If a supervisor needs to activate a change or a new project, he should strive to lead the subordinates into thinking it was their idea. 5. The most effective type of worker motivation is that which is internal. 6. In general, workers are most productive when they identify with their work and the work community. 7. Failing supervisors are usually aware of their weaknesses. 8. The more effective supervisors believe in and trust their subordinates more than do the less effective ones. 9. Workers rarely exceed the expectations of their supervisors. 10.The most successful supervisors make clear and specific and in detail what they want done and then follow-up closely and constantly to see that it is done. 11.When a supervisor becomes defensive he demonstrates a weakness of leadership. 12.The most successful supervisors ‘productivity-centered’ rather than people-centered’. 13.General supervision is usually better than close or tight supervision. 14.Anxiety generates anxiety. 15.Authority is socially isolating. 16.Finding out how workers feel about their work is fairly simple. 17.Listening to a worker serves no purpose unless the supervisor agrees with him. 18.A majority of workers fail in their jobs because of luck of knowledge and skill. 19.If a worker starts to complain about his job, the first thing the executive should do is to try to reason with him. 20.Job pride is an emotional experience. 21.We all have unconscious motivations. 22.Control tends to generate conflict. 23.Acceptance of a common objective minimizes conflict. 24.If workers are well paid and have good working conditions, high productivity will prevail. 25.Organizational conflict is most prevalent among coordinates or equals. 26.It is impossible for a supervisor to achieve any thing beyond the limits of his authority. 27.The majority of workers today want’ more and more’ for ‘less and less’. 28.‘Self- preservation is the first law of nature’. 29.‘Familiarity breeds contempt’. 30.Supervising leadership cannot be acquired. The conference leader should summarize the discussion- agreements, differences, etc.
