Dull blades shred the tops of the grass and expose the turf's tissue for lawn disease spores to easily enter. Mowing with a dull blade is shown to increase disease activity by 20% or more and uses more fuel than a sharp blade. To avoid this, have your blades sharpened several times a season. CLEAN THE UNDERSIDE OF THE DECK. Grass will stick to the underside of the deck. Use extra caution when performing this task and follow the manufacturer’s recommendations for accessing the underside of the deck. If nothing else, be sure to disconnect the spark plug wire.
