This presentation will review the 19 core credits required for a student to complete either of the five endorsements under House Bill 5. 14 English CreditsEnglish IEnglish IIEnglish III4th Credit of EnglishOptions include:English IVBusiness EnglishDual Credit EnglishAP English

Students will be required to complete four English credits: English I, English II, English III and a fourth English. Options for the fourth English credit may include courses such as English IV, Business English, Dual Credit English or AP English24 Mathematics CreditsAlgebra IGeometry2 Additional Math CreditsOptions Include:Algebra IIPre-CalculusAP CalculusAP StatisticsIntense AlgebraCollege Algebra

Students will be required to complete four mathematics credits: Algebra I, Geometry, and two additional math credits. Options for the two additional math credits may include courses such as Algebra II, Pre-Calculus, AP Calculus, AP Statistics, Intense Algebra or College Algebra 34 Science CreditsBiology3 Additional Science creditsOptions IncludeChemistryPhysicsAnatomy &PhysiologyMicrobiologyEnvironmental SystemsAP Biology, Chemistry, or Physics

Students will be required to complete four science credits: Biology and three additional science credits. Options for the additional science credits may include courses such as: Chemistry, Physics, Anatomy and Physiology, Microbiology, Environmental Systems, AP Biology, AP Chemistry or AP Physics 43 Social Studies CreditsWorld Geography or World HistoryUS HistoryGovernment (1/2 credit)Economics (1/2 credit)

Students will be required to complete three social studies credits: World Geography or World History, United States History, and a half credit of Government and Economics52 Foreign Language CreditsSpanish I and Spanish IIOrFrench I and French II

And finally, students will be required to complete one Physical Education Credit and one Fine Arts credit: The Physical Education credit can be earned through athletics, PE, Aerobics, marching band, dance line, cheerleading, or other documented outside athletic activities. The Fine Arts credit can be earned through courses such as art, dance, theatre arts, choir, band and floral design.7
