ABSTRACTThe New England Regional Student Program provides
major savings to both the participating student and the New Englandstate government. Students qualifying for study under the programreceive admissions preference among out-of-state applicants and arecharged only the equivalent of the in-state tuition fees. These arethe arrangements agreed to by each of the participating institutions.This catalogue provides a listing of graduate degree opportunities atstate universities open to residents of Connecticut, Maine,Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, and Vermont. Expanded study opportunities are made available each year to N3W England's collegeand graduate students through the New England Regional Student Program adminis-tered by the New England Board of Higher Education, the executive agency of the NewEngland Higher Education Compact. This is a multifaceted Program, consisting of thefetlowing categories:
a) the undergraduete level program at publicly-supported gree-granting, two-year institutions.
b) the undergraduate level program at state colleges.
c) the undergraduate level program at state universities,
d) the graduate level program at state colleges,
e) the graduate level program at state universities,
f) the professional level program in medicine at the College of Medicine, Univer-sity of Vermont.
the professional level program in dentistry for Maine residents only at theSchool of Dental Medicine at Tufts University.
h) the professional level program in occupational therapy for Massachusetts resi-dents only at Boston and Tufts Universities, and
the professional level program in physical therapy for Massachusetts residentsonly at Boston and Northeastern U.liversities.
The information on the following pages relates only to the fourth and fifth of thesecategories Persons desiring the details of the other categories of the Program shouldinquire at the New England Board of Higher Education.
This total Program. while not affording direct scholarships, does result in major savingsto ooth the participating student and the New England state governments. Studentsqualifying for study ur.der the Program are charged only the equivalent of the in-statetuition fees At the stare college level, students applying for study under this Programreceive admissions preference among out-of-state applicants. These are arrangementsagreed to by each of the participating institutions
The Program. now entering its eighteenth year of operation. is one of the manyactivities sponsored by the New England Board of Higher Education in its efforts toexpand opportunities for higher education for New England residents and to utilizemore efficiently the higher education resources of the region. The Program has demon-strably reduced costly duplication of study programs in publi institutions, whileaffording thousands of students major savings and expander' opwrtunities for study.It stands as a fine example of the educational benefits achi.4volJle through interstate andinterinstitutional cooperation.

NEW ENGLAND REGIONAL STUDENT PROGRAMGRADUATE DEGREE OPPORTUNITIES AT STATE UNIVERSITIES
FOR LEGAL RESIDENTS OF NEW ENGLAND, 1975-76
WHAT IT ISAn opportunity for qualified legal residents of New England to be enrolled, atthe discretion of the participating institutions, in graduate degree programsof study which are unique or distinctive at a particular institution, or in whichI specialization area within a broad subject marks a study program as one inthose categories Students admitted under these criteria will be charged onlythe usual resident (in- state) tuitiOn charge.
WHO IS ELIGIBLEAny qualified legal resident of any of the New England states.
HOW TO APPLYA resident of any New England state wishing to apply for study under this Pro-gram at one of the state universities must first obtain certification from theDean of the Graduate School of his home state university to the effect that theprogram of study desired is not available at the home state university Appli-cants must, therefore, examine course offerings carefully In cases where anapparently similar program of study is available at both institutions involved,trios certification will normally take the form of endorsement of a Statementfrom the chairman of the relevant department of Study.

RESIDENTS AT STATE COLLEGES, 197546
WHAT IT IS
An opportunity to earn a Master's degree or a Certificate of AdvancedGraduate Study in certain curricula not offered at a New England resident'sown state. The state colleges or public four-year colleges listed in the followingpages offer, for regional enrollment under this Program, a wide variety ofprogram map's and concentrations or specialization areas which are distinc-tive at each school.
Residents of the New England states, as indicated in the course listing infor-mation below, who live outside of the state in which the institution they wishto attend is located, will, if admitted for enrollment in any one of theseregional ::urricula, be charged only the regular resident tuition or instructionalcharge of the institution in which they enroll.
New England residents applying for enrollment under this Program at theseinstitutions will be accorded priority consideration in admission. First prioritywill be given to residents of the state in which the institution is located: secondpriority will be given to the residents of other New England states.
WHO IS ELIGIOLE
Any bona fide resident of the New England states to whom the listed coursesare offered is eligible to apply for enrollment at the specified institutionsoffering curricula to the residents of his state. Academic eligibility will bedetermined by each institution
