ISLAM AND THE CHRISTIAN MISSION TO MUSLIMS

Warren W. Webster, compiler Visiting Lecturer, 1965-66

School of World Mission and Institute of Church Growth Fuller Theological Seminary, Pasadena, California

This is a selected bibliography of materials in English which are of particular interest to the Christian and missionary student of Islam. An attempt has been made to incorporate a large part of those materials in English which relate directly to the Christian presence among Muslims, even if some of these have only historical value in showing the understanding and approach of an earlier era. Such other general, academic and scholarly studies of Islam have been included as commend themselves readily to the student who wishes to acquire further background, or depth of understanding, in relation to a particular geographical or investigative area.

In most instances, books in this list published prior to the present decade are now out-of-print and obtainable only from used-book dealers specializing in Oriental and Islamic materials, but the student can generally locate them for research and study in one of the major missionary collections in the U.S.A.

Titles marked with an asterisk are recommended for introductory study.

I. Introductory and General. In addition to the section on Islam in standard works treating the religions of the world note the following:
