating tight, narrow loops.

9. If you are wading deep, or fish in over-grown, tight places it helps to use a one size heavier shooting head and cut the heads a bit shorter. See Type 1 recommendations in the chart. A shorter and slightly heavier head will be easier in those circumstances.

10. For the best allround performance, suitable for both spey- and overhead casts, use the recommendations in the Type 2 columns in the chart below.

Remember that this chart is a recommendation only! Always have the following in mind; Are you wading deep and often, do you fish smaller, over-grown rivers? We have divided the length/weight ratio into two different categories; TYPE 1 is the shorter option, suitable for tighter and more difficult conditions. For example: Use a PT #9/10 cut at 10,5-10,9 meters if you fish tight waters with an LPXe 13´8/9wt rod. If you fish more open rivers, then look in the TYPE 2 section of the chart. The same #9/10 head, but cut at 11,8-12,5 meters will work perfect with a LeCie 14’8 # 9/10 rod. This longer head will work superbly if you have a bit more room and want to achieve great distance with overhead- or Speycasts.

The above lengths are for Float, F/S1, F/S3, Stream Dip, H/I, I/S1, S1/S2 and S2/S3 lines. When you use the faster sinking lines, you might want to cut them back a little more so they become easier to handle.

the classic Power taper System offers the angler the oppor-tunity to adjust his own line, to his own needs. this gives the opportunity to fine tune the length/weight of the shooting head to perfectly match specific needs and preferences. For instance, among the guys in our Power team, there are variations between the preferred weights of 10/11 heads, that span between 38 grams up to 43 grams for the same rod/line combination. So it is not a matter of one single gram being right or wrong.. if you are comfortable with adjusting your heads and making your own loops, these lines definitely still give you the edge. this is how you do it:

DIRECT CONTACT heads have a core that stretches only 6%. These heads have set a new standard in modern sinking lines. They cast better than anything else and they fish better too! The 5 meter higher density tip on each line, presents the fly at the right depth faster than a traditional sinking line. The lines stand out for their incredible casting properties as well. You will also notice how easily you can pull these babies out of the water. The Head generates high linespeed, tight loops and great distance. It has a solid, powerful turnover that stays true with large flies, as well as in hard and tricky winds. Try these lines together with one of our DC Running Lines! We guarantee a sensational feeling when the fish strikes! Last but not least; they do get the fly down to the fish..

if you can’t present your fly to the fish at the right depth, you probably won’t get it to eat it.. that is why the DDC lines might be the most important lines in the Power taper collection. these lines are available in 5 different models and densities. DoUBLE DEnSitY CoMPEnSAtED is the name.

– the straight path to success!

This fantastic floating line generates high line speed and casts almost like an Intermediate. It has a unique dual two-tone barred chartreuse and yellow color.

A modified version of our “old” bestseller Hover/Clear Blue Intermediate. This one sinks marginally faster but still fishes and cast as good as ever. Built on our DIRECT CONTACT core for superb feeling and sensitivity.

Many anglers regard this line as their most important in the range. It is effective and casts incredibly well. It covers that important middle depth fishing that often produces the takes.

A faster sinking line than the above. Popu-lar for early season fishing. The S2/S3 is equally easy to cast as well. Also available as single hand in # 7/8 and #8/9.

Suitable for a lot of circumstances that cover Hi-Density. Fast, strong currents, deep pools, etc. Easy to pull up and handles all sizes of flies with ease. Available in single hand # 7/8 and #8/9.

Casts like a javelin and sinks like a rock. This is fast! Brings your fly down to desi-red depth in almost any kind of current. Whether dredging for cold water Steel-head or battling tough Westland rivers, this line gets the job done.

These two lines cover most of the fishing you ever do. Choose between the floating or the Intermediate main belly and a set of three different density-compensated tips to vay your tactics. DDC CONNECTt is available in single hand from #6/7 - #8/9 and double hand in #8/9 - #11/12.

This is a popular line for medium deep pools and tricky, turbulent currents. The floating part of the line aids in the control of speed and the angle at which the fly is presented to the fish. Fish it with a Tung-sten Cone and Fluorocarbon leader and you will dredge deep..

An awesome line to cast and fish! It features a floating belly, with a 4,5 meter, very fast sinking tip-section. This combination has always been a dependable “fish finder” but often hard to cast. Stream Dip makes life easier. It offers great control of speed and depth all in addition, without the annoying hinging effect so common in this type of lines. How we did it? Well, that’s our secret.

