the most advanced equipment. As a swimmer you should demand the best

possible wetsuit. Quintana Roo wetsuits are handcrafted in the U.S.A with the

most technically advanced materials and designs. Additionally, our wetsuits

come in more sizes than any other brand on the market, all of this to propel you

through the swim leg faster.

As a cyclist, you know that the characteristics and quality of your bike

can make a tremendous difference in ride quality and speed. We create bikes

with wind mocking aerodynamics, state of the art components, triathlon specif-

ic geometry and a dedication perfection-driven triathletes can truly appreciate.

Through the years, Quintana Roo has continued to expand and evolve

Let’s get one thing straight, we are a triathlon

company. We don’t have bikes in the Tour de

France, we don’t make mountain bikes and we

don’t make triathlon products as an afterthought.

What we do have is an intense focus on giving you

the best possible equipment to enable you to go

farther and faster that you ever thought possible.

Here at Quintana Roo, triathlon is our

passion. We are the only company devoted to the

entire sport of triathlon. QR began in 1987 by cre-

ating the world’s fi rst triathlon specifi c wetsuit, and

in 1989, pioneered the use of tri-specifi c frame

geometry in our bikes, forever changing what tri-

athletes ride.

Like our athletes, we still haven’t answered exactly how far, how fast or how long we can push ourselves. That’s why we spend each and every day pushing

the limits of materials, design and weight of each bike frame. Quintana Roo bicycles are created specifi cally for triathlons, so it is only appropriate that Quintana

Roo bikes are designed, built and most importantly tested by seasoned triathletes. Tri-specifi c bikes have unique features as compared to a standard road

racing bicycle. Simply bolting on a few triathlon components to a road bike will severely limit one’s performance. That is why we design bikes with a precise

geometry that places riders in a more aerodynamic position by allowing less exposed chest area and a fl atter back. This geometry also creates a more effi cient

pedaling position to help preserve legs for the running leg of the race.

When we begin designing a bike, our engineers are given a blank canvas on which to create. They are not confi ned by material selection or preconceived

notions of what the perfect bike should be. The result: masterpieces like the amazing Ti-Phoon are transformed into reality. In the process of creating the

optimum triathlon ride, our designers also give great consideration to developing bikes that are able to take full advantage of the latest tri-specifi c components

such as aero bars, forks, and wheels. Through the intelligent use of tube shapes and materials, all of out frames are designed to have enhanced aerodynamic

properties and a comfortable ride, because we understand that a harsh ride amplifi es fatigue. Quintana Roo bicycles create perfect harmony between frame,

componentry and triathlete. Since our fi rst tri-specifi c bike was created in 1989, there have been 28 Ironman titles, numerous world and national champion-

ships and endless regional and local victories achieved on Quintana Roo bikes. The result of our evolution and winning achievements is the most trusted line

of triathlon specifi c bikes on the course.

The technically advanced Ti-Phoon will blow away your expectations and your competition, unless of course they are riding a

Ti-Phoon as well. In that case, you’re on your own. Created with custom aero-shaped 6AL/4V titanium tubing, the race proven

Ti-Phoon takes its riders to podium positions all over the world. Minimal drag is achieved though the sophisticated wing

shaped aero tubes, the sleek internal cable routing and the clever rear entry dropouts, which allow the rear wheel

to tuck in tight to the seat tube (700c

only). Out of the box, the Ti-Phoon

is ready for race day with its perfect

compliment of components.

Minimal drag and awesome pedaling effi ciency are guaranteed through the

combination of the custom shaped 6AL / 4V titanium front triangle and the

bladed 3AL /2.5V titanium seat stays.

Wind shear is negated with QR’s sleek rear entry dropouts that tuck the

rear wheel close behind the seat tube.

Newly enhanced internal cable routing, aerodynamic seat tube and

seatpost increase the already phenomenal aerodynamic properties of the

2006 Ti-Phoon.

The Quintana Roo Caliente is one incredibly fast bike that we could have just named “hot”, but using the Spanish translation just

made it sound even more intense. After you see the Caliente’s incredible new paint scheme, witness the frame shaping inspired

by the Lucero, feel its blazing performance and burn through your PR’s, we think you’ll see that it lives up to its name no

matter the language. System integration of carbon aero seatpost and Real Design Aero HP fork only boosts the

Caliente’s resume. The Caliente’s new

At Quintana Roo, our history with triathlon runs deep. Our founder, Dan Empfi eld, competed in the very fi rst Ironman held on Kona in 1981, and in 1987 went

on to create the world’s very fi rst wetsuits made especially for triathletes. Quintana Roo’s dedication to providing the sport with the highest quality triathlon

specifi c equipment continues into the present with our high performance line of QR wetsuits manufactured here in the United States.

Today we use only the most advanced materials and manufacturing techniques available to painstakingly hand craft our complete line of wetsuits. Neoprenes

such as SCS Nanoskin, SCS Sharkskin and Hyperfl ex rubber are just a few of the patented material technologies utilized throughout the 2006 wetsuit line.

