From the Desk of Father Bosco Dear Friends, On Mount Tabor the apostles got a glimpse of the glory that belonged to Jesus as the Son of God. So wonderful was this experience that Peter exclaimed, ‘Lord, it is good for us to be here.’ And surely it is always good for us to be here participating in the Eucharist because it is here we encounter Jesus really present in the Eucharist, body, soul and divinity. It is here we get a glimpse of our glory as children of God and heirs to eternal life.

I wish you and your loved ones another week of God’s grace, favor and good health.

OUR CALL TO STEWARDSHIP

“’Here I am!’ he answered.” – Genesis 22:11 It is easy to say, “Here I am, Lord,” when we are kneeling in church. Can we just as easily answer, “Here I am, Lord,” when we go home, when a neighbor needs our help, when a fellow parishioner asks us to join a committee, or when a letter asks for our financial help? These are often exactly the places where Jesus calls us to be.

CATHOLIC HERALD_______________________

Issue of March 5, 2015 Every week the Catholic Herald keeps readers up to date with articles from Catholic News Service on events around the nation and the world. This week’s Catholic Herald also continues to offer information on Lent, including fish fries in the diocese. Learn more about your Catholic faith by reading the Catholic Herald. If you do not

subscribe but wish to receive the Catholic Herald in your home, contact your parish office.

PARISH LENTEN OPPORTUNITIES_________ ►Parish Reconciliation: Wed. March 4, 7:00pm at Holy Rosary Church. ►Stations of the Cross: Fridays during Lent at 12:30pm at Holy Rosary Church. ►Ecumenical Services: Each Wednesday during Lent 5:30pm.

LENTEN REGULATIONS___________________ Catholics who have celebrated their 14th birthday are to abstain from meat on Ash Wednesday, all Fridays in lent, and Good Friday. In addition to abstaining from meat, Catholics who have celebrated their 18th birthday, until they celebrate their 59th birthday, are to fast on Ash Wednesday and Good Friday. Those who are bound to this regulation may eat only one full meal. Two smaller meals are permitted if necessary to maintain strength according to one’s needs, but eating solid foods between meals is not permitted. These minimal penitential practices should not be lightly excused.

DID YOU KNOW?_________________________________________________ SACRAMENTS are visible signs instituted by Christ to give us invisible grace. There are seven Sacraments of the Church; Baptism, Confirmation and Eucharist grouped as Sacraments of Initiation, Reconciliation and Anointing of the Sick grouped as Sacraments of Healing and Matrimony and Holy Orders grouped as Sacraments of Service. SACRAMENTALS are sacred signs instituted by the Church. They prepare us to receive the fruit of the sacraments and sanctify different circumstances of life. A few examples of sacramentals are blessings of persons, meals, objects and places: Blessings of abbots or abbesses, the consecration of virgins, the rite of religious profession, and the blessings of readers, acolytes, and catechists; the blessing of a church or an altar, of holy oils, vessels, and vestments, as well as the blessing of bells; crosses, rosaries, scapulars, holy water, etc.

2015 ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL __________ Next weekend, March 7-8, the in-pew process for the Annual Catholic Appeal will be conducted. Those who have not made a pledge by mail will be asked to do so at this time. Please read the annual appeal tabloid that is in your bulletin today. It provides a detailed explanation of the use of the funds that you are asked to give. In addition to funding the work of the diocese, if the appeal exceeds goal with funds received it will reach out through a grant program to help Catholic schools, religious education programs and assist distressed parishes in need.

“OUR LADY OF FATIMA PARISH”___________________________________ A copy of the letter from Bishop Morlino has been inserted in this bulletin, stating that the Churches of Holy Rosary, St. Peter, Our Lady of Hope, St. Michael & Immaculate Conception will merge to become one Parish which will be named, Our Lady of Fatima Parish. THE NAMES OF EACH CHURCH & CEMETERY WILL NOT CHANGE9 We will all belong to one parish, which will be named, “Our Lady of Fatima Parish.”

THANK YOU____________________________ ... to all involved in the February Frolic; the fundraising committee, those who attended, those who made/donated auction items, those who cooked the meal, those who bought the auction items, Bridge’s and Jensen Entertainment. ... to our CCW for their School Scholarship donation and for the light meal provided following the Living Stations last Wednesday! …to all involved in putting on the Living Stations; the RE students and the adult organizers; Dale Cwynar & Steve Fitzsimons and to Diane Smith-Hole, Pastor Larry Hakes and all who attended! … to Piggly Wiggly for their donation to the school and to all who collected December receipts and to Angie Murray for tabulating them! … to all of the February Mass Ministers, Church Cleaners, Meals on Wheels volunteers, Snow Shovelers, Bulletin Stuffer, Offertory Counters, those serving on Councils & Commissions, and those who care for the Church, School & Cemetery grounds.
