Minutes of the February 10, 2014 BCCC meeting Meeting was called to order by co-chairs Chris Addington and Larry “Lugnut” Thomas. Introductions. Chris also discussed the change in the new BCCC sign-in sheet. Guests: --Jerry Gould/Gould Auctions. Discussed auction that will be held at Sportsman RV show on Saturday. He has all type of vehicles to be sold, not all classics. It is a reserve auction and there is limited room available. --Matt/Famoso Drag Strip. March Meet 3/6-10, diesel trucks 3/22, off road area being added on property. Will have tractor pulls, sand drags, road course. Manufacture series will be in full swing this year Fun Fords, Super Chevys, and Mopars. Kick-off party to the March Meet on 3/6 between Chuys and Roadhouse Grill 6-9 pm. --Mike Hatcher & Bob Morrison/Central Valley Sportsman Boat and RV Show. Things are really getting busy and getting everything ready for the show. Checkbook balance as of 1/31/2014: $6,956.63 Correspondence: Thank you note from Roy Romagno and from Outlawz Car Club. Review of local events: 1/25 – Coffee & Cars, Kohl’s on Rosedale Hwy. A lot of different cars, encouraged to come to council meeting and get their clubs involved. Golden Empire Mustangs talked about the Scavenger Hunt their club had. Everyone had a great time and their will have another one. Upcoming local events: 3/1 – Super Cruise, K.C. Fairgrounds 3/6-9 – March Meet, Auto Club Famoso Raceway 3/22 – Kern Raceway Park, Car, Truck & Bike Show 4/12 – Calvary Bible Church & PT Cruisers “Fun Under the Son” Car Show 5/3 – Classic Dreams “Cinco de Mayo” in Shafter 5/24 – Ridge Route Car Show in Frazier Park Old Business: Chris discussed the new Roster and Master Calendar as well as the change in Bette’s calendar. Asked clubs to get their information to Chris/Bette so it can be added to the website. New Business: Super Cruise:

Went through list of duties and clubs responsible. Layout will be done Friday morning

and clubs are welcome to come out Friday afternoon and “stake out” an area for club

(don’t take more than you need and they will become available for anyone by mid-

morning if not used).

Chris discussed some special awards and would like to have more. Looking for a club to

sponsor a “Billet Proof” award. Contact Chris or Larry if your club would like to sponsor

an award.

ACCC February is bill month, deadline is 2/28. SB916 – Biodegradable oils. Double license fee bill has hit a roadblock. AB32 – Greenhouse gas bill and sustainable living, CARB is now involved in land and water usage. Encouraged individuals to sign up for ACCC to support our hobby. Club updates: Corvettes: Not going to Laughlin this year, doing a Clay Shoot-out in June as a fund raiser. Model A & Vintage: Debbie passed as she didn’t make last meeting. Chevy’s: Getting ready for Super Cruise and the start of the car show season. Patricia Henson/SDC: Super Cruise, Easter baskets, they have 48 for sell, Poker Tournament 3/26, thanks for all the hard work on the Super Cruise. PT Cruisers: Super Cruise and their show “Fun Under the Son” 4/12. Frank Henson/Shoulda Woulda Coulda: Upcoming shows, Super Cruise and NSRA. Studebakers: Officer elections, Super Cruise, former VP passed away, Friends of Seniors show on 10/4. Cadillac Kings: 1 yr anniversary event in March at Beach Park. GEMS: Cruises monthly, April 50th anniversary of the Mustang in Vegas. Classic Dreams: 5/3 car show, 1st year in Shafter. Also toy drive in December for Ronald McDonald house.
