12 Wherefore I will not be negligent to put you always in remembranceremembrance of these things, though ye knowknow them, and be establishedestablished in the present Truth.

13 Yea, I think it meet, as long as I am in this tabernacle, to stir you upstir you up by putting you in remembranceremembrance; 14 Knowing that shortly I must put off this my tabernacle, even as our Lord Jesus Christ hath shewed me. 15 Moreover I will endeavorendeavor that ye may be able after my decease to have these things always in remembranceremembrance.

16 For we have notnot followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the Power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesseseyewitnesses of His Majesty. 17 For He received from God the Father Honor and Glory, when there came such a Voice to Him from the excellent glory, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased." 18 And this Voice, which came from Heaven, we heard, when we were with Himwith Him in the holy mountholy mount.

God is the Perfect FatherPerfect Father; we can follow His example with our childrenwith our children.

3 And HIS raiment became shining, exceeding white as snow; so as no fuller on earth can white them. 4 And there appeared unto them EliasElias with MosesMoses: and they were talking with Jesustalking with Jesus. 5 And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias. 6 For he wist not what to sayhe wist not what to say; for they were sore afraid.

7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a Voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is MY beloved Son: hear Him. 8 And suddenly, when they had looked round about, they saw no man any more, save Jesus only with themselves.

6

Peter, James, and John saw Jesus as He is nowHe is now as He sits on the Right Hand of God,

And as He will beHe will be when He returns to receive usreceive us unto Himself, to be forever with Him.

Jesus was just having a conversation with Moses and Elijah.

7

Peter, James, and John were bystandersbystanders in this situation, observingobserving, but having no part.

They were all scared out of their wits.

Some people, when they get nervous or scared, start talking fast and saying nothing.

7 And there was a cloud that overshadowed them: and a Voice came out of the cloud, saying, This is MY beloved Son: hear Him. [Matt, Luke, Peter (well pleased)]

It was time to hush talkinghush talking and listenlisten.

Jesus had been tellingbeen telling His disciples of His coming sufferingsuffering and deathdeath.

It wasn't timewasn't time for the Kingdom of God to enter its fullness.

It wasn't time for Jesus' glorificationJesus' glorification.

It was a foretaste of things to come!

9

It made Peter an eyewitnesseyewitness of the things he wrote about in this letter to the churches.

It gave him added authorityauthority in his teaching.

16 For we have notnot followed cunningly devised fables, when we made known unto you the Power and coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, but were eyewitnesseseyewitnesses of His Majesty.

Peter saw and heard, believed and taught.

10

John 20 29 Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen Me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed.

Ours is the greater blessing!

19 We have also a more sure Word of Prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heedye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts: 20 Knowing this first, that no Prophecy of the Scripture is of any private interpretationprivate interpretation. 21 For the prophecy came not in old time by the will of man: but holy men of God spake as they wereas they were moved by moved by the Holy Ghostthe Holy Ghost.

11

Peter gave an eyewitness account and that was good,

But the ScripturesScriptures are even more suremore sure.
