18th Annual Mobile Section, Alabama AGC

Construction Safety Excellence Awards Mobile Section, Alabama AGC recognized our members who maintained an ex-cellent safety record throughout 2019, Wednesday, August 12, 2020 at the Mobile Section, Alabama AGC office. Due to Covid19 Restrictions on large groups, we were unable to host this event as a luncheon at the Country Club. Instead, recipients were asked to visit the AGC office to receive their award and to grab a boxed lunch to go which was made available by our sponsors. 35 of the Mobile area leading commercial, industrial, specialty contractors and suppliers were on hand to receive awards. Scott Tisdale - Assistant Area Director of the Mobile Area OSHA office and Fran-cisco Garcia - OSHA Compliance Assistance Specialist for Alabama were on hand for the occasion and commended the contractors and suppliers for their outstanding safety performance. This local program is an ongoing effort by the Mobile Section, AGC to recognize their members in the Mobile area, who have developed and implemented excellent safety and loss prevention programs through management commitment, employee training and program innovation. Each year Mobile Section recognizes one safety professional for his or her out-standing leadership in the field of Safety. This year that honor went to Stephanie O’Melia with Dunn Building Company, LLC. Stephanie contributes her time, talents and energy to a wide range of industry concerns, from develop-ing systems to improve the safety program at Dunn to mentoring young employ-ees within the company. Overall Stephanie is involved in helping increase the depth of Dunn’s Safety Culture and has been successful in what is historically a male-dominated industry. Congratulations Stephanie on this great achievement.
