so CLOSE TO US, YET SO FAR AWAY . . .
Matthew Kohler was everyone's friend. He made everyone feel special, whether i t was telUng jokes about everything, rough housing w i t h his friends, or talking to someone about his problems. He had a magic touch when i t came to his friends. However, no matter how
many friends he had, his best friends were his sisters. He w o u l d have moved mountains for them, and
they would have done the same for h i m .
Matthew had a love for music. He played trumpet i n our school band and would practice for hours in his room. He wanted to be first chair i n his Senior year and worked hard so his
goal could be achieved. Matthew also played guitar. He and his friend had even started a garage band that he w o u l d rave about.
Just l ike Matthew, the band is gone but not forgotten.
Matthew loved his family. He wanted to buy a junked car just so he and his father could fix it up together. Any reason he could f ind to do something w i t h his family was a blessing to
him. He and his sisters would go out to lunch together and he would play football i n the backyard w i t h his father. He would do anything for his family.
Sadly, Matthew is gone now. But he is not all gone. His memory lives on i n his friends' and family's hearts. Even though he was only on this Earth for a short time, he left his
impr int on the world-and we who knew h i m are grateful.

September 8,1992 began our years at Madison Hi g h . W i t h four memorable years ahead of us, we appreciated the help of our class sponsors Mrs . Falvo and Mrs . Feldman. We then elected our class officers: Presidenl-Cindy Trevaskis, Vice President-Randy Q u i n n , Secretary-Liz Lazaris, and Troasurer-Stacey Schalrn.
To start off the year, w e had two big fundraisers- a Mor ley Candy Sale and a Hol iday Sale to raise money for our Prom and other occasions we were to sponsor. Spirit Week was a lot of f u n . Even though we d idn ' t w i n the Spir i t Stick, w e were ready for next year. We chose M a r v i n A l k a t i b and Leslie Zalmezak as our Homecoming Freshman Lord and Lady.
Going into our Sophomore year, things were a lot easier for us. First we elected President-Randy Q u i n n , Vice President-Chris Lazaris, Secretary-Tiffany D i l l a r d , and Treasurer Stacey Schalm to represent our class. O u r class sponsors were Mrs . Falvo and Mrs. Feldman.
Spirit Week was back again and everyone w o r k e d hard to show their school spiri t . Again we d idn ' t w i n the Spirit Stick, but we knew our chance to w i n was coming soon. W e chose M a r v i n A l k a t i b and Rachel W i l l i a m s as our Sophomore Duke and Duchess.
For fundraisers, we sponsored a V o l l e y b a l l - A - T h o n w i t h the Student Counc i l and had t w o Car Washes that summer. The highlight that year was w i n n i n g Field Day!
Our Junior year, we k n e w we had many responsibilities and exc i t ing things ahead. This year we elected President-Cindy Trevaskis, Vice President-Chris Lazaris, Secretary-Maria Mies ik , and Treasurer-Stacey Schalm. Our class sponsors were Mrs. Falvo and M r . Moore.
It was also our year to sponsor Homecoming. Everyone w o r k e d hard to decorate W i l k i n s o n M i d d l e School to make Homecoming a memorable event. We chose M a r v i n A l k a t i b and A m a n d a Ayotte as our Junior l^rince and Princess. We came in 2nd place for the Spirit Stick. We k n e w we w o u l d conquer the Spir i t Stick next year! We also w o n Field Day again.
I Fundraisers: we had a Sweetest Day Carnation Sale and a Car Wash d u r i n g the summer.
Finally, our Senior year came upon us. This was the year we a l l had been w a i t i n g for. N o w we were the ones w h o ru led the school! We had Homecoming, College Applicat ions, Spring Break, Prom, and Graduat ion on our minds. We started off the year electing our Class Officers: President-Randy Q u i n n , Vice President-Chris Lazaris, Secretary-Maria Miesik, Treasurer-Stacey Schalm, and His tor ian-Lor i Mies ik . Our r e t u r n i n g sponsors are Mrs . Falvo, Mrs . Feldman, and M r . Moore.