This is probably the most used Shooting head in Scandinavia ever. There is probably at least one line in every salmon fisher’s possession. This is the 3rd generation. The line is floating and has a Sink1 tip which is around 3,5 meters in length.

A very slow sinking Intermediate. It fishes just under the surface. This line generates higher line speed and energy than a floater. It is manufactured on our DC core that has virtually no stretch at all. A good choice for seatrout on the coast, as it cuts through and stays just underneath the swell.

ShOrT CUT A short head, easy to lift out of the water. It is also a good length when you want a greater angle in your cast, but have obstacles behind you or wade deep in the water. The Short Cut model is the preferred choice for anglers fishing shorter rods or new to twohanded fishing.

DISTaNCEWhenever there is enough space to use a longer head, this one will produce longer and calmer casts. It is also the model that covers more water. For in-stance, if you fish an LPXe 13’ 8/9, you can choose either a SHORT CUT or a DISTANCE # 8/9 to your rod. The purpose of our system is to make it pos-sible to fish as efficiently as possible during varying conditions. A Distance head works better during certain conditions and a Short Cut during other.

Easy to cast, handling both monofila-ment and Polyleaders with ease. The DC core and the marginally more compres-sed weight/length ratio in comparison to Power Taper heads, makes it easy to use for the less experienced angler. Available in both DISTANCE and SHORT CUT version. Color: Mint Green.

A slightly faster alternative to the S1/S2 line above. This one fishes and casts just as well. Very effective in fast and cold water. Only available in the Short Cut Model. Color: Blue/Dark Grey.

Our classic bestseller, now available with loops and our low stretch Direct Contact core. This greatly improves the casting and hook-up properties of this line. The S1 tip is around 3,5 meters long. Available as Distance and Short Cut. Color: Turquoise blue.

Suitable for a wide variety of sinking line fishing. The S3/S4 is easy to handle and pull out of the water. Casts big flies with ease. Only available in Short Cut model. Color: Dark green/Black

A very popular allround line. Fishes just below the surface and generates higher line speed than a full floater, making it a better line to cast in wind. Of course, it has our DC core and al-most no stretch. Available as Distance and Short Cut. Color: Lt. Blue.

Casts like a rocket and sinks like a rock.Brings your fly into the etrike zone faster than a conventional S4 line – and keeps it there. Only available in Short Cut version. Color: Grey

We certainly wouldn’t leave home without this line. Especially not on the DC core. A very useful sink rate that covers a lot fishing throughout the season. Superb to cast, partly thanks to the thin profile and balanced taper. Available as Distance and Short Cut. Color: Clear Lt. Green

Now we are really talking.. Even large, bushy flies will go down quickly with this line, even in heavy, strong cur-rents. Does the job in large, cold rivers. Only available in Short Cut model.

We apologize for sounding like we read a team line-up for a famous football team or something here. But we are sure this line doesn’t need any closer introduction.. One of our all time bestsellers and a must-have in the range. Available as Distance and Short Cut. Color: Mint Green/Grey.

An extrem sinking line for fast turbulent water and places where time is very limited, bringing the fly to the right depth. Can be a savior in large, slow, deep pools when fish lie close to the bottom. Available only as Short Cut model. Color: Black.

Power tapers ready with loops…

over the years, we have hesitated to venture into producing our Power taper Heads in fixed lengths/weights mounted with loops. As there are so many meanings about the right length and the right weight for fishing them, we found it better to leave the decision up to the individual angler. in Scandinavia, there is a long tradition in customizing your own shooting heads, but many people new to salmon fishing hesitate to cut a new line and are afraid to ruin it.

As we now, finally decide to make rEADY-to-Go heads, it is not at all strange.. over the years, we have advised thousands of people to the correct length and weight to use, so we have a pretty good idea about what the best general purpose rig should be like.

There are two different groups of leader materials; monofilament and fluorocarbon. Within each group there are leaders of varying lengths and also spools of tippet material in matching dimensions. Our power Strike material has become increasingly popular over the years and is known for good knot strength and quality. EGOr, our fluorocarbon is well worth the investment. If you have ever fished with these type of leaders and tippets, you know what we are talking about.

Power StrikeAvailable as tippet material on spools and as tapered leaders. Power Strike is manufactured from a 3- layer high molecule monofilament polymer. The inner core is harder and stiffer to improve turnover. The middle layer adds elasticity suppleness and volume. The special formula on the outer coating of the Power Strike range prevents water penetration with 85% and at the same time, it has an outstanding ability to withstand UV-rays.

