Transient Center Appraiser OKd

Employment of an appraiser to set a price for the County Transient Center, Carroll and Wells, was approved yesterday by the Board of Supervisors.

The state has offered $200,000 for the property which it will ac­quire for an interchange on the Niagara Thruway. The county stopped using the building to house transients in October.

The resolution to hire an ap­praiser was introduced by Su­pervisor Richard T. Cooke of Al-den, chairman of the Land & Tax Committee. It set $600 as the maximum pay for the work.

The Board also voted to lease space at 379 and 510 Washing­ton St. to store records which have been kept on the upper floors of the Transient Center.

It also approved the destruc­tion of old welfare records also stored in the building. The rec­ords have all been inactive since Jan. 1, 1943.
