“TEAM NEMESIS”

Siddharth Mishra Ashish Pandita Hardik Shah Nishad Patil

Our Goal

BLUE PRINT FOR ENERGY SECURE INDIA

Better Energy policies Research and development

Better framing and implementation of laws

Increased technical know-howIncreases automation

Explore the unexplored Tap the proven

Increased production

Sufficient energy

Efficient use of energy

Unconventional resources

BLUE PRINT FOR ENERGY SECURE INDIA

Technical Advancements required: -

Developing marginal fields (pilot fields for R&D) Understand our pools of black gold like never before, by better reservoir

characterization techniques. Adoption of new & effective proven technologies for enhancing oil-gas

recovery & extraction of unconventional resources Unlocking new reserves using modern exploration techniques (EM seismic) Alternative resources

– Tapping shale, solar, wind, ocean and other renewable form of energy Increasing the reserve by Geological modelling, improved subsurface imaging,

directional drilling, data acquisition and simulation Improving the recovery factor by improving efficiency of water flooding,

microbial EOR, carbon capture and sequestration Extraction of heavy oil by In-situ combustion, steam injection

Government’s role to boost domestic exploration of O&G

Alignment of energy policy to those of Norway & Brazil

A regulation against the upholding of speculative seismic data

Increase the % share of R&D for Energy sector in Fiscal budget

Need for a paradigm shift

Increasing the costing of carbon credits to generate more revenue if taxation is loosen up

Establish high-tech R&D institutes and specially devoted research centers like those in US

Well defined subsidization to reduce excessive burden on PSU and E & P companies

Cross-border interconnections

Conclusions: -

We have it!!!! Only thing we need to do is to prove it & explore it.

Learn from the examples set by countries like Norway, Nigeria, Brazil etc, their economical

strategies as well as technical field development plans.

Learn from our own example :- ‘Mumbai High started production within two years of

discovery.’

Take quick actions; reduce the huge time lag between exploration & production.

Indian service companies………where are they?

Why so less budget for R&D?

Connect the present to the past, and learn from the past.

Regulatory policy: Too many cooks spoil the broth.

Utilizing unconventional energy with innovative technology can lead us towards “self

sufficiency”.

Remember, challenges are many but the rewards are huge.