POWER STRIKE has a good balance between elasticity and elongation. The thinnest dimensions have a more molecular strength, while the heavier ones have a suppler polymer. This is to ensure that thin leaders won’t be too supple and weak and that the thicker material will remain flexible and not too stiff. The material has good knot strength.

Power Strike tippet materialThe leader material has high knot strength, a minimum of spool memory and is easy to straighten. It has good resis-tance against salt water and sunlight. Spools can be easily connected into a dispenser.

tapered leadersOur tapered leaders are based on the same polymer quality and structure as the tippet material. A progressive taper and the energy transfer of the unique 3-layered material create controlled turnovers and presentation of your fly.

Salmon and Seatrout leadersAvailable in 11´, 15´and 22´lengths. The 11´leaders is suitable for both single- and double handed fishing. The 15´and 22´leades are for double handed rods.

See next page for a listing of power Strike dimensions leader lengths, strength etc.

EGOr is a 100% pure fluorocarbon material with proper-ties that will improve your flyfishing in many ways. This material is a bit stiffer than normal mono, which helps the leader to turn over better. During a speycast, the leader will anchor better in the water because of its density.

EGOR is virtually invisible in the water and reduce reflexes from light by up to 60%! Water doesn’t penetrate the material and the density of fluorocarbon makes it sink up to three times faster than monofilament. This fluorocarbon is rated as one of the most expensive qualities, but also one of the very best on the market today. It has an outstanding knot-strength, little elongation and is extremely abrasion resistant.

Egor FC tippet materialAvailable on spools containing up to 50 meters, depending on dimension.

Egor FC tapered leadersProduced in 9´and 12´versions. These leaders have a nice balance between suppleness and strength. The taper creates enough energy to turn the leader over without any problems. Can be extended both in the tip and butt sections with EGOR tippet material.

See next page for a listing of power Strike dimensions leader lengths, strength etc.

Shootinglines

GL ShooterShooter has been our best selling shooting line for several years. A great line for river fishing. This line is also good for use if you are wading and fishing the coast or in Stillwater. The hollow core is filled with air-cells that make the line float. GL SHOOTER is available in three dimensions. 25Ibs, 35Ibs, 50Ibs. Length 30 meters.

LrL+A classic shooting line preferred my many anglers because the line is easy to handle during practical fishing. LRL+ has a tough and slightly harder coating built around a braided Dacron core. It is floating and has almost no memory and is easy to use under all types of conditions. LRL can be looped and connected to all kinds of shooting heads. LRL is available in 4 different models .028”, .032”, .034”, .040”.

LrL DC non StretchShootinglineThis line uses the unique RIDGE technology, which gives significantly less friction and longer casts. It is built around our “DIRECT CONTACT” core with virtually no-stretch. Combined with our DC shooting heads, you fish a rig that gives you an incredible control and contact with your fly. Available in two sizes; 9kg and 13,5 kg. It is floating.

LrL DC non Stretch/Looped ShootinglineThis line uses the same type of core as the one above, but it has a smooth, traditional coating and factory made loops at each end. Available in two sizes; 9kg and 13,5 kg. It is floating.

Compline Our own favorite. This shooting line is solid, oval and slow sinking. It is known for being the most durable and dependable of the shooting line types. It stretches easily, shows little friction and has high breaking strength for its diameter. Available in three sizes; Trout 25 lbs. Seatrout 35 lbs. Salmon 50 lbs..

Micron BackingThin and strong backing of highest quality. MICRON is a mixed Dacron/multifilament line, that is low stretch and saltwater resistant. It is also very resistant to sunlight, oils and many different chemicals. MICRON is available in 20, 30 and 50 Ibs strength and a variety of lengths.

Micra BackingA super strong backing produced from Spectra multifilament fibers. MICRA is incredibly tough and thin, it will add 50-60% more backing on your reel, in comparison to traditional backing. MICRA is available in 20Ibs and 35Ibs strengths and in 3 different lengths.

