SituationGoblusk House has a private situation on the edge of Lough Erne with a spectacular outlook. The property lies within 19 acres of its own grounds in the heart of the historic county of Fermanagh, 6 miles to the north of the town Enniskillen. A county town, Enniskillen offers the full range of services, amenities, education and cultural activities. It is also home to the 16th Century Enniskillen Castle which presently houses museums.

While the county of Fermanagh is without a coastline, it is a water-lover’s paradise, with an abundance of lakes, rivers, inlets and waterways providing fishing, boating and watersports. There are over 150 islands to explore in the county.

Lough Erne provides some of the most breathtaking lake views in the county and comprises two lakes connected by Enniskillen, the only island town in Ireland. Lough Erne is connected to the river Shannon by the Shannon Erne Waterway, a series of canals and lakes that allow navigation

from Fermanagh to County Clare.

Lough Erne Yacht Club, reputedly the oldest yacht club in Ireland, is also situated in Goblusk Bay. There is a modern clubhouse, marina and a large hanger constructed during World War II to house Catalina flying boats, presently used for storing sailing dinghies. There is also a local rowing club.

The five-star Lough Erne Resort can be accessed via a short boat journey from Goblusk House and includes luxury accommodation, a spa, award winning restaurant, two championship golf courses and it played host to the G8 summit in 2013.

A short walk from the house leads to The Manor House Country Hotel which has a 9-hole golf course, restaurants, swimming pool, spa, tennis courts and marina. Golfing is also available at Enniskillen Golf Club, an 18-hole parkland course dating from 1896.

Due to the varying terrain throughout the county, there are many scenic walks, including Cuilcagh Mountain, the highest summit in the county and a part of the Marble Arch Caves Global Geopark. Fermanagh has many forests open to the public, providing a variety of charming walks.

The area is well-served for the fieldsports enthusiast, with world-class driven snipe and woodcock shooting. There is also a number of premier driven pheasant shoots in the county, with let-days available. For the fisherman, the abundance of lakes and rivers provides fishing for salmon and wild brown trout, as well as stocked rainbow and brown trout. There

is equestrianism in the form of the Fermanagh Harriers Hunt, a pony club and an equestrian centre at Enniskillen. The Kingfisher Cycle Trail extends to 298 miles, with much of it passing through Fermanagh.

The county is home to many of Northern Ireland’s finest mansion houses, as well as the world-renowned pottery centre at Belleek.

The house is well located for a number of airports. Enniskillen Airport is 2.5 miles distant and offers the facility to land private aircraft. Other aiports include Knock (76 miles), Belfast International (85 miles), Belfast City (89 miles) and Dublin (109 miles).

DeScriptionGoblusk House occupies a prominent, south-facing position within its mature grounds. Access is via a bell-mouthed entrance with piers, electric wrought iron gates and railings. A tarmacadam sweeping tree-lined avenue leads to the front of the house where there is a gravel parking area and expansive views over the bay.

The original house at Goblusk was constructed as a dowager house on the Irvine Estate. It was fully restored in the mid-1990’s to create a magnificent country house. It was designed by the award winning Edinburgh architect, Nicholas Groves-Raines, based on Palladio’s Villa Forni-Cerato, with further influences taken from a neighbouring Victorian Italianate mansion and it is a rare example of a modern home constructed with many classic Georgian features. The plan of the house
