... Bob Livingston W h o has always put us first.

"If you do something for kids and lay down rules they understand, you wont have any problems.

The more rules you have, the worse results you're going to get.

We're dealing with kids at the very worst time in their lives.

They aren't cute and cuddly any more and we're asking them to grow up.

Kids will come to you with problems and complaints, but they never whine.

They're looking for assistance. They keep you young. Kids are wonderful."

    There is no death

in standing upon the sea shore. A ship my side spreads his white sails to the irning breeze and starts for the blue zan. He is an object of strength and auty and I stand and watch him until 'length he hangs like a speck of white \udjust where the sea and sky come to ngle with each other.

ten someone at my side says "There, He's gone!" Gone from my hi, that is all. He is as large in mast and hull and spar as he was ben he left my side, and he is just as able to bear his load of living tight to his destined port.

diminished size is in me, not in him. And just at that moment n someone at my side says, "There! He's gone!" There are other

s watching him coming, and other voices ready to take up the d shout, "There! He comes!"

Sverre St. John Thanks Mom and Dad for everything you have done for me. I don't think you could have given me a better opportunity then Proctor. It has been a wonderful three years and you have supported me in good times and bad. M o m and dad I love you both so much. Beth: you're the greatest, thanks. Cutler: it's bad. Phillips Park V^^4 ^ At Proctor, the first American kid I had a conversation with was Bruce Lane. 1 M y first American friend was Ezra Whitman. M y first American best friend I was John Kiaer. M y first American roommate was Zach Johnson. M y first j American teacher I had a great argument about school issues with was Derek Mansell. M y first American teacher who made me nervous was Nelson Lebo. j M y first American teacher w h o m I could depend on was Yunus Peer becauseH hair was most like mine in color. M y first American English teacher whom I I had a different feeling about was Chris Noll. M y first American teacher who I really cared for me was Dave Pilla. M y first American teacher w h o m both rnyH m o m and I liked was Tara Miesenheimer {I had never seen her get mad. I ream wanted to give lots of respect to her.) who was m y art teacher in my sophomoM year. N o w I have to say goodbye to everyone.

N o w it is M a y 31st, 1997. M y high graduation is scheduled at 11:00 o'clock. H ask myself: " A m I really getting out of this school? A m I really going to college?" I'm not sure yet. 1 see m y graduation cap and gown hanging on the board, and m y black samsonite bags which remind m e I am no longer to stay here anymore. After the graduation, I drag down m y stuff, leaving my room whose voice says, "Do not leave without me!" I will miss this place.

Each year I aged at Proctor. I could hardly believe myself to be a sophomore, I junior or senior. Sometimes I thought that I was still a sophomore, and I still I saw my friends who are currentlyjuniors as freshmen. M y early memory and spirit as a young Korean sophomore kid in Proctor would endure.

I journeyed 6804 miles to come to America, to study abroad, living far away from my family, friends, all traces of home. "Why must I go to school in America? W h y can't I just go to school in Korea?" The fact that schools in j Korea were bad was true. What different things did an American school give I me? Well, it taught me to be self-sufficient, confident, reliant, responsible... I And applying these qualities, I would understand and raise myself as my first goal. "First goal? W h a t do you mean by first goal?" I had lots of goals that I j expected to achieve. M y next goals arc to get degrees, be-the world's best 1 architect, marry my girlfriend w h o m I have known since I was in 8th grade, I hahaha..., earn billions of dollars, and enjoy m y whole fantastic life. Then I w call all the friends ever I have had, starting from age one, and have a huge I "kimchee" party in m y house.

    As I leave, for all m y friends and all my respectful teachers, I would like to sffl "SEE Y O U IN T H E F U T U R E . " I will really see you...

Well, I guess I worked my butt off because I am now graduating from a boarding school that far surpasses my childhood dreams. Thanks so much for everything that you both have done to support me in my journeys; whether they are to far off places or to places within myself, you guys have both always been there for me. Thanks. Mariann: Life at boarding school has been tough on the both of us, I missed you so much while I was there and I know that you missed me. Lellie Fluke All I ever wanted to know

I learned in kindergarten - Robert Fulghum

"Most of what I really need to know about how to live, and what to do and how to be, I learned in kindergarten. Wisdom was not at the top of the graduate school mountain, but there in the sand box at nursery school.

"These are the things I learned: Share everything. Play fair. Don't hit people. Put things back where you find them. Clean up your own mess. Don't take things that aren't your's. Say you're sorry when you hurt somebody. Wash your hands before you cat. Flush. Warm cookies and cold milk are good for you. Live a balanced life. Learn some things and draw and paint and sing and dance and play and work some every day.

"Take a nap every afternoon. When you go out into the world, watch for traffic, hold hands and stick together. Be aware of wonder. Remember the little seed in the plastic cup. The roots go down and plant goes up and nobody really knows how or why, but wc are like that.

"Goldfish and hamsters and white mice and even the little seed in the plastic cup they all die. So do we.

"And remember the book about Dick and Jane and the first word vou learned, the biggest word of all: Look

"Everything you need to know is somewhere. The Golden Rule and love and basic sanitation, ecology and politics and sane living.

"Think of what a better world it would be if we all the whole world had cookies and milk about 3 o'clock every afternoon and then lay down with our blankets for a nap. Or if we had a basic policy in are nation and other nations to always put things back where we found them and cleaned up after our own messes.

"And it is still true, no matter how old you arc, when you go out into the world, it is best to hold hands and stick together."