_there are more changes than ever to our range of clothing this year. We have spent thousands of ours adjusting the small details. there isn’t a single draw cord, nor zipper or fabric, that hasn’t been put under the sharp and trained eyes of the development team. You can see the result on the following pages. Some of the products look almost the same, but they have all received a facelift. in addition to the existing range, you will find many new, functional jackets waders etc. in the range. The synthetic dries in an instant if you get wet or sweaty, thus the name Dry-Quick. “Warm in the winter and cool in the summer. A true favorite”

Dressing up to be prepared for all sorts of weather changes that might occur during a fishing trip is never easy. most fly fishermen have experienced this from time to time. One minute the sun shines from a clear blue sky, the next, rain is pouring down. Wrong clothing often results in sweating and shivering instead of maintaining an even, comfortable temperature. Long fishing days put you to the test and negative experiences can be easily avoided by layering up correctly. Follow these simple advice and we are sure your fishing will be more enjoyable.

LAYEr 1 Your “underwear” in active life, wicking away moisture and sweat from the body. Never use cotton as first layer, it traps moisture, dries slowly and makes you go colder. We recommend the use of Dry Quick L/S t-shirt. It is manufactured in synthetic polyester fabric. It dries very quickly and also transports any moisture into the next layer of clothing. The fabric is perforated by thousands of small holes, acting as storage for warm air. This keeps you warm during frosty fishing trips. The drawback with synthetics is the odor. By washing these type of garments in water warmer than recommended, you will keep the bacteria and bad smell at a low level.

LAYEr 2 Insulates and ventilates your body by transporting excess heat and moisture out into the shell clothing. This layer also keeps your body warm. Our Midweight Top and Midweight pants do this job for us. During very cold conditions, we recommend the use of our bestselling Fleece Bib Pants. They can be used together with other thin underpants or on top of a midweight pant during very cold periods of winter. Our Soft Shell jacket and the new Thermal Hoody can be used directly on top of the Dry Quick or the Midweight top during cold days. Zippers in the jackets and tops improve climate control and make it easy to let excess heat out.

LAYEr 3 The shell-layer is the final protection against wind and rain. All our jackets breathe well through various types of membranes and coatings, depending on garment. There are several different types of membranes on the market. Microporous membranes consist of tiny, tiny holes that let steam (sweat) out but are small enough to create an effective barrier against water trying to penetrate from the outside. Hydrophilic membra-nes work in a different way, by actually transporting both condensated sweat and steam to the outside. They work very well. A membrane is laminated on to various types of fabrics, creating the outside of the garment. The inside is then protected by a thin mesh, liner or coating, to protect the membrane from being damaged during use. It also makes the inside more comfortable against the body. Venting capabilities can be further improved by adding extra zipper that can be opened during hard physical activity. You find this on our Airlite jacket.

SaFETyUse glasses during all kinds of fishing. They are an invaluable protection against hooks and flies that are out of control and they block out harmful UV-rays that can damage your eyes permanently if you aren’t careful enough.

LENS COLOUrSA fish often reflects its surroundings and this makes a fish hard to spot in the water. Most of the time the angler detects the shadow before he actually sees the fish. Therefore, choosing a lens that enhances shadows is very important.

BrIGhT Or DarK LENSES?Polarized glasses help target fish you canactually observe in the water. To maximize your efficiency you need glasses with different colored lenses. This way, you can adapt the color of the lens to the color of the water and to the light.

SMokE/GrEYAbsorbs most colors in the spectrum and gives a true visual experience without any color distortion. Everything just becomes a little darker. Grey lenses work best on sunny days and on open waters.

BB/CoPPErMaybe the best color for general fishing. The lens has a slightly yellow tint, which neu-tralizes blue light and increases the contrast. This is exactly what makes these lenses so good at spotting fish that lie deep. Allround and useable in many conditions, when grey or brown lenses turn out too dark.

BroWnConsidered the best allround color by many people. The Tan lens has a positive effect on contrast and color distortion is at a low level. Works well in many situations in medium to strong light.

SPortSMAn’S YELLoWIncrease contrast a lot and are the perfect choice for overcast conditions or during the darker hours of the day, like mornings and evenings. These lenses have a tendency to become too bright in sunny conditions.

Different patterns in a large variety of wing lengths, from Micro tubes with 4cm (1 ½”) wings to 12 cm (5”) giants for the largest fish. This range offers you a fly for all imaginable conditions, whether it be gin clear low water, high floods or night fishing for seatrout. There are hundreds of Salmon caught on dry flies in Norway each season. It is evident that it works as well there as in Russia, Canada or on Iceland. Baltic Salmon are a bit trickier, but during the right conditions they have been known to take a dry that has been skated above their heads. So give it a try and you may be nicely rewarded. This is definitely one of the coolest ways of fishing for Salmon and the adrenalin rush when a 20 lbs. Salmon hits your fly on the surface cannot be described! Mikael Frödin didn’t invent the Bomber fly, but he has put his touch to these variations, making the greatest pattern of all times even better. TRI BOMBERS are deer hair flies with the right looks and tied on light weight Salar hooks. They have three different colors and carry a fluorescent spot that makes them easy to follow on the surface.