In 2005 Quintana Roo went back to the drawing board and re-engineered every pattern on every suit to further improve on the anatomic fi t and hydrophobic

quality of all our wetsuits. Through our athlete feedback and rigourous re-design process we are totally confi dent in the performance and quality of each wet-

suit made available to you. Once the goal of optimum speed, warmth and comfort was achieved, it became essential to make sure that you are able to get

out of our suits as quickly as possible. That’s why we proudly boast that each wetsuit style, from Superfull to Quickjohn, comes with breakaway zippers and

our easy exit ankle cut. The result of all this innovation: well, it kind of speaks for itself. Our wetsuits have won more Ironman events worldwide than any other

triathlon wetsuit on the market today.

Can QR Wetsuits be repaired? The QR wetsuits can indeed be repaired by our staff and also by you. Should the issue be larger please contact us at 877.874.7848 and we will get you a return authorization number and have you post that suit to our California facility. Depending on volume and the time of year, this can take anywhere from 1 to 3 weeks. For minor cuts and problems it is actually best and most time effi cient to utilize the wetsuit repair kit we offer and handle the repair yourself. The wetsuit repair kit has everything you need to handle smaller cosmetic repairs and you can order it either from select QR dealers or straight from us via the rooworld.com website.

Can I shorten the legs of my wetsuit? You’ll fi nd that the speedcut lower legs of QR suits make entry and exit a breeze. To decrease suit exit time, you can trim the lower leg to enlarge the opening, but be sure to mark the intended length with chalk before cutting and use seam tape (available in the QR Wetsuit Care Kit p.27) to complete the alteration.

How do I prevent chafi ng? Chafi ng is diffi cult to predict and some individuals are more susceptible than others. Chafi ng is caused by clothing, wetsuits and skin against skin. When skin is wet, it is generally less resistant to abrasion. Among the common causes of chafi ng are salty, silty or sandy water, rough or choppy waters requiring swimming with the head above water and unilateral breathing. Application of Body Glide in troublesome areas will go a long way towards reducing chafi ng. For severe problems wit chafi ng at the neck, a Lycra shirt called a rash guard can be worn under the wetsuit to prevent neck and armpit chafi ng. Surfers who spend more than 3 hours in saltwater generally wear rash guards. Rash guards can be purchased at surf shops and mail order suppliers.

How do I take care of my Wetsuit between races? Between races or for short periods of time, the wetsuit can be hung, inside out on a padded hanger. For periods longer than a week or two the wetsuit should be cleaned inside and out, folded in half or in thirds and stored in a dry place. Crumpling your wetsuit in the bottom of a race bag will severely reduce its life and performance.

Will chlorine damage my wetsuit? It is OK to swim in a pool during training, but the suit must be rinsed out with cool fresh water immediately after you swim and then hung to dry. Remember, however, that chlorine and sunlight are very tough on rubber products and extensive use in chlorinated waters may damage it. All QR wetsuits will hold up well with bi-weekly use of wetsuit shampoo and diligent after-swim care.

Can I use my wetsuit for other activities? QR wetsuits are made for surface swimming only. All QR neoprenes are designed to be fl exible and water tight. These smooth-skin rubbers are relatively fragile and are not abrasion resistant. Straddling a surfboard or sitting in a kayak or canoe will stress the seams and break down the neoprene. Free diving in the suit will not damage the suit, but Scuba equipment could cause chafi ng and tearing.

Can I use other wetsuits for Triathlons? QR wetsuits are designed to be warm, comfortable and most of all, FAST. Wetsuits designed for uses other than surface swimming will be heavier, slower, more water absorbent and generally more cumbersome. As a triathlete, you train hard so don’t let your equipment slow you down on race day.

Wetsuit Fitting Info

At Quintana Roo, we pride ourselves in creating the perfect suit for all individuals. Quintana Roo’s trademarked fi t and feel is due in part to our large range of sizes for both men and women. In choosing a wetsuit, please refer to the sizing chart on this page. If your body type falls into two different size parameters, choose the smallest size that is comfortable. And remember: an uncomfortably snug fi t will restrict movement and slow your swim. Please take all sizing components into account when purchasing a QR suit. For example, if you are near the end of the weight range of a given suit, but shorter, you will probably need the LARGER suit for a comfortable fi t through the torso. Due to very stretchy material used in the Superfull, we advise to pick a size smaller than the chart indicates when purchasing a Superfull.

H o w W e M e a s u r e Q R B i k e sAll of our triathlon frames are measured in centimeters, but beware, do not try to fi nd that 53cm or 59cm frame size measurement on the frame. Our head tubes are shorter than on traditional road bikes to allow for a more aerodynamic fi t, this also lowers our actual center to center seat tube length. The easiest way to compare frame sizes is to look at the top tube length measurements. We measure them on all our bikes from the intersection of the center line of the top tube and the center line of the seat tube, parallel to ground to the intersection with the steering axis center line. Frame geometry utilizes the following fork lengths measured from the axle center to the crown race seat: 650c frames: 341mm fork, 700c frames: 369mm fork.
