    Chapter 1- Whos watching you?Winston finds with the words Big Brother is watching you everywhere. Most walls

    have them, streets have them, and many are even blowing in the wind. In this chapter, we alsolearn about telescreen, which is mandatory in houses and views what you are doing and what you

    are saying. This is then monitored by the thought police.

    Chapter 2- Plumbing for pestsWinstons neighbor, Mrs. Parson, needs help with her plumbing while her husband is

    away. So he agrees, and her children, belonging to Junior Spies, annoy Winston accusing him ofcrimes.

    Chapter 3- Mom is that you?

    Winston goes to sleep and dreams of his mom, who disappeared almost 20 years ago. Inhis dream they were together on a sinking ship. He somehow feels responsible for her

    disappearance.

    Chapter 4- The lies of historyWinston goes to his job at the Ministry of Truth, where he destroys obsolete documents

    and changes others so the Big Brother would always be considered right. That day Winston wasordered to alter a speech made by Comrade Withers, a former official of the Big Brother.

    Chapter 5- If a language has no bad words, nothing bad can happen?

    Syme, a member of the group the revises the New Speak dictionary, the language of theland, claims they are working on a new mission. This was to control the thoughts, and getting

    rid of words that convey the idea rebellion, so no rebellion could ever happen. His knowledgeand idea isnt that great, but everyone listens to the Big Brother and everything he says, about

    food rations, etc.

    Chapter 6- Age is never a factorWinston has a flashback when he hires a prostitute and wants to do bad things to her, now

    a crime which can be sentenced to labor for years if caught. Even thought the prostitute was oldand ugly, he goes through with his sex act because he desperately wanted to have a enjoyable

    sexual affair.

    Chapter 7- LOL jkWinston looks through a children history book and finds The Party claims to have created

    ideal cities. But London, one of the ideal cities and where Winston lives, is a wreck where theelectricity barely works and the buildings decay. Also, The Party claims has increased the

    literacy rate, reduced the infant mortality rate, and given everyone better food and shelter, butWinston also thinks this is untrue.

    Chapter 8- Wish history for the future?

    Winston is curious in what happened in the history and wants to find out. He goes to thepub, where he meets an old man who could remember about the past. The old man really doesnt

    remember exact, but Winston still envies the life of the common people back then.
