We are experiencing a tumultuous and challenging time in history which won't soon be forgotten. This is not the first time we have had to conquer a seemingly insurmountable enemy. Working in harmony with each other builds a bond of community and makes us all stronger. While we are understandably stressed and yes, even fearful, we must remain hopeful and positive. The comfort and pleasure of being with friends and loved ones and the joy we feel from experiencing music, laughter and beauty in art is healing in itself. Our little theater has become a vibrant part of the Northwoods' community and must continue to entertain, enlighten and educate. We must rely on one another to keep TLCFA strong while providing a positive impact on all those around us and the community itself. The schedule has been cut short by necessity but our volunteers and small employee force will still be working hard to hopefully provide fabulous concerts, programs and films, free gallery shows, an art fair (hopefully!) and more. We have been blessed with numerous generous donations to repair our roof and, while we have yet to meet our goal, we hope this project can be completed soon. As of mid-March, non-profits lost an estimated 201 million due to canceled or postponed events. Nationally, that figure is over 4.8 billion. Art is not a frill, dear friends! It makes us human and brings us joy and we must never let anything steal our joy See you at the theater! TLCFA, P.O. Box 126, Three Lakes, WI. 54562

“Michael Murphy and the “MOB”

Original mix with influences of Memphis & Chicago Blues

“Big Dog” Murphy, so called because of his large stature and gravelly, growling voice, not unlike Tom Waits, was raised in the heat and fervor of a southern

Baptist environment and sings with all the emotion of an old time “tent revival” preacher. His haunting, soulful

vocals are full of fire, whether they are familiar songs or “Big Dog” originals. His trio, The MOB (Men of Blues) are his best friends who have played with him for years and are tight but delightfully spontaneous. Get a good

seat cause you won't want to leave ‘til the music is done! Hear their music at bigdogmurphy.com

Celebrating their 45th anniversary in 2020, Special Consensus has achieved a contemporary

sound which makes them a modern classic. They are grounded in a deep appreciation of

bluegrass music and they follow their creative desires without straying too far from their roots.

Greg Cahill (banjo), Rick Faris (guitar), Nate Burie (mandolin) and Dan Eubanks (bass) effortlessly support each other, whether they are playing a

jazz tinged instrumental or a John Denver tribute.

Special C has received five awards from the International Bluegrass Music Association and two Grammy

nominations. Their continued success is a testament to their adaptability and contemporary appeal.

Hailing from Silver City, NC, Nu- Blu's heart and soul are husband and wife, Daniel and Carolyn Routh.

Her golden voice goes easily from tender lullaby to thundering freight train. The backbone of the band is

Daniel, multi instrumentalist and vocalist. The quartet’s warm, layered American roots sound is rounded out by

Austin Hefflefinger on banjo and Justin Harrison on fiddle/mandolin. Building to a full country sound, they deliver upbeat, blazing finger pick work just

as well as gentle heart warming ballads. If you have enjoyed Monroe Crossing's appearances

Award -winning documentary filmmaker Chip Duncan returns for the 8th straight summer and this time he's bringing along two new projects for first time screenings. “Pizza & Prana” is a documentary short film that looks at groundbreaking new work being done to introduce yoga therapy to a Miami based ALS patient.

And, as you guessed it, to very positive results. Duncan will also screen clips from his four-part documentary series “Magnificent Madness” that looks at Tazio Nuvolari and his historic competition as a race car driver during the 1930s in Italy. Duncan says, “Trust me. You'll like it! Filming was completed in Northern Italy, Argentina, and, not kidding, Three Lakes, WI!” Discussion will follow the films. This is the Wisconsin guy known for his “quilted pleather” piano. It's unique to watch someone assemble a grand piano on stage but that's not where the special

qualities end for Lux. He is a real showman, a truly incredible raw talent and a guy who will stretch

himself to his limits to please his audience. Lux is a singer/songwriter with a rich and powerful baritone voice. His bluesy, rock n' roll riffs bring an original sound to the Elton John and Billy Joel songs

he favors, along with his own creations. The band has amazing energy and will not disappoint!

“Siegel and Sabien” Weaving jazz, blues, classical, rock, & funk!

TLCFA is thrilled to bring you the collaboration of two geniuses and an evening to remember! Corky Siegel is known internationally as one of the world's great blues harmonica players, blues pianist, singer-songwriter and

the sole pioneer of award winning works that weave blues and classical forms together. He is co-founder of

the Siegel-Schwall Band, a Chicago Blues Hall of Fame inductee and Lifetime Achievement awardee.

For Randy Sabien, the term jazz violin is just the name of the musical genre where his recordings are found. If

you listen closely to Sabien, you'll hear what has marked classical violin playing since the work of Bach.

But it doesn't end there. In addition he is a fine pianist, guitarist, singer and composer as well!

The icing on this rich and delicious cake is the fact that they are both educators who devote precious time to

musically inspired youth.

Returning to TLCFA for their 2nd concert, The Whispering Tree crafts richly immersive folk-rock

brimming with evocative lyrics, nature imagery, perspectives from travel and a musicality encompassing folk,

Indie rock, classic rock, some 60's pop and rock n' roll. After meeting in music school in London, they played in bands but found freedom as a duo, re-imagining tunes as

harmony driven folk/rock songs, with influences of Gypsy Jazz, bluegrass and even 60s protest songs.

After much acclaim and well-received international tours, they went through a creative and spiritual lull. Moving to

New York's pastoral Hudson Valley, Kleiner and Brangbour did a lot of writing and were recharged by the creative

process. Eleanor says “ I've felt compelled to release these songs and can't wait to share this music.” Elie adds “ This is the closest we've gotten to our ideal vision

for The Whispering Tree.”

With a name like “Beehner” he had to become a comedian for self preservation! Johnny was born in

Omaha, Nebraska but has a connection to Wisconsin. He went to Marquette University, married a Milwaukee

native and now calls Madison home. He made his debut in 2015 as one of the last comics to appear on the Late Show with David Letterman. He has

made numerous appearances on Fox's “Laughs” TV Show, appeared on Gotham Comedy Live and is a regular on the nationally syndicated “Bob and Tom

Show” on XM/Sirius satellite radio. He bases much of his comedy on being a husband and a

dad. “I wouldn't say clean comedy is better than not clean comedy or that it's automatically smarter,” he

explained. “I would say it's more challenging to come up with because I think it's easier to get a laugh with

profanity.” Tickets ~ Adults- $20; Under 13- $5

and nationally and presented clinics at such prestigious institutions as The Julliard School, the

American record guide reviewer Barry Kilpatrick writes: “The WBQ is a remarkable ensemble that

plays with more reckless abandon, warmth, stylistic variety and interpretive interest than almost any

quintet in memory!”

Performing tonight will be: Jean Laurenz, Gilson Da Silva, Daniel Grabois, Mark Hetzler and

Tom Curry.
