    Workshops are taught by the talented and interesting artists who help create the performances you see on stage. A choreographer, a dancer, an understudy covering severalroles, a Casting Director or a make-up artist from the shows you will be seeing; these are some of the many artists whoare eager to instruct your groups workshop.

    Provide students with intense, skill-building experiences toenhance their on and off-stage abilities.

    All workshops are based on the National Standards for theArts, taught by working Broadway professionals and are 90minutes in length.

    To build general theatre skills:Stage Combat: Stage Combat, taught by certi edinstructors, explores the art of realistic ght choreographythrough step by step demonstration, illustrates the amountof work involved in the creation and execution of even thesimplest of stage effects and the importance of practice andpreparation.

    Acting Shakespeare: Through script analysis, participantsare able to demystify the aspects of classical theatre.

    Shakespeares plays were written in a time when directors wererarely used, and special attention is given to the clues and hintsincorporated into the writing that help performers choose actingbeats and character intention.

    Acting Improvisation: Acting Improvisation highlightsthe bene ts of taking risks and trusting instinct by using improvgames that focus on group awareness, listening and answeringand creative play.

    To explore the different aspects of

    a Broadway performer:Stage Make-Up 101: A professional make up artistdiscusses the artistic process of make-up design for Broadwayshows. One or two students will be chosen to be made-upduring class, and everyone leaves with expert tips they canapply to their own productions.

    Musical Theatre I: Explore the art of effectively marryingmusic and drama to achieve great emotional impact. Workingwith a professional director and a cast member, your group willbe coached through basic warm-ups and exercises. Severalparticipants will then be given the opportunity to presentprepared material for critique and analysis, focusing on musicaland acting interpretation.

    Musical Theatre II: Experience the fast pace sensationof learning a musical number of a current Broadway show. Yourgroup will learn a musical selection and choreography from acurrent Broadway show taught by current Broadway artists. Thisworkshop can be customized to the show your group is attending.Meet and work with the artists you are going to see on stage!

    Theatre Dance and Movement: Your group willlearn a typical combination taught by a professional dancer/choreographer and have the opportunity to experience thepace, pressure and exhilaration of a dance audition.

    To glimpse inside the life of a perform

    The Business Of The Business: From headshots andresumes to agents and casting directors, this program coversthe basics of what tools are needed to pursue a career in theperforming arts. Various exercises will illustrate the castingprocess and give participants the chance to understand theirtype and emphasize the importance of con dence whenpresenting themselves under stressful situations.

    Acting Audition: Perfect the art of auditioning. Your groupwill work with a Broadway performer on Cold readings andMonologues and making a good rst impression. Participantswill learn how to con dently walk into an audition, makecreative choices and get the job.

    Meet the Artist*: Spend time with one or twoperformers from the shows you are attending. This 60 minsession will give you a glimpse of the life of those performers,what it is like to perform on Broadway and ask the questions

    youve always wanted to ask!*This session does not take place immediately following the show,

    but can be scheduled at any other time convenient for your group.

    CHARTER MEMBER

    Tour Prices: Call or email for free, no obligation quotations. The cost of all tours are quoted perperson, based on group size and the customized features of your tour. Tour prices will be affectedby choice of hotel and the mode of transportation selected. Quoted prices are accurate during theeffective dates of this brochure as long as availability of the tour elements exist.

    Booking: Inform your Gerber Tours Account Rep that you are ready to book and we will provide you with promotional materials ( including posters, parent brochures and registration forms) and a TourAgreement. To con rm your reservations Gerber Tours must receive the non-refundable bookingdeposit per person, completed registration forms for all part icipants and a signed Tour Agreement bythe date indicated in your Agreement (usually 30 days from the date you received the materials).

    Deposits and Cancellations: The Tour Agreement will provide you with a schedule for whenadditional deposits are due in our of ce. Additional deposits are fully refundable up to 60 daysprior to departure except for any amounts paid to suppliers to con rm your groups reservations.Cancellations occurring within 60-15 days of departure will be assessed late cancellation fees of20% of the Tour Cost, the non-refundable booking deposit as speci ed in your Tour Agreementand any amounts paid to suppliers to con rm your reservations. All such cancellation charges areliquidated damages and not a penalty. Cancellations occurring within 14 days of departure willreceive no refunds.

    Final Payment: Final Payment and your rooming list are due in our of ce 60 days prior todeparture date. Upon their receipt, nal documents will be processed and then forwardedapproximately 7-14 days ahead of departure. Late payments will be assessed penalty fees.

    Insurance Protection: Gerber Tours provides Primary Medical Insurance coverage for Accident,Dental Injury or Illness for all tour participants during travel - terms and conditions apply. We alsomaintain a comprehensive Tour Operator Professional Liability, Errors and Omissions Policy whichcovers all schools, school districts and their employees.
