Van Horn Dodge provided aid to the Plymouth Ambulance Service with a much needed vehicle
upgrade. Van Horn Automotive Group has donated a 2007 Dodge Durango to the Plymouth Ambulance
Service which provided pre-hospital paramedic care servicing the northwestern section of Sheboygan
County area which covers 244 square miles, including the City of Plymouth, Townships of Greenbush,
Lyndon, Mitchell, and Plymouth, Villages of Cascade, Elkhart Lake, Greenbush, Glenbeulah, and Waldo.
They also service portions of the Townships of Herman, Lima, Rhine, Russell, and Sheboygan Falls.
When Brian Goelzer, of the Plymouth Ambulance Service can into the Van Horn Dodge showroom
back in September, he knew two things, the Ambulance Service didn’t have much to spend and their
incident response vehicle, a 1999 Chevrolet Suburban, wouldn't last much longer. After discussing details
of the deal with Brian, Bob O’Connor, a Van Horn Dodge sales expert, spoke with senior management
about what the company might be able to do to help the ambulance service. Recognizing the importance
of the ambulance service not only to Plymouth but the surrounding rural communities, the automotive
group is providing a no-charge lease of the 2007 Durango for three years. This vehicle upgrade, to the
Flex-Fuel equipped Durango, will assist emergency medical services personnel to continue their services
while providing a fuel cost savings.
The Van Horn Automotive, a family owned and operated dealer group, has been serving the
Wisconsin area for over 50 years! As an upstanding member of the Wisconsin business community, we
are active participants in local charities, events, and activities. Our family values carry over into all we do,
and we eagerly engage ourselves in opportunities to use our resources to enhance and aid the lives of
others, our assistance to Plymouth Ambulance Service is one more example of this commitment. To see
Van Horn’s stewardship of community in action check out our blog!

Dodge has been planning a new compact sedan for some time, but on
December 6 there was official confirmation — and a name!
The 2013 Dodge Dart will debut Jan. 9, 2012 at the Detroit Auto Show. It is
reported that the compact sedan will replace the Dodge Caliber hatchback, which
will be discontinued after the 2012 model year, as their entry-level offering.
The Dart will offer three engine/transmission types including a 1.4 liter turbo
as well as the existing 2.0 and 2.4 liter four-cylinder engines and Chrysler has stated
that at least one version of the vehicle will achieve up to 40 mpg on the highway.
The vehicle features an exterior look that does a surprisingly good job at downsizing
attributes from the Challenger & Charger, such as full-length LED tail lamp and a
split-crosshair grille up front. We are anxiously awaiting this arrival!
The 2012 models are now coming in at Van Horn Dodge, Chrysler, Jeep, and
Ram! The entire Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, and Ram line up has been redone with
many wonderful upgrades inside and out.
Please stop in and see one of our sales experts to get more information on the
entire 2012 line up.

Is your vehicle ready for winter?
“Oh the weather outside is frightful. . .” You know the tune! Yes winter is upon us, and with it comes winter driving. While safety is an important consideration all year long, there are some auto maintenance and safety checks — specific to chilled air and winter driving — that are a good idea to check before we're knee deep in the season. To be sure you don't end up a road popsicle, or even worse end up with your holiday budget on ice thanks to unexpected repairs, have a look under the hood to be sure things are ship shape. These winter maintenance jobs will keep you out of trouble:
Check your antifreeze. Your antifreeze is
an essential part of your car's winter
protection. Your car contains a 50/50 mix of
water and antifreeze. Make sure the level is
full and the mixture is close to 50/50. This
ensures protection to at least –35°
Inspect your tires. The last line of defense
between you and an oak tree are your tires.
Winter is not the time to ignore your tires, so
take the time to check the tread depth. The
National Highway Transportation Safety
Board says you need at least 2/32" of depth to
be legal. For winter use, we recommend
replacing the tires when the tread wears to
5/32” . The old penny test is as reliable as
anything to find out whether your treads are
ready for winter action. Also, be sure to check
your tire pressure. Believe it or not, they lose
a little pressure when it gets cold (about 1lb
for every 10° drop), so pump 'em up.
Seasonal temperature drops may also cause
check tire pressure light to come on as well.
Replace your wipers and check washer fluid. It takes wipers that are in top shape to keep your windshield clean and safe. And you'll be using lots of washer fluid as you try to keep your windshield sparkly. A mile stuck behind an 18-wheeler will have your windshield looking like a Desert Humvee if
you're low on washer fluid.
These tips will give you the upper hand when Old Man Winter tries to put a chill on your winter travels. Cold weather safety should be a concern for anybody living in a cold climate. So be safe this winter, plan ahead and let us inspect your vehicle to see if it’s up for the challenge. Call today to schedule a Winter Care maintenance appointment and don’t forget to mention the coupon below!