(• I Fundraisers: we had a Sweetest Day Carnation Sale. W e also p lan o n hav ing a Beach T o w e l Sale and M i d n i g h t B o w l i n g for ; the Senior Parents.
For our class themes, we chose:
^ Class Color: M i d n i g h t Blue and Cream
^ Class Flower: White Rose
^ Class Song: "Yesterday" by Boyz M M e n
Class Motto: Even though wo say goodbye and leave behind our many friends, we w i l l remember a l l the good times we shared and the people w h o cared.
w Our last chance to w i n the Spiri t Stick was now upon us. We k n e w we had to w i n this year and everyone set the ir minds to it. By winning the Tug-of-War (4th year i n a row), Penny Toss, H a l l Decorating, and Spiri t Links , we f i n a l l y w o n our w e l l deserved Spirit Stick!
This was also the week we chose our Homecoming Court w h i c h consisted of: Chris Cook, Shaun Wood, M a r v i n A l k a t i b , Todd Greaves, Rachel W i l l i a m s , Amanda Ayotte , Chris Lazaris, and Stephanie Crouch. We then selected our King and Queen-Randy Q u i n n and Cindy Trevaskis.
SENIOR CLASS It is the year 2006, and the CLASS of 96 is
having their 10th Year Reunion. It is being held at
Addison Oaks, 10 years after our Prom at the same
location. With graduation behind us, we were
finally able to see how everyone turned out.
After leaving Madison, many students went to
college in attempt to further their education.
Others got immediate jobs or didn't do anything
at all. As we walk in, the memories begin to come
back to us
The first to approach us is Brian Mathews
babbling something about lifting weights followed
by his famous "YES, YES". On the dance floor,
band members Josh Seifert, Mike Wright, and
Daryl Lanzon are tuning up their instruments.
Already dancing are Los Angeles Laker girls
Lina Eskander and Roz Warthen. We see Mike
Tagai, Dave Sullivan, Mike Geary, Frank
Knebler, and Vince Tumminello drawing up
their plans for Mortal Kombat 21. They
spent so many quarters playing 1-20, that the
owner handed them the company. As the band
starts playing, people begin to mosh. First
out are tire company owner Jason McLellan,
New England Patriots teammates Tony Lingerfelt
and Rob Zivojnovity. Sabrina Truax, Jenny
Stemple, Michelle Henson, and Michelle
Solocinski put their two cents of
shoulder blocks. Enjoying their delicate
cuisine are couples George Schester and
Leslie Zalmezak, who with Jill Buero own
daycare and Bryan Masterson, professional
basketball player for the Toronto Raputures
and Jenny Lalonde, the first girl to out shoot
Ted Nugent. All of a sudden Jason Walker comes
running in screaming that his wife made him buy
that Chevy that broke down outside. Chris
Lazaris, Vice President of the Vice President
Club, and Kelly Southard, animal rights activist,
started their firm specializing in sports and
animal abuse cases. Kellye Shreve, police
officer; Stephanie Crouch, Dallas Cowboys
cheerleader; Amanda Ayotte, secratary; and Liz
Lazaris, who has her own talk show, help Chris
and Kelly run their firm. As we look across the
room, we see Matt Betea, Todd Greaves,
and Chris Cook, members of the heavy metal
group BIO-SLAYER, tell their plans to beauty
salon owners Maria Syacsure, Melissa Wright,
Kathy Darbe, and manicurist Hadil Salmo.
Professional weight lifters Joe Ghazar, Adam
Schumaker, Tom Porterfield, Catalin Cohut,
and Mike Carter put the moves on novelists/
best friends Cindy Trevaskis, Lisa Turner,
and Brandy Chaffin. Party store owners Shaun
Wood and Marvin Alkatib, beeper store owners
Bryan Ferrara and Fadi Savaia, and gunshop
owners Pauline Ciesielski, James Bailey, and
Marc Combs talk about the word on the streets.
Artists Laura Kuecken, Ginger Emond, Sargon
Warda, and Stacey Schultz try to draw a still
shot of Fared Nona dribbling a basketball.
PROPHECY 1996 Just arriving are Lor i and Maria Mies ik .