These small tubes are among the most effective for Salmon or Seatrout during summer when rivers are low, clear and warm. Use a floating or Hover/Intermediate line to fish them correctly on a long EGOR Fluorocarbon leader and loaded with a SALAR Treble in size 13 or 15. Pull a short piece of tubing over the eye of the hook, to make it swim straight from the leader. Use fluorescent tubing to add color to your fly. Remember SALAR treble Tube Hooks are available in Gold, Silver and Black color, making it possible to alternate the appea-rance of your fly. The small cone head makes the fly swim correctly.

FitS tungstenThis may seem like a traditional cone head, not much different from those already available on the market - but they sure are not!

These extremely thin tungsten cones have several advantages. They do have the traditional advantage of the weight concentrating properties in standard tungsten cones. The difference is that the thinner material in the cone makes them balance better in the water for their size. They create a perfect balance with SALAR tube hooks, no matter if you prefer dou-ble- or treble hooks. The shape of the cone makes it cut the water nicely, creating a good possibility for the fly to swim. These cones are designed to fit perfectly together with the FITS tubing system. The three smallest sizes fit the x-small tubing and the L size fits the Small size tubing. The cones will fit without any unnecessary dimensional difference or any need for stretching the tubing. Simply put, they just fit – FITS! The thin walled construction offers larger interior space. Finally, no more problems trying to fit tying thread and heads inside the cone.. Tie your flies as before, let the thin tungsten cone slide in place and melt a nice fluorescent edge that locks it securely. Your fly will have a perfect balance and your head will be stronger than any glue and varnish in the world – it FITS

FitS turboSo obvious so ingenious and yet a world first! The cone that brings your fly alive – the cone that allows you to use the softest imaginable materials. Yes, the turbo cone gives your flies unique swimming properties. Let your fly push away as much water as possible, thus creating its own turbulent water stream that will make even the softest materials to move and maintain their volume even in the slowest and hardest of currents. This theory is obvious and genius and in praxis it astounds you! Tie the softest of marabou flies and it will maintain a volume and a lifelike action you never thought possible. Without the turbo cone it turns into a thin, dead string of hairs in hard current. The Turbo Cone creates its own turbulence – its own cur-rent, where the material in the fly works in an incredible way. Finally, you can fish with the most lifelike and soft material in all pools on all imaginable fish lies.

Of course these cones are adapted to the FITS tubing system. The three smallest sizes fit the x-small tubing and the L size fits the Small size tubing. The cones will fit without any unnecessary dimensional difference or any need for stretching the tubing. Simply put, they just fit – FITS!

The Turbo Cone is developed to optimize the properties of your tube flies, but there are endless options and possibilities. Line it with a small piece of tubing and slide it in front of any fly you like. These cones transform a boring Wooly Bugger into a tempting, swimming killer. Or slide it in front of a Bomber or your traditional salmon fly or Micro Tube, Fished on a floating line, you will get a fly that hitch or skate better than ever – Wow, yet another killer combination!

mikael Frödin and håkan Norling have used these flexible plastic tubes for more than 20 years. Today, they are the standard for the modern tube flies used in Scandinavia. The tubing is available in four sizes; X-small, Small, medium and Large. The sizes fit into each other. There is no need for extra tubing to steer the hook. It fits directly into these flexible tubes. The material wont crack in the cold and it works equally well with fixed or loose hook. The dimensions are adapted to work with FITS Turbo and tungsten cone heads. That way, you will get well-balanced flies with the right weight to turn over your cast and make the fly fish more efficiently.

FLUOrESCENT – F.I.T.SThese fluorescent plastic tubes are the single most im-portant news in materials for tube flies, since the arrival of flashabou!! The release of these tubes on the market has changed the look of modern tube flies forever. By using the tubes as they are, or combining them with dubbing or translucent material, you can create a shine to the flies, unlike anything else. The tubing itself con-tains a lot of fluorescence, which makes it glow very well in low light conditions. By burning a Fl. Orange tube, together with a black Cone head, you will create a fluorescent orange band at the front of the Cone. The popular making of riffle tubes now also becomes more exciting. A simple thing like using a small piece of fluorescent tubing in front of a free hanging hook, gives a new exciting look to your fly.
