    The number of vacancies available under Recruiting Unit wise, isfurnished as under:

    3. Eligibility Criteria: -

    As per the Recruitment Rules notified in GSR 411 (E) dated 21.05.2015,the following categories of official(s) are eligible to appear in the examination:

    (i) Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) in the Pay Band I of Rs. 5200-20200+Grade Pay of Rs.1800/ - (pre-revised) of the concerned Unit with five yearsregular service in the Grade including any regular service put in the erstwhileGroup 'D' post on regular basis (for CO/Ra including RLO).

    (ii) Despatch Rider in the Pay Band-I of Rs. 5200-20200+ Grade Pay of Rs.1900/ - (pre-revised) of the concerned Unit/Division with five years of regularservice in the Grade including any regular service put in the erstwhile GroupID' post on regular basis (for Foreign Post).

    (iii) Multi Tasking Staff (MTS) in the Pay Band I of Rs. 5200-20200+Grade Pay of Rs. 1800/ - (pre-revised) of the concerned Unit with five years ofregular service in the Grade including any regular service put in the erstwhileGroup ID' post on regular basis (for foreign post).

    Note: The vacancy year has been changed from financial year as provided inthe Recruitment Rules to Calendar Year in terms of DoP&T OM No.22011/4/2013-Estt (D) dated 08.05.2017and Department of Posts D.O. letterno. 137-15/2014-SPB-ll dated 7 July 2017 and hence the crucial date forreckoning the minimum regular service is 01.01.2020.

    4. Pattern & Syllabus of Examination:

    The examination will be conducted as per the revised pattern andsyllabus circulated by Directorate vide letter No. 17-08/2018-SPB-I dated10.05.2019under Annexure -C which shall be read with letter No. 17-08/2018-SPB-I dated 20.06.2019, 26.06.2019, 28.06.2019, '11.07.2019, 23.07.2019,11.12.2019and letter no. 17-08/2018-SPB-I (Pt) dated 10.06.2019,enclosed asAnnexure-H.

  • Note: The 'Skill test of data entry' will be conducted subsequently.

    5. Centres of Examination:

    The examination will be conducted at Circle/Regional Head Quarters.The APS candidates have to appear for the examination from the RegionalCentre, to which they belong. The Regional Offices will nominate CentreSupervisors under their control to conduct the examination in their RegionalHeadquarters under intimation to CO and the nominated officer will conductthe examination under their supervision at Circle/Regional headquarters asper the schedule. The Centre Supervisor nominated by the CirclefRegionOffice will select venue for the examination and will intimate to DivisionalHeads before the schedule date for issue of Admit CardjHall Permit. Underno circumstances, the candidates will be permitted to appear from otherCircle Centres.

    6. The application of candidates on deputation to APS should be sent tothe respective CO/RO.

    7. All the Controlling Authorities are .directed for giving widepublicity to this Circular for inviting the Applications from eligiblecandidates in prescribed form (Annexure - I). The Controlling Authoritieshave to scrutinize the details furnished in the Applications submitted by thecandidates, thoroughly with reference to Name, Date of entry into service,Date of Birth, category/community, eligibility criteria etc with reference tothe relevant recruitment rules and service records of the concerned candidate.

    8. The Controlling Authorities are requested to start the activity as per thenotified schedule immediately. The schedule should be adhered to strictly.

    9. The Controlling Authorities are requested to intimate the number ofapplications received to the concerned Regional Office by 03.12.2020and theRegional Offices are requested to send particulars of the candidates in theprescribed proforma (Annexure -Ill) duly filled in excel sheet to the CircleOffice through e-mail id: [email protected] by 07.12.2020positively for allotment of Hall Permit Roll Numbers. In case of any disputein permitting any candidate to appear in the examination, the same will besettled by the concerned controlling authority. The Circle Office/RegionalOfficewill issue the Hall Permits to the candidates on 14.12.2020.

    10. The application received after prescribed closing date will not beentertained under any circumstances.

  • (a) The examination will be conducted by Centre Supervisors strictly inaccordance with the rules and regulations as contained in appendix-37of P& T Manual Vol. IV.

    (b) At the conclusion of the examination the Centre Supervisorsconcerned will arrange to send the following reports/ documents to theundersigned immediately for further action.

    (i) Statement of candidates permitted to appear the examination andattended the examination.

    (ii) Necessary certificate of the Centre Supervisor and the invigilators(iii)Diagram of the sitting arrangement in the examination halL

    The time schedule stated in the schedule of activity may kindly bestrictly adhered to.

    12. This notification may be given wide publicity amongst all eligiblecandidates working in CO/R.O (including RLO)/Foreign Post.

  • 2. The Competent Authority has approved to revise the Pattern, Syllabusand Qualifying marks of Paper-III, viz. Data Entry Skill Test (DEST), in case ofexaminations conducted for appointment to the posts of Postman, Mail Guard,Postal Assistant and Sorting Assistant.     4. The revised Pattern, Syllabus and Quaiifying marks mentioned aboveshall be applicable only in the examinations conducted during June-2019 toNovember, 2019. After assessing the results of DEST on the basis of aforesaidrevised pattern, syllabus and quali$,ing marks, further review will be done.