Maria is now married to a b i l l ionar i re
and she achieves her dream of not having
to work. Lori came back f r o m Florida
where she is a marine biologist and
works w i t h dolphins. Also coming i n
are elementary teacher E r i n Shoumate
and sports agent Randy Q u i n n . A t a
distant table, we see missionary Krista
Fabian, handwrit ing teacher David
Newberg, Noir Leather owner Kr is ty
Marcella, 96.3 DJ Matt Short, and
black belt David Greenlee.
Suddenly, Telway managers M i t c h
Johnson, Mike Nance, Jim Carrol l , and
Gabe Slimmen come r u n n i n g i n , screaming,
and throwing burgers i n an advertising
attempt. First to catch them are Josh
Mills, Gerald Lacey, Laura Lazarov,
Fehcia Pettinato, A n d r e w Pobud, and
Russ Farden, We hear owners ta lk ing
about their successful businesses.
They are Jim W i t h r o w , w h o owns Telway;
guitar shop owners, Ph i l ip Sweeney and
Tony Hayton; karate shop owner H u y V u ;
and camera shop owner, Jenny Matt ia . A m y
Harrison, Andreea Rusinaru, Charlene Mansoor,
and Farrah A r i f can't help staring at Craig
Jackson and Tabby Ballard as they w a l k i n w i t h
style. Buddies Rachel Wi l l i ams , Deanna L y n c h ,
Dianna Lynch, N i k k i H i r t h , and Melissa A l t i z e r
are at the front of the food l ine w i t h
Greg K u h n , George Laura, Steve Barton,
Jon Merchel , and Ryan Duncan.
L imousine drivers Ramy Pauls, Wesam
Yakou and Dan Cracana don't hesitate to
open the doors for Yvonne Paulis, Kasina
M a r t i n , Carolyn Robarge, Shanna Lamb,
Robyn Farden, Deanna Robins, and A u t u m n
Smith . Chauffeurs David M c C u l l e r and
John Richardson p u l l up late i n t w o
l imos o w n e d by c lothing store owner
A l i c i a Friant and wor lds only holder
of 6 jobs Ryan Masterson. Everyone
begins to gather around as Jay Scott
yells that Stacey Schalm, Gerie Cobb,
and Lisa Gilbert are ready to take the
10 year r e u n i o n picture . Randy yells
" H e y L o r i , where are B i l l B r o w n , Todd
H i l l , and Br ian A r c h ? " " I guess they are
absent as usua l " .
As the evening draws to an end, we
were glad we had this opportuni ty to come
together once again and share memories
about a l l the f u n times at Madison High .
Everyone got the chance to catch up w i t h
one another and are looking f o r w a r d to the
next reunion . Thanks for par ty ing w i t h us!

M.O.A.C. TRIP
On Friday, February 2nd, twenty-six Madison students attended Southlake High School to represent different organizations for the MOAC Interaction Day. Their purpose was to share ideas and experiences among the representatives from other schools. The organizations included: Journalism, Yearbook, S.A.D.D, Student Council, Class Officers, N.H.S, and Band. Each organization split up into groups and interacted with the other school representatives. Lunch and snacks were provided and thanks to Southlake High School, everyone had a great time and learned more about organizing and raising funds for their organization. Sadly to say, this was the last year that MOAC will be having their conferences to interact other schools.

C L O S I N G As the 95-96 school year is ending, the Madison students
should remember the good times and the not so good times. A l l the school activities l ike the Fall-a-Fair,
activities nights, baseball, softball, basketball, football , volleyball games. Homecoming, Spirit Week, Prom, Spring Break, and everything else. Some of these times were the
best times of our lives. We should never forget al l that we learned and earned
from being here at Madison. A special thanks should go out to all those teachers w h o helped make each one of our dreams come true and for encouraging us to f u l f i l l each hope that we desire. We should also thank those staff members w h o helped b u i l d our self-esteem to become
what we are today. Thanks to al l those teachers and staff for reminding us how to see the w o r l d as one. Madison
will always be a part of our hearts because of the dreams and goals we achieved f r o m learning al l that we know.
Thanks again for teaching us to become a better and stronger person as we leave to face the w o r l d by
ourselves.
